Detailed Reviews
I stayed at Vamos for one night. I called ahead of time and they also arranged to pick me up from the airport.
This hotel is almost brand new, in really good condition. The staff is nice and friendly, wifi works very well, breakfast was perfect.
The location is ok, in a relatively safe area. It is quite close to the Merkato, that's why I stayed there. There are shops around, a nice bakery, local restaurants.
I just hope this hotel stays as good as it is now, and that it doesn't get neglected like many hotels I've seen in Ethiopia.

I've been staying at Vamos Guest House for more than 1 week, but the service is stellar in terms of staff's support. They take your feedback and comments seriously. The room is very clean, spacious, and sufficiently furnished. Internet connectivity is spotty, but not bad taking into account that internet quality is generally not good in Ethiopia. Hot water is also spotty, but if you let the staffs know of it, they will do their best for improvement. Breakfast is sometimes a buffet but not always. Usually serves eggs (scrambled or omelet) bread, pancakes, french toast, tea or coffee when it is not a buffet. The buffet has more options. They'll also change the towels and linen when you want them to. Free airport pickup is a quality service in Addis Ababa, since taxi is not that cheap anymore. If people are looking for a budget hotel, I believe Vamos Guest House should be in their list.

I was very happy in my days in Vamos, a prime base to explore Addis Abeba, a city that I liked also, perhaps because I stayed in such a nice guesthouse. Vamos is full of good vibes. Everybody is nice and pleasant. Staff is professional and efficient, and as I said, always smiley and friendly. The manager is a honest fellow who will help the guests, provide information, solve any problem. Actually we really went out of his way to provide me help, in circumstances which do not need to be told here.
The location is outstanding, one of the the best things here. If you like to walk you can just go to the main spots in the center, it will be around 2-3 km. Otherwise, you have two MRT stations at less than 500 meters. How convenient is this!? And although there is no restaurant in Vamos, there is one next door with a good variety of food and drinks.
The surroundings are great, lots of local shops and a friendly atmosphere.
The rooms are nice, there is good hot water and the best Internet I had in 20 days in Ethiopia. Breakfast was good, simple but tasty and prepared with love every morning.
Another great feature: free pick ups and drops off the airport!
Nights were quiet and I slept well. Honestly, this is the place to stay in the city and I dare to say, the cost-quality ratio is just unbeatable. I loved it and wanted to stay there in my last night in Ethiopia but fortunately (for them, therefore for me, because they are lovely) they were fully booked.

We were stumped facing the myriad of choices for hotels in Ethiopia’s capital. The name Vamos Guest House stood out; it was ironic to see a Spanish language name in Ethiopia! (Turns out It’s close to Mexico Square).
The pictures looked good, location central, close to the downtown district, the metro, a vibrant shopping street, and had very fair rates. We made the booking.
Right after making the reservation, we were contacted by the hotel, inquiring about our flight information. They said we would be picked up: no extra charge, always included. Amazing: a hotel making things easy, right from the start.
After just a couple of days, we realized we were getting far more value than the money we were paying. The breakfasts were great, the rooms tastefully and comfortably furnished. Everything worked: shower, electrical outlets, TV; help with directions, and getting around. Add the airport transfer.
The staff is fully competent, and led by a fellow named Welde who is a hotel management graduate from one of Ethiopia/s fine universities. He knows what he’s doing. His message to staff seems to be, “always exceed their expectations.”
We can’t wait to go back to Ethiopia, to spend more time in Addis, tour this fascinating country, and rebook a room at the Vamos.

This hotel is very clean and beds are very comfortable. Staff is also very friendly. The day I arrived I had some really dirty clothes and because it was Sunday, many laundry places were closed. They arranged for my clothes to be hand-washed and dried the same day, and upon asking the charges, they simply said “whatever you feel like”.
My only complain is lack of hot water (it was warm and no pressure) and non-working credit card machine.

I really enjoyed my time at Vamos: for $25 a night, you get breakfast included (pancakes are fab, omelette and scrambled eggs are good) as well as hot water and free wi-fi. The receptionists are helpful and speak English. The guesthouse also provides free transport to and from the airport, which saves at least $10 and an Ethiopian negotiation! Lideta is also a good location - away from the hustle and bustle of the city but within walking distance from Meskel square, or a short train journey to Piazza.

I love this little hotel where I’ve stayed 3 times in Addis. They always take wonderful care of me with airport shuttles, laundry service and even ordering me some dinner when I flew in late. All the staff from the Manager to the cleaners are delightful. Breakfast can be traditional or for me- a delicious omelette with toast, butter and jam and tea. I really recommend this place- mainly because they really care and it shows

Czysto, Dobra lokalizacja, Nówka sztuka w dobrej cenie
Byłem tu z partnerką i kumplem.
