Lamai Serengeti was our first stop on our Tanzania safari. We could not have asked for a better experience. We are a family of 5 (including 3 teenagers) and we all agreed that this place is a must for anyone traveling in Tanzania. From the very first impression of Helen and Clyde greeting us with a wet cloth on a... More

The Lamai Serengeti is the perfect place to stay - Helen and Clyde are incredibly gracious hosts. From our gorgeous and comfortable room we had a beautiful view and one night were woken up by a herd of elephants loudly eating right outside our door! Each day we went out with our knowledgeable guide Mussa and traversed through the most... More

We had a fabulous time at Lamai Serengeti, excellent game viewing with a great guide (Mussa), wonderful food, extremely comfortable. The staff very friendly, many thanks to Clyde, Helen and the team for a fantastic visit. The only complaint is that we weren't there long enough.

The Lamai Serengeti is one of the most stunningly beautiful and peaceful places I have ever been to! Everything about the place is perfect: the main lodge, the meals, the room lodges, the safaris, the attention to detail - EVERYTHING will leave you amazed!!

Absolutely stunning! Location, views, food, service & accommodation not to mention the game viewing & the crossings! Stayed for 4 nights with my wife & 2 daughters (14 & 12) in mid August 2016 in family unit (No 7). Room was fantastic, lovely rustic feel & is a good size with balcony & those stunning views. Despite just 1 bathroom... More

Our stay at Lamai was unforgettable - in an amazing way! Clyde and Helen were so wonderful and accommodating. The staff are all so nice. We arrived and were told about the facilities and rules etc. Our room was fresh and airy. We were a little wary with one side of the room being so open - made of mosquito... More

As with the other Nomad places I stayed, Lamai was a real haven that contributed to the great experience I had in the Serengeti. Room was beautiful, overlooking the plains (and the sunrise), with a very comfortable bed, spacious bathroom (hot showers at night!) and a beautiful balcony for each room from which to just chill and watch the Serengeti... This was an amazing place to stay. It was the last stop on our Safari Trip (after stops in Tarangire National Park and Ngorongoro Crater) and it was a great place to finish. We spent 3 nights there and each day was great. The room was fantastic (we stayed in #8) and it had a great view. Being built into... More

Our family of 8 (5 adults 3 kids) stayed at the Lamai Mkombe house in July 2016. It was an amazing place and was so nice to have our own house, wait staff, and pool. We had sweeping views of the Serengeti, the rooms were spacious and designer, the bathrooms were plush, and the communal dining and living areas were... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
If you were to visit only one place in the Serengeti, it should be here. This is no idle boast; the iconic Kogakuria kopje in northern Serengeti. A few years ago the Tanzanian government chose a handful of responsible companies to build small permanent lodges in this remote sector of the Serengeti. Nomad Tanzania was offered the prime site and Lamai Serengeti now sits tucked amongst the rocks of Kogakuria Kopje with panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Beautifully designed open-fronted rooms, a spacious lounge and clear pool provide an ideal place to escape to for some relaxation in between your wildlife adventures, for both families, groups and couples. The area boasts year-round fantastic game viewing, including the Big 5, and between July and November, the wildebeest migration moves through, crossing the Mara River in dramatic fashion just 20mins from the lodge. ... more   less
