Our stay was great! Loved the stylish renovated family home. Breakfast was lovely and staff was amazing - very thoughtful and helped organized restaurant bookings, taxis, and even a co-working space to have a meeting with high speed internet next door. Loved it and was a home away from home. Highly recommended.

I am the colleague Kalyani was writing about. I completely concur with all she has said. The venue acted like a 'third' facilitator for our workshop. Everything worked together seamlessly. I loved being so close to the old Medina where it was easy to walk around the cobbled streets and enjoy the alleyways, beautiful carved doors, bougainvillea blossoms, souks and everyday life. With so many ordinary people moving about, with an old-world soulful charm, I didn't feel like I was in a highly prized tourist city. One night I enjoyed the sunset view from the rooftop restaurant at Dar El Jeld which is in close walking distance. I also really appreciated Leila's and the staff's efforts in making our stay so comfortable. Leila's passion and commitment for supporting the whole heritage sector is admirable. She is not only in the hotel industry for herself, she is constantly on the look out to see how her own business can support economic livelihood opportunities for local artisans and other community members.

We were the first visitors at the newly-opened property at 16 Rue Kahia, a short walk from the main hotel. A colleague and I ran a 3-day workshop for 15 people at this venue, and it was a wondeful experience for all of us. The space itself is exquisite - a lovingly restored old house in the traditional style with perfectly proportioned rooms around a serene central courtyard. Every detail of the restoration has been carefully thought through by Leila, a passionate advocate of neighbourhood renewal through sustainable tourism. There are many unique touches - the original handmade tiles on the walls of the courtyard, the ceilings decorated with geometrical carvings and calligraphy recreated from ancient scripts, the antique furniture and carpets, the collection of local pottery displayed to best effect, the books on local art and culture, the collection of terracotta urns on the roof, the cushioned private nooks, and most of all the seamless blending of inside and outside - everything is charming and comfortable. But what made the experience really special for us was the warmth and care with which Leila and her staff anticipated and addressed our every need. The cheerful and creative chef gave us carefully curated traditional meals (with vegetarians feeling well taken care of!) and plied us with an array of home-made snacks and pastries. Rhouma, Mohammed and their colleagues on the housekeeping team were always at hand, meeting all our requests with aplomb. Leila's personal touch was evident everywhere - she checked in with us every day to make sure that everything was going well. Our thanks and appreciation to Leila and her team. many of us plan to come back for a relaxed holiday and explore Tunis at leisure.

What a nice hotel in the midst of the old Medina. The owner Leila is amazing. She put her heart and soul to restore this old house into an elegant but not flashy hotel. They only have 7 rooms. We were pampered. The food is local but delicious. No complaint from us here. Will come back to visit.
