A nice hotel with a lot of history located in central part of Harare. Excellent old-fashioned customer service and attention to detail. Despite being built over 100 years ago, the rooms are comfortably large in the older sections of the hotel. Hotel has a rooftop pool.

Great location in the centre of Harare. Very comfortable rooms - only had an issue with the shower which was over the bathtub. The best thing were the staff - friendly and helpful without exception and always had a ready smile. The food was very good and the ambience was wonderful.

I love everything about this hotel, the room, the lobby, bars and restaurants, historic photos everywhere, helpful and friendly service, convenient location in the heart of the city, rooftop pool, 1st floor garden facing the city park, city view, quiet and relaxed. This is my first time to Harare and I was a little nervous about what I would find...

Initially got a room in the old wing, which was quite plain and certainly not Meikles standard; not happy at all with the state of the bathroom either. The staff were very accommodating and understanding, we were shifted to the new wing, the rooms there are definitely much comfortable and aesthetically appealing. Many thanks to Brian (front desk), Abraham (duty...

This is a lovely hotel in a country that is struggling, and that needs to be remembered when goings through the pros and cons. There are indeed holes in your towels and the sheets have occassionally seen better days. I stayed here a few times. Rooms in the old wing are darker but they are quieter, the new wing seems...

This hotel is an institution in Harare. It has the history. It is greatly located right in the heart of the city. All the front-office staff offer a very polished and efficient service. And in a nod to modernity, the wifi works well throughout the property. But, it is definitely not up to the standards that I would expect from...

The hotel was a mix of highs and lows.  It's a nice place, a bit "faded grandeur", but very clean and the gardens were beautiful.  My room was lovely, with an extra large bathroom, and I slept really well - a surprise for me.  This was a work trip, and I find that I often can't sleep in a strange...

Meikles, without a doubt, has to be, one of the more if not the most user-friendly hotels I have had the pleasure of staying in. Driving to the hotel if you do not have your eyes sky-bound, you are likely to miss the grand majesty of the structure and the little bit of sky it has stolen. Judging from the...
