For any business to survive in Harare in the current situation is tough, by Amanzi Lodge, is a little bit of peace and quiet. About a 20 to 30 minute drive from the airport, it is within easy reach and conveniently situated for whatever you want to do in Harare. The staff are extremely welcoming and ensure that your every need is taken care off. The themed rooms are based on different countries in Africa. I stayed in the Kenya suite. The room was well appointed and tastefully decorated in an old Kenyan colonial style. The bed was comfortable and large. The room was nice and clean. The food on offer is basic but filling and enough to keep you going for the day. The salads were good and quality. There was a problem with electricity during our stay because the government had not paid its bills for a long time, however one night we did have a few hours of city power. All other times, power was provided by a generator, which the resort switches off at times to let it cool down. I recommend that everyone have a flashlight just in case. The WiFi is great and availability throughout the resort. Stay at this lodge. You will not be disappointed. Although they are going through tough times, the staff work really hard taking care of you. I look forward to going back again for business on a regular basis.

This lodge is very quiet and all the rooms I've see are well decorated and comfortable. We were there in winter but the bed was heated which was a real plus. The food is also very good and the hotel doesn't suffer too much from the electricity shortage of the rest of the country since they have their own generator.

We stayed a total of three different nights at the Amani’s over our trip to Zimbabwe. We used it as our launching pad on our various safaris. The lodge is set on lovely and well maintained grounds just north of Harare. A 20 minute ride from the airport. All the rooms are separate suites and are themed and named after various African countries. We found them to be well equipped and comfortable and the staff at the Amanzi was very gracious. They have a pool and a small workout facility. Our bartenders George and Hanson were very chatty and full of good info. The managers Jermaine, Ruth, and George helped us figure out our logistics and gave us plenty of good tips. Met the owner Andrew a few times and enjoyed talking with him. We will definitely use it as our base next time we visit.

Amazi is spectacular in its African pride, with rooms representing countries on the continent. Very spacious room with large bathrooms are maintained reasonably well. This means a little dusty and the bed wasn't made up all that great. To compensate they have a good breakfast spread although the concept of gluten free eating still hadn't taken off in June 2018. They did try and in all honesty I do travel with a variety of gluten free foods, just in case anyway. They did offer a free upgrade after my struggle with the bed. Which was nice, even though I didn't take it. They offer all the nice to haves that you can wish for, with friendly staff, a well stocked bar and conference facilities, it's just that their key holder are huge! ;-) Will use then again for sure for ladies and gents.

We booked 3 rooms and supposedly stay 3 nights but we moved out after the second night. For US$300 per room per night before levy, we did not expect such service quality.1. It was drizzling when we checked in. Being new to this country and lodge, we requested some bottled water and umbrellas so that we could avoid getting wet, especially we came with children. To our disappointment, the recipient of the front desk asked that we walk over to the front desk to collect the water and whatever we need ourselves2. Breakfast is terrible. In the first place, nobody offered us a menu and made known to us that the hot food is available through menu selection. Only when I asked then they bring the menu. Pancakes were burnt and the quality really sucks for US$300 per night.3. On the first night, when we returned to one of the rooms, we realised that the AC was not working ( anyway the whole place is very run down). We rang the front desk for help. She said she couldn't do anything and we need to wait until the next day. She did not offer us any solutions and expect us to bear with the stuffy room for rest of the night. What an attitude! Until the next day, nobody bothers to approach us to offer help. How not to move out ASAP!!!
