Good place to work: central, good wifi, nice rooms and great food. As I stayed two weeks I could use the little conferenceroom for free. With the security problems in Burundi for the moment, this place is a good option. Never felt insecure. And it is a good place to make appointments and make new contacts.

I read some of the reviews before booking here in January 2016. And it is true that the food is very good and they have a great staff. As I was a bit afraid to go to Burundi during this unstable period, I was very happy to stay at this place. It is central, in a secure area and to... More

If you are visiting Bujumbura for business and want to stay in heart of city then Botanika is the best place costing 90 USD per night. The rooms are excellent, well decorated and with 24 hour non stop electricity. Though windows do not offer any view of outside. On the opposite side of road is Havana. Next to Botanika is... More

I have stayed at Hotel Botanika on numerous occasion while in Bujumbura for work and keep coming back. I love the atmosphere of the place and the semi-outdoors restaurant is very relaxing, especially in the morning. The dinner menu is good and fairly priced (do ask for the “jus maison”), breakfast is great (hello croissant form Café Gourmand) and the... More

I stayed here for a week on a business trip, as mentioned in the other reviews the rooms are small. I did underestimate this fact. However, the beds are comfortable, and once you've moved the bed to one side, you can get to the wardrobe. I will stay here again because the location is great, and the food is very... More

We stayed here for one night after 2 nights at Club du Lac. The place has a great central location but feels secure, tucked in a courtyard behind guarded gates. The receptionist was very welcoming and we were shown our room quickly. The room was clean and comfortable, though a bit pokey; the bedroom felt quite cramped as the large... More

I decided to stay here after a really nice meal at the restaurant on my last Bujumbura trip. When I arrived (with a reservation), the first room I was shown was already occupied, and the second had no windows. I took the third room but the wifi was unpredictable. It was impossible to walk around the room if the bathroom... More

We were staying in Bujumbura on our way to visit a project in DRCongo and were planning to meet up with a number of people while we were there. Botanika was ideal. Central, with a semi outdoor restaurant, shady under the trees and with birds flitting round. All our meetings fitted in really well and it was easy to offer... More

I stayed at the Botanika for five nights recently while in Bujumbura for work. The hotel is in a very convenient central location and easy to get to and from. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the food at the restaurant was good. The ambience of the place is very nice. As per some of the other reviews... More

Stayed at the Hotel Botanika for 3 nights in May 2014. Rooms are clean but small, as others have said, with a very strange layout. Excellent restaurant downstairs, very nice breakfasts (croissants and french bread to die for) and dinner. Would go back. Helpful and friendly staff, speak English, nice music.

“One warning - and it isn't the hotel really it is the location. The street gets crazy on the weekend with all the people partying - and it can be very noisy. If this bothers you be careful which room you get. I had one facing the street and was woken up several times from music and street action. This didn't bother me but might someone else.”
