Voted the best Safari Lodge in Zimbabwe for 26 consecutive years, Victoria Falls Safari Lodge offers easy access to Victoria Falls and an unmatched wildlife experience. The Lodge sits on a plateau overlooking Zambezi National Park, with breathtaking views just 4 km from the Falls. As the only sunset-facing hotel in Victoria Falls, the newly-renovated rooms and balconies offer views of a central waterhole frequented by buffalo, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and nocturnal predators like lions and leopards. Our staff, praised for their exceptional hospitality, is our greatest asset. The MaKuwa-Kuwa restaurant and Buffalo Bar, both with stunning views of the waterhole, provide a welcoming atmosphere where guests often share meals and drinks alongside passing wildlife.

Victoria Falls Safari Lodge is lauded for its impressive amenities, from the breathtaking views to its comfortable rooms and multiple dining options, all of which have earned high praise from guests. While some travelers mention the hotel's prices, particularly for food, drinks, and laundry, can be steep, the stunning location near Victoria Falls and wildlife encounters are often seen as worth the expense. The lodge's vibrant atmosphere and culturally rich decor contribute to a unique experience, although opinions on service can vary. Cleanliness is consistently commended, with the exception of some bathroom facilities that could be refreshed.

The hotel was clean, has a wonderful vulture show at 1pm where they feed the vultures, great view of a watering hole and staff is excellent. Housekeeping came into the room every evening pulled the mosquito netting around the bed and sprayed the room. We did have a few issues. We made reservations for dinner at the restaurant and when we arrived we were told they did not get have the reservation. My husband told the bar manager who said she would handle it and I was at the bar when she was handling the reservation. I suspect that they did not lose our reservation but could not honor it for other reasons. I certainly was not happy about that. They also did not have reservations for a another party that was also traveling with us. The a/c is adequate and the key is to turn on the a/c and the ceiling fan. I would suggest to have laundry done somewhere else as there was a "grease spot" on a shirt that was returned from laundry. I was able to remove the spot with soap and water. Additionally we were there with a tour and another couples luggage on our tour ended up on the wrong bus even though it was properly labeled. Very nice hotel but has some caveats.

The lodge is enormous - an open-air structure with multiple levels of timbered-viewing decks - overlooking a large watering hole. Most rooms have beautiful views of the watering hole (check when reserving as the couple with whom we were traveling had booked a view room, but the view was partially obscured - after lodging a complaint, they were immediately moved to another room). There are 2 small pools with poolside service, plus a bar and 2 restaurants, all of which offer an enticing variety of options. Do not miss booking the Boma Dinner & Drum Show - great food served buffet-style and a lively and entertaining evening. A daily Vulture Culture program offers the opportunity to see many vulture species and marabou storks soaring in for the hotel's food scraps and to learn about conservation of these scavengers. All of the staff are helpful and attentive, especially Grace and Melanie at the Tours Desk, who were extremely helpful in booking activities, including a Tour of Victoria Falls, a sunset cruise, a visit to an Elephant Sanctuary (a little pricey, but worth it to become part of the herd) and the best $52 I have ever spent in my life - sitting in a hide immediately next to the waterhole to view wildlife close-up (not for kids and only for those with a lot of patience, but an unbelievable opportunity). The rooms are lovely and comfortable with balconies. My only caveat would be for people with mobility issue due to the many stairs - you may want to check to see if there are any elevators on the premises.

It is located within a private park just over 2 km from the town.
The facility is well maintained.
The rooms are clean, comfortable and equipped with mosquito nets; the view of the waterhole is splendid, where it is possible to see numerous animals drinking during the day.
The small balcony of the room is often visited by small monkeys: it is therefore advisable not to leave clothing or objects there.
At guests' disposal: kettle, safety box, swimming pool, gym (overlooking the waterhole) and wifi (also working in the rooms).
Buffet breakfast with limited choice, but still more than decent.
A la carte dinner of more than sufficient quality; the drum show in the Boma restaurant was very pleasant.
At 1.00 pm it is possible to see the vultures dining near the waterhole from the terrace (or even more closely via a hotel companion).
The lodge has an office for organizing visits; interesting is the one to the waterfalls with entrance to the park (cost €50 per person) and the cruise along the Zambezi; the adrenaline-filled excursion to the Devil's pool in Zambia requires the processing of customs formalities (quickly thanks to the help of the guides) and the payment of a new entry tax to Zimbabwe (provided that upon arrival in the country you have not already paid the double entrance).
Quick check in and check out.
Courteous staff even if a little distracted.

Lodge not far from the beautiful town center is very nice and well structured. The staff was very kind and welcoming.
The restaurants, bars and swimming pool overlook a valley with a pool of water where animals such as elephants, kudus, antelopes, warthogs and others are often seen drinking.
It is truly a pleasure and relaxing to spend time in the pool admiring them. The swimming pool itself is a bit small but nice and with nice fresh water, with temperatures of almost 40Âş it is a blessing to cool off.
The room is also nice even if a little small. It has a nice little balcony overlooking the valley which, if it weren't for too many mosquitoes, would be very pleasant to spend time there. The bathroom is also small but with a very large and comfortable shower.
Decent breakfast, good variety of fruit and little sweets.
The lodge also offers many additional services such as mini safaris, walks, feeding the vultures and many others.
Among the things that were wrong first and foremost was the Wi-Fi, which was slow and disconnected very often. The cleanliness was good but could be improved, there were some dead insects in some corners on the first day and they were still there on the last. Then the costs of both the restaurants, the bar and the activities were really expensive, comparable to Western structures to fleece Westerners.
In short, a good structure to spend 2 nights even if there is various room for improvement to give it 5 stars.

We spent three nights in the lodge as part of our Africa tour. We loved the of the watering hole from our nice lanai. It was amazing watching elephants, bison, wart hogs, kudu, and other African animals as they visited the watering hole.
The room was nice but you had to be very aware of the steps inside the room if you needed to visit the loo in the middle of the night. The mosquito netting over the bed made it a tru Africa experience. The bed was very comfortable and the restroom had a wonderful shower. The room AC required a room key to operate so be sure to request a second key so you can cool the room while you go for dinner.
Breakfast was an excellent buffet that included plenty of fresh fruit and traditional American and European selections.
Dinner and bar options were a bit limited and prices reflected the limited choices since the lodge is a bit remote.
Overall we loved the experience. The facility was very clean and the staff was extremely polite and accommodating.
A true African experience and we would gladly return

I was really looking forward to this place and was a little disappointed. There was a layer of dust all around the baseboards in the Master Bath that I think is actually termite dust but not entirely sure. It felt clean but the carpet in the bedrooms felt kind of old and dirty. The actual rooms are very neat but just feel like they need some good cleaning or updating. The other places we stayed in South Africa felt much cleaner. The boma dinner was fun and I was surprised how reasonable of prices the vender selling the wooden animals was and so friendly. I wish I would have bought less from the Victoria Falls market and more from him.

We were set up on a Wild Horizons fishing trip through here and I would not recommend that. The waters were very over fished and we didn't get a nibble in 5 hours.

If I were to redo my trip, this is the one stop of my stay where I would look for somewhere else to stay.

Dear Molly I hope this note finds you well, Many thanks for the valued feedback on your recent visit. Its a delight to read that you enjoyed the Boma dinner and we are happy that you feel the rates from our friendly curio traders at the Boma are reasonable. It was lovely to host you in our Estate. While we appreciate your compliments that the rooms were neat, we note your comments on the carpets and the dust on the baseboards of the bathroom and we sincerely apologies for that. The carpets were recently changed in all our rooms. However, we have reminded the team on our cleaning procedures and this will result in continuous improvements in that area. We promise you even better service on your next trip. Please keep well.

What an amazing place to spend a few days. This hotel overlooks a watering hole so we were able to enjoy meals and cocktails while watching buffalo, elephants, monkeys and warthogs. The hotel is immaculate, and the staff is very friendly. Our package included the boat ride on the river , a visit to Victoria Falls ,an a la cart dinner and the boma dinner. The boat ride was on a luxury boat and included drinks and snacks. We saw many hippos, crocodiles and many birds. The sunset was stunning.
We found the meals to be very tasty and the blood Mary bar at breakfast was a fun treat. The Boma dinner was substantial and consisted of both African and Western foods, music, singing and dancing. There were also some craft people there so make sure to bring some cash in case you might want to buy some souvenirs. Our room was large and very clean. There is mosquito netting and we really appreciated the bonus of mosquito repellant for individual use and large spray for the room. There is a pool onsite as well. There seemed to be many other tours available for shopping, game drives or visiting town.
We were very happy with our stay and the staff could not have been nicer. We found the hotel and all facilities to be very clean and in very good condition.

This was a very good location in Victoria Falls. It is just outside of the main town so if you are interested in going to the brewery, distillery, restaurants and shops in town you will need to arrange a short ride.

The room was adequate for our needs. Room 6 had an outdoor patio looking over the bush and a glimpse of the water hole.

The waterhole was very active daily a a variety of wildlife at different times of the day.

The staff was very friendly from arriving, to the restaurants, to those the saw us off heading towards the airport.

Tip- This was our forth stop in Africa. We found the hotel to be very pricy in comparison to other 4/5 star hotels that we stayed at. This includes the room, food and drinks. This was the first location where they took full advantage of tourist pricing.

Overall it was a great stop but compared to prices.

A wondeful hotel nestled in the national park. Once you walkthrough reception you are hit with an ubelievable view of trees that go as far as the eye can see. In the centre is a watering hole where you will find a variety of animals living in and around it.
Our room had an ideal view of the vegetation, split over 2 floors with a private balcony area.
The restaurant and bar provide a good selection of drinks and food along with buffet and hot breakfast.
The staff are great, happy to chat and engage in conversation.
The hotel is about 10min drive to the Victoria Falls Town, a courtesy bus is provided from the hotel based on a schedule, however a taxi will go in either direction for $10USD.

We stayed at VFSL in June. We initially booked the Lokuthula Lodges, but had a last minute change of heart and opted for a watering hole facing room. The staff were able to accommodate. We arranged for airport pickup and drop off. Frank picked us up on the Zambian side, and he was incredibly helpful navigating the border crossing. The property is amazing, and has a nice rural feel to it while still providing all the services of a higher end location. The food was great, and I highly recommend booking activities through the lodge, as they provide activity vouchers for you and all you have to do is show up in the lobby. They even call your room if you are not there when the tour operator arrives. The rooms have a/c, which is a great help to cool down as it was particularly warm when we visited. The views are amazing, and I would definitely return if I came back to Victoria Falls.

Hello. Yes we offer free shuttles to the Falls daily. The Falls are easy to navigate on your own, therefore we would recommend simply visiting them on your own. We would only recommend a guided tour if you are wanting to learn about the history and facts about Victoria Falls. You may book through the hotel on arrival, or via email.
