Absolutely loved Bayete lodge. Recently built in true Colonial style we spent 3 lovely days here being completely spoilt by all the staff. Rooms were first class with a short walk to everything in the hotel, pool area very calming and a good size. Couldn’t recommend it enough, they organised everything from a doctors visit to day trips to taxis.
The hotel is set in a lovely quiet residential area of VF but a 5 minute taxi ride ($5) from everywhere. The rooms are adequate and the shower fantastic! The place is made by the delightful, helpful staff - nothing is too much trouble. The gardens are beautiful and the pool perfect. Thoroughly recommend!
Stayed here in January. Pros - Very nice and quiet area. - Absolutely beautiful and stunning mature garden. - Friendly and helpful staff in particular the guy who checked us in. I think name started with T and a lady who assisted with room change N. There is also one of the waiters. - The rooms are big enough for a small lodge. - Cleaners did their best - Decent breakfast with good choices - Pool and outdoor sitting benches scattered around the garden. -Comfortable beds, clean sheets -Safe in each room -Umbrella in each room Cons - - NO TV in any of the rooms!!!!! - There are NO FRIDGES in any of the rooms. This does not bode well in a hot area. A fridge is a must in each room. - The wardrobe in Room 25 needs to go. The inside of it is unusable. It stinks to high heavens. -The rooms could benefit from double glazed windows. We could hear noises from outside room 26 noise with people walking past and there was heavy foot traffic. We could also hear the couple in the room next to ours going at it. We were then moved to room 25 - a supposed downgrade but it was actually nice and very quiet there right at the back. -The bedding could have been changed a bit more. Our duvet was dirty and they just flipped it. -We never had enough towels and had to keep asking for towels. They only left a set for one person. - They charged extra for cappuccino etc... - No hair dryer, iron,…
We chose Bayete lodge on Booking.Com based on the photos and description. These do not do it enough justice - beautiful gardens and a lovely, thatched building where you have your meals. Friendly and cheerful service from all the staff, good food and very comfortable rooms. An affordable place to stay and you wont be disappointed!
My wife and I would like to say THANK YOU!!!!. We traveled to Victoria falls for our honey moon and Vic Falls was our second trip from Inyanga Mountains. On arrival, we were welcomed with a smile by Zandile. Our check-in was very smooth and even after we had checked out she went out of her way to help us all with a SMILE on her face. The room was extra clean with the help of the housekeeping team. We were treated like KINGS AND QUEENS. My favorite part was the breakfast, which was not just an ordinary breakfast but a delicious hot breakfast with many mouth watering options. Thanks to Malume Charles, Chris, Freedom and the Madam Boss who checked on us to find out if we were enjoying our stay. Bayete is a home away from home. The level of HOSPITALITY at this property is on another dimension. To wrap it up, the beautiful landscapes makes the place unique in all of whole Vic falls. If you're looking for a place to stay I strongly recommend BAYETE GUEST LODGE.…
This place is so natural and cozy! Such a great place! I honestly didnt want to leave. Specially the hospitalty! I want to thank Freedom at the resturant for taking care of me and for the warm welcome and kind hospitaltiy. Also for that amazing Chicken Schnitzel!
I have nothing negative to say about this lodge. Extremely helpful staff, lovely room, great food and even a nice pool to swim in. We only stayed one night but will be back next time we're up there. Thanks guys
When trying to pick a lodge in Victoria Falls, we looked at several and settled on the Bayete. Arriving when you are not disappointed. The rooms were very comfortable the mosquito net perfect and the grounds were lush. The restaurant served very good meals and our breakfast which was included was delicious. The pool was perfect for a swim early morning to late night. The staff were completely friendly full of smiles willing to help us with all of our arrangements. Can’t wait to return.
I had the pleasure of staying here for 4 days and had an absolutely wonderful time. From check-in to check-out I felt like I was at home with family. I loved my room, it felt jungle rustic being set back on the property in the greenery and loved the big net around the king sized bed. I was able to relax so easily. The pool and bar is a really great place to hang out. No need for technology when you can grab a beer and hang out with new friends connecting with real people. The food at the restaurant is also healthy and delicious every time. I learned so much about Zimbabwe and the locals from the staff. The hotel is also close walking distance to town, restaurants, and even to the falls if you like walking. Taxi rides are also cheap for getting around and the drivers love conversation. It’s safe and people are so friendly. The reception staff is also super helpful with planning an itinerary of activities that they book through trusted companies. I had a fantastic time walking with the elephants, enjoyed a serene sunset dinner cruise on the Zambezi River, and took flight in a helicopter over the falls. I highly recommend all those activities! I also experienced delicious meals and drinks in town at The Three Monkeys and River Brewing Co. on recommendation from the staff. Don’t miss the Boma Dinner show too! It made for a fun last night here in Zim. This hotel was all around great and I’m going to miss my new friends here. I can’t wait to come back!…
I don't usually consider staff's attitude that much in my review, but the staff in Bayete deserves a commend. All of them were quick to come help me, and focused on finding a solution. Especially, Alan, we owe you huge for saving our trip schedule. The hotel is a short trip from the falls entrance, and all the activities and meals I arranged directly with the hotel were all on point. The hotel has beautiful trees in the premises, which allowed me to do some birdwatching. One of the biggest advantages is the pricing of the restaurant, which was super affordable and delicious. A little downside for me was mosquitos in the room. As the main door and windows didn't have mosquito net (the bed has the net), the room ended up having mosquitos at night. Hope the hotel considers putting mosquito nets for the windows :)) Having said this, the kind smile and proactive attitude of staff totally offset this little inconvenience. I'll definitely come back!…
