#8 of 24 hotels in Victoria Falls
Travelers' Choice
Voted the best Safari Lodge in Zimbabwe for 23 years running, the world-famous Victoria Falls Safari Lodge offers easy access to the iconic Victoria Falls, coupled with a wildlife experience that is truly unrivalled. Now in its 25th year of welcoming guests, the Lodge is built on a plateau overlooking the Zambezi National Park with endless unspoilt views to the horizon, just four kilometers from the Falls. This is the only sunset facing hotel in Victoria Falls, and the newly-renovated rooms and balconies are built up above a central waterhole which attracts herds of buffalo, elephant, giraffe, zebra, as well as night-time predators, such as lion and leopard. Our warm and personable staff are our greatest pride. Past guests frequently comment on our team's sublime hospitality and seamless delivery. The main areas of the lodge, such as the MaKuwa-Kuwa restaurant and the homely Buffalo Bar, are rich in ambience and also overlook the central waterhole, where drinks and dinners are often shared with wildlife meandering down to the water each day to quench their thirst.

My husband and I stayed at the Vic Falls Safari Lodge from the 17th to the 21st September 2021 for our 41st wedding anniversary. I had no expectations except to relax and experience the Victory Falls. We were extremely satisfied with our lodging as we had a very good view of the watering hole. We watched the animals visiting the watering hole early morning. Seeing the elephants every day were the greatest treat. The staff were very professional, and caring, so it was easy to overlook the small stuff. Thank you Linn for the beautiful photo album and the personal message to us. Much appreciated . I wish the Safari Lodge many prosperous years and hope to visit you again. Warm Regards Wilhela and Kenny Gie - Port Elizabeth, South Africa

The Victoria Falls Safari Lodge certainly is a giant African tree house! The lodge is located on a hill which overlooks the Zambezi National Park. Everything about the lodge boasts "AFRICA". The main area in made up of the MaKuwa-Kuwa restaurant, the Buffalo Bar and the Vulture Deck. The area is open, with the only "walls" being the wooden pillars that hold up this "treehouse". The view from this area is one to behold! Guests look out onto a water hole which the wild animals come and drink from daily - you'll be mesmerized by the beauty of the bush and the wildlife. Each room has a King size bed and a private balcony with some looking out into the bush and others looking out onto the waterhole! Other rooms are the suites, which are double story and include a lounge area downstairs - perfect for a business trip! These rooms also overlook the waterhole. The MaKuwa-Kuwa restaurant is a 5-star experience. Meals are absolutely delicious, and service is impeccable. Other dining options are The Buffalo Bar for a lighter meal or the Boma Dinner & Drum Show for an exciting, traditional and interactive African experience! A vulture culture experience is held daily in front of the vulture deck, where the hotels guide feeds the vultures and educates guests about the importance of these birds in the African ecosystem. A wild experience as the vultures swoop down all at once to take their share! The staff at the lodge are amazing! Everyone is incredibly cheerful and helpful.

Our party of 3 stayed at the hotel for 2 nights in September 2021. We had a wonderful time. Hotel/Rooms: The lodge has a great location overlooking vast woodland areas and a waterhole. We could see the waterhole from our room and one morning, I saw a herd of elephants leaving the waterhole! Due to COVID, the Safari Club lounge and Dining area were open. The views from that area are phenomenal. The pools were chilly, but once you got in, they felt refreshing. The main pool is surrounded by plants, so by the end of the day, there are a lot of leaves/debris in the pool. One evening, we dipped in the pool, then watched the sunset over the waterhole and enjoyed a cold Zambezi beer. It was a wonderful way to end an adrenaline filled day at Vic Falls! Our room was very nice and had a very high ceiling. A mosquito net covered our bed, but I didn’t see any mosquitos in our room. Up in the ceiling, there were some spiders and their webs, but I guess that is expected in the African bush. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was huge! Staff: The entire staff was wonderful, attentive and friendly. Food: The food was delicious. The hotel uses reusable glass bottles and fills them with water, which is a great step in reducing plastic waste. Lookout Hide: We arranged to have a private guide for the “hide” located near the waterhole. The guide was Charles with Discover Victoria Falls. He was fantastic, very knowledgeable. COVID: The entire staff wore masks and guests wore masks in communal areas. I felt very comfortable during my entire stay. The hotel is taking COVID precautions seriously. Massage: Our entire party had a massage and they were wonderful! The massage room is just a regular hotel room adjusted to be a massage suite. The masseuse was fantastic and the massage was at a reasonable price! Overall: We had a wonderful stay and I would recommend this place to others.
