I can not even explain how much our family loved everything about the Lahia lodge experience! While the location may feel a bit isolated, it is well worth it! From the lobby to the rooms, this lodge is simply magical. A huge circular lobby with amazing views of the Serengeti and a lovely breeze all make the lobby / restaurant experience so wonderful. The rooms themselves were huge, tastefully designed, and just so convenient. Small touches like a water dispenser in every room - with both cold and hot water - an amazing touch that no other lodge/hotel in Tanzania had! The outdoor shower was beautiful and always had hot water. The staff here made this feel like visiting family! Tabitha, Whitney and Robert were so warm, helpful and sweet. It was just such a pleasure to return from a game drive and find them warmly welcoming us back. The chefs here were the most accommodating and eager to delight us with tasty and unique vegetarian meals. Our family of 4 simply didn’t want to leave and we were so thankful that we had 2 nights here. Would highly recommend eating lunch in the lodge itself as that was delicious also! Portions were huge but we enjoyed everything! We loved our dinners where they would bring a 4-5 course dinner to our table.

Lahia Tented Lodge was a paradise located on the top of a hill - from our room we could see the fields of wildebeest moving during the migration! As mentioned in the title of this review, there is an exquisite outdoor shower - excellent views (while still being private) and also great heat and water pressure. Dinners and breakfasts were excellent in the main lodge, which has an open ceiling in the center so looking up, it's like you're seeing the sky like in a planetarium. The lodges were clean and spacious, and the beds were very comfortable.

WOW!!! This place is Amazing!!! This was a real treat to stay here after camping and we loved it. The location of the Lahia is spectacular, the pool and the view onto the Serengeti is breathtaking. The food is A la carte and delicious. The tents were so spacious and the outdoor showers were a lovely touch. We had our four kids here and wished we had time to stay longer. The sunset drinks up on the mountain was a real treat, Joyce and Rose thank you for singing to us, we will always remember that beautiful song.

We stayed 2 nights between the 5th and 6th July. We were thoroughly impressed with the lodge itself, the location and generally the environment. The first night, the lodge was fully booked hence lots of guests and we could see that the staff were struggling as they were short in numbers. It was disappointing to see as it was taking away the great experience we were having. As a family with a young child I would also say that the provision for an outdoor shower only is difficult as we never had hot enough water to be able to have a comfortable shower, but certainly no shower for the young one! It was too cold outside!
Apart from the negatives, I would consider visiting again. The staff tried their best filling as many roles as they could!

Dear bhaveshm1, Thank your for your feedback and for sharing with the TripAdvisor with the Community. We are sorry that your experience due to the service did not excel your stay. Our outside showers work in optimal circumstances. Because the Camp runs mainly with solar Energy should the Weather not be good during the day we run with individual tent reservoirs and these if high consumption can be a little challenge. We appreciate that despite the negative points raised in your feedback you will consider visiting back. Asante sana

What an incredible place to base your stay in the Serengeti. The views from the rooms are million dollar - views over the Serengeti plains where you can see all kinds of wildlife.
The rooms are spacious, we loved the luggage storage area upon entering which keeps the rest of the room clutter free.
The bed is large and comfortable (pillows not so much) and a mosquito net to keep the bugs out. Lots of creature comforts, and our favourite thing was the outdoor shower - what a novelty to have a hot shower under the stars!
The shared facilities were great, with a beautiful pool with a view and great dining area that still felt private even though you were sharing with others.
Like most places in Africa, we were kept well fed with a big selection at breakfast, the ability to pack your own lunches if going out on safari or return for a hot lunch, and dinner was always a soup, salad, and then a selection of about six different dishes of meats/veg for your main. Food was tasty, nothing spectacular but no issue there.
Staff were wonderful and always helpful, and a great surprise was that we thought we had to pay for all our drinks but house beers and wine and local gin was included.
Laundry is available but pricey at $1 USD per item.
Location for views is spectacular but does take about 1.5 hours to get back to the Central Serengeti so its better suited for early starts/all day safari drives rather than a morning and an evening as it takes awhile to get anywhere.

In the middle of the Serengeti national park, on top of a high hill, Lahia tented lodge is located.
With a huge dining area, infinity pool, and a 360 degrees view all over you, it was an amazing experience.
The staff were very friendly and nice, and paid attention to the little details. The food was excellent, and the chef is very talented. The menu was different every night, and the chef used to come to every table and read the menu. The room service was excellent, especially the laundry service (which you will use alot in the Safari) which was really cheap and fast.
The room- or more specific: the fancy tent- was amazing. Althogh you're in the middle of no where But it has everything you need: a private entrance, very huge, a safe, a queen size bed, sofas facing the jungle, a fan, coffee tea kettle, a balcony, and everything you can think about. Waking up early to the sounds of the animals while the zebras and impalas are around your tent was amazing.
During the night it got a little cold (we were there in July) but there are extra blankets.
Be careful also that there is no indoor shower, only outdoor!! So if it's cold, this issue might be a problem.

we stayed at Lahia for one night on July 15 and we still regret not staying there for longer. Let me just start off by saying how nice and friendly the staff were. The manager Joyce was super sweet and so friendly, she would check in on us and come and start a conversation too to make sure we were completely comfortable. the chef would come ask us what we wanted to eat since we were the only ones there and every one of the staff were amazing! Our room was not too far from the restaurant so we didn't have to walk too far but even if we did they do have a buggy to take you to and from your rooms with a Maasai for your safety. The views at Lahia were absolutely breathtaking!! You get a 360 degrees view of the Serengeti and both the sunrise and sunset. the infinity pool was beyond amazing. you could see so much of the Serengeti just from the pool. I would highly recommend visiting Lahia!!

First of all, the location is spectacular. With views over the serengeti, you really saw the wildebeast migration from a far. We loved that. And the pool is just stunning, it unfortunately also attracts a lot of mosquitos, but hey, you're in the Serengeti;)

The views from the room are very beautiful and the outside shower was a plus!

What made it average was the food and how the staff is treating you. They really could improve in their guest services. It took too long before orders were taken or being delivered or sometimes they even forgot about the question you asked.

The food was very very below standards compared to the rest of the lodges in the Serengeti. They switched from a-la-carte to a buffet, probably because of keeping the prices lower during covid times. But if you were a little late for dinner or breakfast there was basically nothing left. Food was overcooked, cold and just very tasteless. They should improve big.

For us, the price this lodge is asking, is just not worth the service and experience they are delivering. Don't get me wrong, the views are breathtaking, but you expect more for this price. Has a lot of potential though!

We were there for 2 nights. Staff is lovely.
The view is fantastic. The room is also very nice. The shower oustide is somehow an experience but I personnaly did not appreciate it because of insects at night.
When you walk from/to your room to the restaurant, someone will escort you. During the night we could here lions not far which was a great experience.
The pool is also fantastic.
The problem was the food.We had 2 dinners there and there was not a lof of choices.
I have been also sick but can't confirm this is due to the food at this lodge but felt miserable for 2 days after our stay.
The other problem is the location. During December, there is no much animal around and our guide had to drive back to/from Central serengeti for the game drive overwise we would not have seen leopards, elephants, buffalos...
I would have preferred to stay in Central as we spent too much time driving to get back to this lodge

Excellent service and a professional well managed staff. Attentive to all details from the moment we arrive til the morning we left. Unparalleled views! Joyce the Manager was at our beck and call and ensured that our food was ready on time, that our picnic lunches were top notch and met peculiar dietary requirements. She was there first thing in the morning until the last thing at night. The Masai staff members who provided after hours escort through the camp were always attentive and great to talk to. Food was phenomenal and plentiful! Rooms were immaculate and very comfortable! I will be back!
