Inspired by a traditional African village this extraordinary lodge presents a vibrant design concept rich in indigenous craft and cultural detail that is without compare. Set high on a hill with rolling visas over the teeming plains of a natural amphitheater it also enjoys a ringside seat for the greatest show on earth, the annual migration of the wildebeest.

The lodge's atmosphere, infused with traditional decor and vibrant entertainment, captivates many visitors. Although some have raised concerns over room allocation and size, the comfortable accommodations and quality amenities, including a picturesque pool and diverse dining options, generally receive high marks. Terrible Experience. I paid a very high price and had a very unpleasant experience. It was terrible. I definitely made a reservation at the Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge and it was confirmed. However, on the afternoon of the reservation day, they said they had no space at Safari Lodge and would move our group to a better accommodation. And after going off-road for over an hour, we arrived at a tent, not a lodge. It was already dark and no further movement was possible, so they said we had no choice but to sleep there. So we had no choice but to sleep there, and they said they couldn't give us a refund since we had already slept there. No matter how good the Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge is, even if you booked there, you could end up staying in a tent in another remote location. Even though its name is Serena, you should know that it is on a whole different level from the Safari Lodge you chose. I wouldn't want to take that risk again. What's even more problematic is that this isn't the first time this has happened, and it happens often. I would say that paying big money and booking Serena Lodge is a bit of a risk.

A honeymoon with the wait. The vast plains seemed idylic and such an Amazon mg experience. The rooms are nice although once again Abit outdated, but the experience of the bush made up for all of it. From the guides to the staff everything was top notch. Beautiful meals and lunch boxes.

We traveled to the Serena hotel in the Serengeti to get married whilst on a holiday in Tanzania , from the initial booking of the wedding they were absolutely fantastic we only gave them 7 weeks notice and they communicated and organised it so well and stress free, the accommodation is absolutely beautiful and so spotlessly clean and the staff service is fantastic along with the food . I unfortunately got sick before I arrived and the hotel had a doctor waiting for me who gave me everything I needed and the care was second to none thank you Dr Kate 🙏. Vincent also had to do a lot of reorganising for the wedding day because of my sickness but he did this without any complaints which I am so grateful for . The wedding day was beautiful and so well organised and special with traditional singers and dancers and the ceremony in the bush they all made the day so special for us, they truly could not have done more for us ! Thank you Vincent and all the staff you are all wonderful we look forward to returning some day 🫶☺️ Séamus & Carol

Spent 3 nights at here whilst on safari. The rooms are beautiful, wood carved beds, balconies overlooking the Serengeti. The staff are superb, so friendly and helpful. The chefs at breakfast always greeted us well, ready to cook our eggs with a smile and a joke. The picnic lunches were really good and also catered for gluten intolerances. The food overall was the best of all of the Serena lodges we stayed in during our trip. Overall amazing time. Thank you Serena Serengeti

What began as a long-shot discussion amongst family to someday go on an African Safari turned rapidly into reality when things evolved, and tickets were purchased. All of a sudden, a group of 6 of us were going ~ for real !! For 13 days !! Flying into Kenya, overland to Tanzania and back to Kenya for our return flights home. All reservations for travel and stay in Kenya and Tanzania were arranged as an all-inclusive package by ASDL, our tour operator… all we had to do was get our visas, air tickets and the essential vaccinations. Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge in Tanzania is built in the same style as the Lake Naivasha Sopa Resort and is just as delightful. The lodge is located atop a hill, overlooking vast tracts of the Serengeti spread out below, with expansive views of the hills and valleys surrounding this site. The public areas are beautifully laid out, in small and large interconnecting structures, with covered linking passages and flowing pools filled with water lilies and other plants between them… and loads of loudly chorusing bullfrogs ~ quite a cacophonous choir ! The lounges and dining areas spill seamlessly into one another, and onto a surrounding covered verandah, which serves as a seating and dining space, and overlooks an outdoor infinity-edge pool. The pool is a wonderful place to soak, cool and watch the brilliant, dazzling sunset… quite an unparalleled, relaxing experience at the end of a long day chasing the dust and heat of the Serengeti..!! The pool area apparently also offers saunas and massages (available for an additional fee, of course) to soothe away aches and pains from the bumpy trails. The guestrooms are arranged four to a 2-story unit, spread along the edge of the same hill with views across the vast valley below. Wildlife and birds roam freely throughout the property and surroundings. One particularly striking bird running all around the grounds is a variety of Toucan, with a much less prominent and colorful bill than the hornbill version. Meals are generally served “buffet” style, and are all-inclusive, with the exception of dinks. Drinks are extra, and pricey ! The spread is extensive: offering many choices of non-veg, veg, vegan and some unfathomable cuisines. But desserts are blah ! They should concentrate on the simple ones… trifle, caramel custard, and the like. All in all.. ENTIRELY worth the trip, and the money. Thank you, Gentlemen !

Where do I start. Throughout our travels we have never had this kind of Customer Service! like we had at this lodge. If you want to celebrate a big birthday or any kind of travel, where attention to detail is key, this place checks off all the boxes! From management all the way down to every person we encountered we couldn't have asked for a better Birthday celebration. Thank you and especial mentions to Barakael who was our server at birthday dinner, Joshua executive chef, Ebeneszar always greeted us at restaurant, Emmanuel server at breakfast and dinner who made sure we had the same table every day and assistant manager John Massa . Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making this an epic trip of a lifetime. Some pictures below of wonderful staff who took care of us and beautiful scenery. I wish TripAdvisor would allow videos because I would love to post the video of everyone who sang happy birthday to me in Kiswahili and English, it was so genuine and heartfelt. When traveling to the Serengeti this will definitely be our lodge of choice.

A wonderful place, with friendly and helpful people who do everything they can to provide us with an excellent experience. The hotel is beautiful, the cottages where the rooms are located are unique and allow us to feel integrated into nature but in comfort. Magical views, great food... everything you could wish for and more.

We stayed at this property for one night. The room was comfortable and spacious. The beds were netted which is appreciated. Furnishings were basic but that was completely fine - there was everything we needed. The grounds of the property are very lush and beautiful. Lots of wildlife around - including zebras on the front lawn when we were leaving very early for our balloon pickup. The staff were friendly and the welcoming performance was very nice. They had live music in the bar area and the seating there was comfortable and welcoming. The food choices at dinner were fantastic. Some of the best we had on our whole trip. The only issue was that there were a lot of people in the serving areas and no organization so people were going in different directions and it was chaotic. This lodge was the largest that we stayed at and we found it to be very busy after relatively quiet stays at the other stops. Would recommend.

We stayed for 2 nights while on safari. The rooms are clean and tidy with mosquito nets, but the shiwer rooms are on the small size. The rooms are in blocks of four and the upper two are doubtless the best. We were therefore dissapointed to be allocated a lower one despite the hotel being quiet. The restaurant was good, although the salad selection was poor, and the staff very friendly.
