We love the River Camp location! We had good food, a well tended, spacious tent and solar heated shower. We were in close proximity to the Mara a River where we saw a small crossing. 2 years ago when we were at the River Camp’s previous temporary location, we saw a huge crossing. The herds went west this year. We stayed in tent 4. It is a short walk from the main tent which is the only area where you can get Wi-Fi
We were searching for our camp and stranded at 7pm in the river camp. The Manager called DC, immediatly took care of us , found out the location of our lodge and contacted the manager. As it was to late to drive there, he made sure that we could stay at the river camp and organised that people from our lodge would pick us up the next morning. DC handled all the issues including ours with aplomb, always calm with a remarcable overview. The camp is of high standard, the luxury tents are spacious and very well equiped.
We loved the River Camp experience! We stayed in a bunch of Serena Lodges around the Serengeti area, which were all very nice of course, but River Camp was our favorite place due to the Karibu spirit. Samwell regaled us with stories of climbing Kilimanjaro five times and gave us good tips on routes. Harshil was awesome, we had a lot of fun chatting with him about waking up his friend Sid ;). All in all a fantastic experience, would definitely go back!
We had a fantastic stay in the River Camp; the camp had gorgeous views of the sunset in the Serengeti and beautiful grounds with a spacious lounge, bar, and lovely dining area. We loved waking up to the mighty lion's roar early in the morning to start our day! The rooms were also spacious and comfortable with hot showers and great amenities. Food was excellent. To top it off, we absolutely loved the friendly and hospitable staff; they went out of their way to make sure we were having a great time! The service was among the best we found throughout our entire stay in Tanzania!
My family stayed for one night as part of our safari package. The tented camp felt like pure luxury in the middle of the Serengeti. We arrived after a long day of game driving to a wonderful hot shower, bathrobe, lounge chairs; and a delicious dinner. The staff and service was top notch. The best thing about this camp is the location - it’s a mobile camp moving every few months to follow the animals. As a result we were right in the center of the migration. We saw multiple crossings of Masi Mara river on the same day including one where a juvenile wildebeest was attacked and ultimately consumed by a troop of crocodiles - really amazing viewing.
