I stayed in Jacana Lodge for four nights towards the end of a three-week trip across Zimbabwe, Botswana, Zambia and Malawi. Located in a quiet embassy area of the city, the place was clean, service was great and breakfast was delicious with generous portions. I had no problems getting access to high-speed internet in both my room as well as in other parts of the establishment. Owner / manager Rian provided me with very useful advice about Harare and the neighbouring areas. In addition to the above, to my pleasant surprise, both my room and the lodge's common areas were tastefully decorated with authentic art pieces from not only Zimbabwe but also other parts of sub-Saharan Africa. There were also a lot more cable TV channels than what I had expected. Most of the time I tuned in to RTP Internacional since I had been learning Portuguese. I would highly recommend this place to future travellers visiting the city for either work or pleasure. P.S. I would love to upload the different photos that I took but somehow this website does not quite support HEIC format files. Hope this feature will be enabled by TripAdvisor in the future.

This guest lodge is great, very clean and safe. The garden has amazing sculptures. I especially appreciate the solar system that keeps lights and power on during the long power cuts. Very friendly staff and owner. Highly recommend it.

We just stayed one night before we left Zimbabwe after 4 weeks of visit. Jacana Gardens was the best place to end our holidays. It was quiet, we had a good sleep, the owners, Rian and Wim were the bests hosts we met in Zimbabwe. Rian solves every problem and the house and garden shows, that she loves Zimbabwes artists. After a very good breakfast we had time to relax in the beautiful garden before we had to leave for our plane back home to Germany. Jacana Gardens is defintetely the best place to stay in Harare. If we come back to Zimbabwe, we will surely stay at this place again. Thank you Rian and Wim for your kind hospitality. May be we see us in Holland on a sailing boat. Martin and Jutta

Ideal for both pleasure or business trips. Wonderful & peaceful garden. Delicious breakfast. The host Rian is both discreet and efficient/helpfull when requested to solve a problem. Good WiFi and no power cuts. Located a little bit out of the city centre but a less than 5 min drive will bring you to a large shopping complex with several restaurants etc... Really the only lodge to consider in Harare…

Our little family group traveled from Jhb to Ethiopia and back on a amazing adventure that could have ended in a uncomfortable situation when we returned via Zimbabwe. Fortunately for us we found Rian @ Jacana Gardens. We had no USD , no Zim bonds and no cards worked in Zimbabwe. We also had practically no fuel. The four places we went to before Jacana , just shook their heads and said sorry we cant help , but welcome to Zimbabwe and we hope you have a lovely stay . Arriving at Jacana and seeing the luxurious surrounds and rooms we assumed that this high end lodge will have no time for our sorry story. We where dead wrong! Rian gave us the warmest welcome , listened to our sorry story and started finding solutions off the bat! First she made sure we had something to eat after our long ordeal @ 11pm in the night. Then she showed us to our awesome , stylish ,comfortable and well equipped rooms for a great nights rest. In the morning after a great sleep and hot shower we where treated to a scrumptious breakfast. Rian had by this time come up with a easily workable payment solution for Jacana's very reasonable room rates even at our South African standards , furthermore , she had arranged enough fuel for us to continue on our journey. Rian saved the day and spoiled us in all regards. We can highly recommend Jacana Gardens as a world class guest lodge with service exceeding expectations. Thank you Rian for your amazing hospitality!
