N'djamena does not get many visitors and hardly any tourists and as a result there are only a few mid to upper range hotels in the city. Accommodation in these hotels is costly and the Mercure was a disappointment. I spent two nights there before a trip to see the Gerewol festival and one night on my return. The drinks...

Hotels are mostly expensive in Africa. But in this hotel price is remarkable. Hotel is old but nice. The employees are very sympathetic. My room was clean and silent. There was free mineral water, tea and coffee in the room. Breakfast was acceptable. There was only one kind of cheese. You can also find honey, jam, butter, boiled egg and fresh fruits...

I did this hostel last week, and it's very cosy, a real surprise, it's quiet and the frame is magnificent. It's a very charming hostel with security really present. At last but not least, food is very good and personal is very nice.

Superb situation along the Chari river, with stunning sunsets from the lush gardens. Lots of local people come to spend the day by the pool or to eat during the weekend, yet the place never becomes raucous and remains friendly. The food is one of the great plusses of this establishment, kudos to the chef and his staff, especially Faustin:...

This is nothing like the Meridien you knew elsewhere. The room is old, the bathroom is old, water tap came out yellow at first, broken shower head etc... The only thing ok is the bed, clean and comfortable. Oh and the AC works, albeit a bit noisy. The TV has few international channels. Breakfast is poor, but the place for...

This hotel is awful. That's it. The Kempinski is best. The Residence is 2nd best. The Novotel is third best. Out of 4, somehow this is 5th. Do not stay here. Terrible management, terrible rooms (that reek), gross food that will make you sick. "But, there is plenty of availability!" There is a reason. Dirt water from the shower (if...

Sure, the Hotel Chari (former Meridien) may not pull out all of the whistles and stops of a Kempinski: the fixtures are old and the hotel is worn out, but where else can you watch the sun set along the Chari river while the egrets and other birds fly gracefully in the sky, replaced hours later by flocks of fruit...

Stayed for a week at the hotel. The room was furnished to an acceptable standard. The bathroom was clean with towels and toiletries replaced daily. The aircon worked but was rather noisy. The bed was comfortable. Had satellite TV good choice of channels. The buffet breakfast had a good selection and the dinner had a good choice. The staff were...
