We stayed here with family of 8 in May 2022. It's about 1,5 hours drive from the visitor's centre in the Western part of Serengeti. It's an amazing place where you can spot animals from your tented lodge. The infinity pool offers great views and after a day of safari tour a great refreshment. Food is excellent, but especially staff is fantastic. We stayed 3 nights at tented lodge and received a very warm goodbye. The lodge itself offers everything you could wish for and an amazing view over Serengeti. Only thing you need to be careful about is the tsetse fly, especially in wet season.
This luxury lodge was beyond any expectation I may have had. Considering that it was located deep in the Serengeti, I was not prepared for this gem. We stayed for a total of three nights. When we arrived, we were greeted by the friendliest most helpful staff. We were a large group but the check in process was smooth and quick. Our bags were taken to our beautifully appointed room with the most spectacular panoramic view of the Serengeti. Our comfortable king size beds came with nightly turn down service. THE OUTDOOR SHOWER!!!!! what a charm. This was our room's best feature. The food was delicious with a huge variety served by the most amazing staff. I can't mention all the staff by name but I was blown away by their hospitality and kindness. I felt safe with the Maasai security who escorted us to and from our room before dawn and after dark. I cannot say enough nice things about this place; the ambience, the tranquility, the spectacular vistas, the attention to detail, the infinity pool, even the telescope that was available to guests so we could see far beyond the horizon. I unreservedly recommend this resort if you are ever in the western side of the Serengeti.…
We stayed in Lahia Tented Lodge as part of a safari trip in the Serengeti - we were blown away by the beauty of the hotel and the landscape that surrounds it. The hotel takes a while to get to but it is SO worth it - the idea of the hotel is to blend in with its natural environment so you really feel like you are in the heart of this beautiful landscape. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and the meals are fantastic. We had some of the best meals in Tanzania in this hotel. Cocktails at sunset by the pool will blow you away!
We stayed there for two nights, This was one of the best accommodation we stayed at. Got interconnected rooms which very huge with a beautiful balcony, view of the plains, and outdoor shower. All the drinks were included, there were appetizers and snacks in the evening, Chef made fresh spring rolls, cake, and samosa. Dinner is served family-style, basically, buffet at your own table. On special request chef also served us Indian dishes one night. The staff was very welcoming, always smiling. Loved the location of the lodge also, close to western Serengeti with a 360-degree view. Laundry is only $1 per piece.
An oasis in the middle of a dessert. Staff are extremely friendly. Food was scrumptious. Tented lodges were peaceful. The outdoor showers at the lodges to die for. The infinity pool with a view of the Serengeti was incredible. Joyce, the manager was friendly and attentive to our needs and made all 23 of is happy. Rose was extremely attentive to us at the lodges. Whitney made our stay special and remembered all our names in a short space of time. She waited on us with intention. Tabitha was the waiter extraordinaire and danced like no other and gave us a great experience. The Maasai was great security because we are in the middle of the Serengeti and the animals including lions walkers around the tents. They walked us back to our lodges every night with no issues. Chris loves us like family and gave us everything we need. We promise to be back again. This is not the last time visiting this place.…
Wow! What a beautiful lodge in a very beautiful location. We would have loved to spend more time here but unfortunately we had a tight safari schedule. 😜. Lovely rooms with a nice veranda with stunning views and an outdoor shower, great swimming pool. The food was nice also although they served it in such big quantities that a lot probably gets thrown away. This could be better. Our daughters had organized a sundowner event as a present for our 25th wedding anniversary here and that was 💯
Lahia camp is a great place to stay. The hotel is spectacular. Its location in the park is one of the best, on a hill with incredible views. The facilities are fantastic, swimming pool, a circular dining room to see the sunrise and sunset. And very professional and friendly service staff.
The "Tokans"sung "the lion sleeps tonight and we heard them sleeping near our tents every night, this is how close you are to the wildlife of the Serengeti when you stay at Lahia Tented lodge... Oh my what a truly amazing place to stay, the Savannah stretched out beneath you and the sun rising through your window each morning I can not imagine any better place to stay whilst in the Serengeti National Park... The buildings are designed in a very local style ensuring they fit well with the surroundings and with all heating and light coming from renewable sources the Lahia Tented Lodge is truly in harmony with the Serengeti and the wildlife it hosts... The staff were truly awesome and at times it felt like we where the only guests, so attentive were the staff... Each night the Maasi guards lit our way to our tents and kept us safe and although we could hear the lions close by at no time did we feel any concern... Showering outside under the stars was truly amazing and waking each morning to the sights and sounds of the Serengeti stretched out before us will be forever a memory held dear... Our last night the staff sung Jerusalema, Jambo Bwana and presented us with a good bye cake that we had to share with other guests as it was so plentiful... The tents themselves were super spacious, amazingly comfortable and very well equipped... Thank you Lahia Tented Lodge for a wonderful three nights in the Serengeti !…
Wonderful stay!! We spent two days there during our safari in Serengeti and it helped us reqch places deel into the nqtuinal reserve because this hotel is a little further in than others. Food was very nice, facilities were brand new and staff was very helpful and always taking care of us. The cabins were very spacious and nice. They had a nice terrace to see sunset and from were you could see the endless Serengeti with many animals that could be spotted. We would really recommend this place to stay for a couple of days
Of our 2 week trip in Tanzania, this is the only lodge/tented camp I would NOT recommend to any traveler. I had contacted the hotel and notified them of seniors in our group with mobility issues as well as dietary restrictions and was assured the staff and chef on-site would be capable and be able to accommodate. When we arrived, there was no welcome like at every other lodge we arrived at. Instead, we carried our backpacks up a rocky hill to the entrance, where the manager, Joyce, was waiting at. There were 2 golf carts sitting up there, yet they didn't use them? You could clearly see we had 2 senior citizens with us. During check-in, we reminded them again of our dietary restrictions (vegetarian) and told them certain foods would be made to accommodate our dinner/packed lunch during the safari. These were not communicated to the chef or they just weren't followed through. For example, at check-in, we were told there would be vegetarian stir fry prepared for our lunch hamper the next day. Yet the morning of, the chef had a table set up with cold pizza, bread, and other snacks and told us to pack our own lunches. All of which was gross and tasteless. We began having to specifically request the chef make certain things after our 2nd day there in order to have actual edible food b/c otherwise we were getting various steamed vegetables, steamed spinach, rice etc. Everything was so bland and tasteless. Anyone with any type of food restrictions or food allergies, beware this place. Even the meat dishes however tasted horrible per those in our group that ate meat. The chef would constantly say he would make this or that and then there was limited to no follow through until the last day we were there. After we specifically asked, again and again, to speak to him to discuss our dinner options. It appeared as if he may be drunk(?) our last evening there when he came in eyes teary/hazy and blubbered apologizing and blaming his own staff for the food errors. It was very unprofessional and irritating. At every other lodge, the manager checked in daily during dinner time to see if meals were okay, anything was needed during safari the next day, etc. We never saw the manager at this lodge until our last day, AFTER I had made complaints to their customer service/manager via email. She didn't lift a finger to help other staff. For example, someone in our group went to the front desk and asked her for a glass of wine (the fridge with wine bottles is directly behind the counter), and instead of getting it herself, she called another waitress from across the room to come over and pour it for him. What? Where is common sense? Lazy and entitled. For the amount of money that people spend to stay at this lodge, the food and service are beyond terrible. It is embarrassing really. Even our safari guide who's been in the business for over a decade had said this was the worst food/service he'd seen from all the lodges he'd been. Also, it was the least busy lodge. We stayed 3 nights and the first 2 evenings, there were only about 4 tables of guests for dinner in the evenings, the last evening there were more but still plenty of empty tables. So they were nowhere near as busy as all the other lodges and glamping camps we stayed at, so that cannot be an excuse. The staff that deserves a raise and should be running the lodge are Happiness, Robert, and Eric. They truly went out of their way to make everything possible! Eric would go from serving poolside to running out and getting other guests from their tented camps via golf cart pickup. Eric's masala chai was wonderful. Happiness and Robert checked in frequently with guests at various tables, including us. They truly know what customer service should look like. They should train the others. Joyce and the chef need to go. This lodge could be truly wonderful and 5 stars, but right now the views alone are not worth the visit. You will get wonderful views no matter where you stay at the Serengeti national park. As is expected with luxury/glamping lodges, the Rooms are beautiful and spacious with all the comforts you need. The outdoor shower is wonderful. You definitely need mosquito repellent for the evenings. The balcony is a nice, quiet place to relax at the end of the day and watch the sunset. For how beautiful this lodge is, it pains me to give this review. Hopefully, it will finally force the management and owners to actually make some necessary changes if they want to stay in business.…
