Traveled throughout Eritrea and Hotel Asmara Palace was the best by far. Located fairly close to the airport. Rooms were clean. Staff spoke "okay" English, as long as you avoided slang and fast dialog. Hotel restaurants were decent.

This is one of the best hotel in Asmara . It's nice and a big hotel. Hotel staff are nice and friendly 10 minutes drive to the down town from the hotel. Very good arrangement for meetings and events in the hotel. It has few shops for clothing and souvenir. It also has indoor and outdoor Swimming pool . Have... More

First time coming to this country, the city and this hotel. People welcome you with their great smiles! The location of the hotel is just about 7-8 mins from the airport and you'll enjoy a bit of local scenery on the way. However when I open the fridge, there was a good left from the previous customer and no tissue... More

No question about it, this is hands down the best hotel in Asmara. Service is very good indeed, as befitting the main/biggest hotel in the city. Facilities are modern and well kept. Internet facilities are arguably second to none in the city. Expansive recreational areas and considerable activity from refreshing mix of local and international patrons. Sometimes, the staff could... More

One day is enough to assess this place If it was anywhere else I would say it needs a spark but it suits this country- its tired, not very busy, don't go out of their way to welcome you, but a positive , the rooms are comfortable so if that's all you need then ok

I stayed here in June 2016 on a business trip to Asmara. The hotel concierge collected us from the airport at 1am off the Qatar Airways flight. He was prompt and efficient and there were no problems at check in at that time of the morning. A pleasant surprise the Internet worked with reasonable speed, as did the telephone system.... More

The hotel is in half acre plot, with sitting arrangement in covered and open space. The open space is surrounded by well planned Garden with slides and Bouncy castle to keep the children occupied. The vegetarian food was very good, specially the Vegetable soup was exceptional. The main course was equally good with various Vegetables cooked and served over a Chapati made... More

I was a guest at an official meeting at this hotel, so I feel I must not be too ungracious about its shortcomings, but it fell far short of international standards for a hotel of its class. Eritrea is a country still developing from a heroic and tragic past and I guess pandering to foreign guests is not yet a... More

As a country that has little or no tourism, most visitors to Asmara are those travelling for business visits. As such, The Asmara Palace Hotel is probably the only good option (or rather, the best of the worst possibilities), where you would want to stay. This was an Inter-Continental many years ago, so some of the Inter-Continental equipment/logos still appear... More
