Previous reviewers have said it all and our list of animals/birds seen too long to put here though seeing a little Leopard Tortoise [not a giant one] in the wild was a first for us as was the Side Stripped Jackal. We visited first Kusini camp for four nights then Kakessio [main camp] for four nights which we thought was... More

I have been lucky to have stayed at numerous safari camps across Africa over many years. Escaping people and vehicles is becoming more and more of an issue especially in the likes of the Serengeti. I have just returned from Alex Walker's Serian Kakessio deep in the south of the short grass plains within the NCA. The rains have been... More

A remarkable wildlife experience embedded in two remote locations, Kusini and Kekesia, within the Southern reaches of the Serengeti. My host, Alex Walker and his crew which included my daily guides, Solomon (a Tanzanian guide and driver) and Joseph (a local Massai spotter) provided memorable days gasping at the abundant wildlife, tracking the ever elusive leopard, soaking up the breathtaking... An amazing week at this top class tented camp - an ideal location for the short grass migration and a wonderful assortment of animal and bird life. Luxury tent with king sized bed and all amenities we could want plus the soothing night time sounds of nearby grazing wildebeest. The food was exceptional, both in camp and for our picnic... More

From the moment we were picked up from the airport - we had a dream-like experience. The profound wildlife knowledge of our guide who was also the driver and the unbelievable game spotting abilities of the Maasai spotter made the safari experience unbelievable. We saw a pride of lions, within 20 minutes of driving past giraffes, zebras, and elephants. The... More

This was our first stop during our Tanzania safari trip. This camp is located right close to the Mara river. The best thing about this camp is that they give you your own safari vehicle along with your own guide and spotter. No need to worry about adjusting your schedules with other families. We were guided by two excellent locals... More

My wife and i had always wanted to go on a Safari and we couldn't have chosen better than Alex Walker's Serian. We stayed at both northern camps and the game viewing was spectacular with knowledgeable guides and luxurious tents with a hot shower to come back to after a long game drive. The food was excellent throughout our stay... More

We stayed here with 2 kids (ages 10 and 13) for 5 nights. We stayed in the huge family suite. The attention to detail was impressive. Hot water bottles before bed were a nice touch. Food was amazing, always fresh and yummy, even the kids who are picky eaters loved it. We went in Feb so we were the only... More

This was my first experience in a tent for accommodation. The bed was "just right" the food was excellent and the bucket shower was a hoot with the tent attendant standing outside the tent asking if I needed another bucket of hot water...my first interactive showering experience. The staff and guests made this camp our favorite stop while in Africa.... More

Lovely 4 nights split between Alex's two camps, which are both currently located in the Southern Serengeti; Kusini the smaller camp actually in the park and the larger and slightly more luxurious camp in the Ngorogoro Conservation area. Both these camps move north later in the year to follow the wildebeest migration. Needless to say we saw wildebeest as far... More
