Taylor Hill Lodge is an English barn built in the early 1890's by Grandpa Taylor. The interior of the barn has been remodeled into a comfotable modern lodge while retaining its original design. Halfway between Omaha and Des Moines, Taylor Hill Lodge is approximately three miles north of Audubon, Iowa. Located in the rolling hills of western Iowa, you will be glad to know there are many attractions nearby. Chuck Manatt found a creative way to save his grandfather's turn-of-the-century barn near Audubon. Having served three generations, the barn stood as an empty reminder of the place where cows were once milked and hay was hoisted into its loft. Outliving its usefulness was the barn's only crime; it was still a strong building able to stand for a long time to come.Completed in the spring of 2002, Taylor Hill Lodge stands looking much the same on the outside but the inside would be quite a surprise to Charlie Taylor. Where once pigs rooted in the straw, the guests now relax on leather sofas in front of a cozy fireplace. Homey and comfortable is how guests describe the lodge with its earthy colors, mission-style furniture and original pitched ceiling visible from the spacious great room below.Open year round, Taylor Hill Lodge offers six bedrooms, four full baths and a family-sized dining and sitting area. Outside to the east is a patio where guests can sip their morning coffee while viewing the sunrise and surrounding fields. Although solo travelers are always welcome, the lodge is superb for reunions of families or friends.

Property's Favorite Review
Our family has stayed at Taylor Hill many times. Most recently, we had a family reunion there and got excellent reviews from all the participants. Comfortable bedrooms, lounging area, eating area (seats LOTS) and patio. The innkeeper is outstanding...available if we have questions, need something or require a quick repair. Our family has gathered here for our Christmas for many years. There is a great space upstairs for games, cards, or a craft project. I have stayed there when I need to make a quick trip to Audubon on business and find it to be so relaxing. It is so peaceful sitting on the patio in the evening either by yourself or with a group. The view of the countryside just makes any troubles melt away. My favorite activity there...in the AM it is a great place to eat breakfast and watch the sun come up. I/we have NEVER had a bad experience and would confidently recommend Taylor Hill as a great place to stay

This is our second visit to Taylor Hill Lodge. Unfortunately we are over 6 hrs away so don't get here enough. Came into area for Tivoli Fest in Elk Horn such a short distance from there and a winery in-between the 2. Ann was there to greet us and to answer any questions. She was very knowledgeable about the area and made you feel at home. Lodge (Imaculate Barn) is on the rolling countryside rural Iowa, a true getaway. Room was comfortable and Lodge had everything you needed plus 2 sitting areas. Ann brings a hot breakfast in the mornings. We were having a breakfast at the festival so we took advantage of the other nice offerings of fruit and coffee. Wifi, Dish, and so much more. A real piece of heaven. Cannot wait to return. You can rent 1 room or as many as a group needs. Private baths make this comfortable.

Taylor Hill Lodge is an old barn on the Manett family property (look up Charles and Richard Manett) that has been renovated into what looks like a high end, very well-appointed hunting lodge. The sign says “Established 2002”, but everything looks brand new. It is set on a hill overlooking the beautiful rolling farmland of western Iowa. The lodge has two rooms on the main floor and four rooms on the upper floor overlooking a central gathering area. Innkeeper Ann and helper Donna were very helpful. We are rather well-traveled in the US and Europe, and this is has been added to our short list of memorable lodging experiences. It is a little off the beaten path, but well worth the drive from I-29 or I-80. Additionally, about five miles away the little town of Audubon is a delightful place to visit. The walkways of the main street and town park are lined with exquisite 2 foot square tile mosaics of birds. There are several pretty good restaurants that are open most of the time, and Albert the Bull is a must-see.

The Taylor Hill Lodge is such a beautiful place, just outside of Audubon, Iowa. It is so well done, and the staff is tremendous. We are so glad we chose the lodge instead of a typical hotel - a beautiful terrace, classy furnishings and a great bed to sleep in (we chose the Mallard Room but they all look great!). We definitely will be back - highly recommended!!👍

We have stayed here several times and we always love it. It is very clean, comfortable and homey. It is so perfect to have your own room and then the large gathering room. Ann, the manager is very personable and accommodating. Until next time. Thanks.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Taylor Hill Lodge. The countryside setting is beautiful! The surrounding fields with the rolling hills and frequent pheasant appearances, as well as the beautiful sunrises, were indeed a treat! The lodge itself is roomy and comfortable and handsomely decorated. The history of the lodge and farm was fascinating, the breakfast satisfying and delicious, and Ann was a most gracious host! We would definitely recommend the Taylor Hill Lodge to anyone traveling through Audubon.

This is a beautiful, comfortable lodge next to cornfields in Audubon, IA, with quite an interesting history. It really feels like home away from home. Ann, the innkeeper, lives close by and she takes excellent care of the lodge and her guests. We shared the lodge with a family of 9 from Chicago. We were on the ground floor in the Duck Room. The 60 inch TV was mounted on the wall in the living room connected to our bedroom. The walls are very well insulated as the noise did not bother us at all when trying to sleep. We would certainly stay at Taylor Hill Lodge if/when we return.
