Lamai is in the most beautiful and tranquil place and we could not have hoped for a better honeymoon. The safari guides are excellent - Lazaro knew the name of every single tiny bird in the Serengeti - and make the safari experience very special. Everyone at the camp was so welcoming. Most of all, we saw the most amazing...

From the moment we arrived at Lamai, my husband and I were greeted with the warmth of an amazing staff...all of whom took great pride and caring in their roles. The setting is dream-like, not just with views, but by actually being cradled in the expanse of the Serengeti...with the sights, sounds and majesty of the animals all around. The...

Lions roaring next to our screened cabin at night, viewing wildlife from the deck and our safaris were amazing. An abundance of wildlife in a stunning setting. Lions, gnus, zebras, elephants, impalas... and that's seen just from the lodge!

This camp is simply stunning, hands down the best view you could get in the Serengeti. The entire property is so individual, and you feel right at home straight away. Not to mention the staff at Lamai. They are wonderful, smiles all the time, nothing too much trouble, they really want you to enjoy every second of your safari. All...

The last night at sunset, the staff served us dinner in our cottage (on the private deck) with superb wine and delicious food. The staff could not have been nicer. We felt like we were with family. Our tour guide, Remtula...

We stayed at Lamai for four nights during our 'Sisters on Safari' trip in September 2016. The entire experience couldn't have been better. Wonderful 'rooms' (more villa's actually) with lots of privacy, very comfortable beds (don't be surprised to find a hot water bottle when you return from dinner), a huge bathroom and a veranda with views over the Serengeti...

From the moment we touched down we knew we were in a special place! The journey to the camp set the scene and on arrival we were greeted by the very warm and friendly staff. Our room had a fabulous view and we slept wonderfully under the mosquito nets whilst listening to the wonderful Serengeti noises - the best nights...

Located on a small hillside with spectacular views over the Serengeti, Lamai is miles from anywhere else. All the rooms have great views, ours was the way up the hill but worth the climb every time and always accompanied after dark by a Masai guard who was helpful and friendly. The room had a big double bed with mosquito net,...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
If you were to visit only one place in the Serengeti, it should be here. This is no idle boast; the iconic Kogakuria kopje in northern Serengeti. A few years ago the Tanzanian government chose a handful of responsible companies to build small permanent lodges in this remote sector of the Serengeti. Nomad Tanzania was offered the prime site and Lamai Serengeti now sits tucked amongst the rocks of Kogakuria Kopje with panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Beautifully designed open-fronted rooms, a spacious lounge and clear pool provide an ideal place to escape to for some relaxation in between your wildlife adventures, for both families, groups and couples. The area boasts year-round fantastic game viewing, including the Big 5, and between July and November, the wildebeest migration moves through, crossing the Mara River in dramatic fashion just 20mins from the lodge. ... more   less
