What a fabulous place to stay. A beautiful Art Deco Building right in the centre with easy access to the Medina, shops, restaurants, railway, etc. The staff were efficient, helpful and friendly from the Reception to the dining room staff and housekeeping. On arrival we were allocated a room on the lst floor at the rear of the building. There was a small block of flats not far from the hotel building where unfortunately there was a dog that barked a lot of the time which included late into the night and very early morning. It appeared to be left out on the balcony. I don't know what the hotel can do about this but it is a problem. The next day we were given a room on the 3rd floor at the front of the building. So thank you to the gentleman at reception who arranged this. It was perfect, no noise and like the first room was of a decent size and comfortable. The breakfast spread was great with hot and cold dishes and a lovely selection of cheeses, breads, pastries and much much more. A true feast. A well deserved Excellent rating (despite the barking dog) and we will definitely stay again.

I reserved for my sister who has training in Tunis …Since day one she was the victim of bullying from the security or guard who is standing in the door who asked her if she is an hotel resident ..it sounds normal question but the way he said it was impolite..than he turned to his colleague and whispered to him that for sure someone paid for her!! My sister felt bad because of this disrespect ( as if she looks poor and has no money to pay by herself !!)and complained to the receptionist who apologized immediately. At the same day she lost her glasses when she left the room then when she asked them they sent 3 cleaners, one of them tended to take the intention of my sister to look in her bag ..and the other went inside the bathroom and brought the eye glasses and assumed that it was there from the beginning ..although my sister was sure that she looked there before and it was not there !! The next day they refused to clean her room because of that !! I m really shocked that an issue with one person could become a revenge in an important hotel like Carlton!! There is no respect for Tunisian tourists or residents..I feel very embarrassed that I choose this hotel for her ..Especially that a 5 star hotel near to them was giving offer at the same price , that will be the last time we go there and I don’t recommend it for “Tunisians”!! People there are terrible except the receptionist who were a good listener..but we didn’t see any action to solve the issue..just indifference !

If you want to sleep, do NOT stay in this hotel where the loud noise from the disco next door goes on til 3am. Manager refused a room change. Horrible customer service since they knew in advance of the noise problem.? I would never recommend this hotel unless you want to party all night.

Stayed one night in early April. Was a bit worried by the reviews. I have to say, it exceed the expectations. Had stay the previous night at a boutique establishment in La Marsa that was horrible that had great reviews and was expecting the Carlton to be cheap and cheery but found it instead to be very nice and the front desk was professional and polite. The reception area is clean and well presented. Highlights: 1. Room was exceptional and large with nice view overlooking the promenade in front of the hotel 2. Breakfast was nice and varied 3. Wif. No issues 4. Price point was excellent 5. Security was polite and present 6. Location. Easy to find and central (12 TND bolt ride from airport) Improvement points. 1. Tub in bathroom, glass allowed water to get on the floor, recommend that next refurb to put in a walk in shower. 2. Need a coffee service or kettle in the room 3. There is a lot of noise but nothing that I found horrible. Would recommend and would stay again.

I used this hotel in 2020. It was acceptable to some extent but now I was completely disappointed. Noisy, didn't sleep at night. The small fridge inside the room and some machinaey (probably the heater) outside made terrible noise. In the mornings, the cleaning ladies were talking loudly in the hall for at least 15 minutes. I found a lot of hair in my bed and someone stuck chewing gum near the bed (please see the pictures). Wi-Fi was very bad and kept disconnecting in the 4th floor. I asked to change the room but they said the hotel was full. The bathroom was not good either. Water accumulating when you take a shower. This can't be a 3 stars hotel!

We were a group of girls, and we haven't visited Tunisia before. However, the staff were very supportive and kind. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was rich and delicious. The location was safe even in nights. Overall, it was a good and enjoyable experience!

Situated in the middle of town Tunis, Hotel Carlton is the perfect position to visit Tunis. The art all arround, the comfort of rooms, the WONDERFUL view, the staff so nice and professional, the food delicious, everything is there for to make your stay the perfect one. I was alone in a little holliday to descover the wonders of Tunis architecture and beauty and Hotel Carlton made my holliday a perfect gift for me. You should try the "horns of gaselle" is a sweet that you will never forget like the "local lemonade. Thank you for my perfect holliday, I will always return with pleasure there!

3 star trying to mask as a 4 star. Terrible customer service. Room safe was not working, front desk would not fix. Had to change batteries and fix myself. In room fridge not working, had to fix myself. Asked for 2 extra pillows, one flimsy delivered. Was told hotel had only 1 extra pillow for entire hotel. Tried to get hotel to store 2 pieces of luggage as we were returning in two days. Hotel told us "no, not possible". Positive :restaurant staff very friendly.

This hotel has real pros and cons. Ultimately, when I came back to Tunis after a week at the beach, I decided not to return and stay elsewhere. Pros: - has character, amazing location, breakfast spread is fantastic, staff are super helpful (especially the breakfast staff!) - super clean. The cleaning staff are AMAZING. Cons: - no functioning wifi. For a hotel in 2021 with this pricing, I was really disappointed. It basically goes in and out non-stop. The staff pretend its being fixed or there is a technician, but truly it very rarely works and if it does, don't expect any speed to have a whatsapp call or stream a video. Most of the time I had to use mobile data. - the walls are paper thin. The service telephone in the hallway would start ringing at 8am non-stop, it might as well have been in my room. On a number of occasions I would go out and answer it myself. Very painful. - no luggage storage, like cmon... - the security guards, while doing their job, were not friendly at all. Basically, for the amount they charge - you can get much better value.
