LEMALA EWANJAN is an intimate authentic camp with 12 beautiful suite tents set within the game-rich Seronera Valley in a secluded part of Central Serengeti. The camp offers breathtaking views of the Serengeti plains and its prolific wildlife and sunsets. The Seronera valley is renowned for its year round game viewing due to its abundance of water, as well as its large population of resident cats. Between April and June and November through January the area receives the wildebeest migration, turning the area into an exciting wildlife paradise.

The Lemala Ewanjan Tented Camp emerges as a gem in the Serengeti, with its well-kept, stylish rooms earning high marks for cleanliness and comfort. Visitors frequently celebrate the vibrant atmosphere and engaging dining experiences, while the camp's attentive service garners acclaim for the staff's warm hospitality. This camp was far enough in the Central Serengetti that we had massaai warriors on the property for our safety. Due to this we felt safe. We were escorted to and from our tents by staff. Our wake up coffee was served in our room and the showers were camp showers attended by staff who always had more hot water when we needed it. The meals were fantastic with wonderful soups served every night. Staff made sure our rooms were sprayed for mosquitos each night while we were at dinner and we were secure knowing the sounds we heard outside would stay outside. There was also ample outlets for our devices with a very workable internet…but remember to bring your universal plug adapter.wish we could change stayed longer but this is not to be missed. This location allowed us to see a leapord, cheetahs, raptors, hippos, at least thirty lionesses with one in a tree we drove under.
At the last night of our stay we drove to a hill behind our camp and the hotel staff served us drinks and snacks with the whole of the Serengetti surrounding us.

We had the most wonderful stay at Lemala! The staff was so warm and friendly and professional! We loved everything about the camp and would recommend this camp to everyone! Perfect location! We were greeted by the staff every time we came back from safari with a cool washcloth and always asked about our day and what we would like to drink. The meals were exceptional and the staff was attentive to every detail of our trip and time at the camp. Our favorite was the dinner presentation, the morning wake up calls and just how caring the staff was to all our needs! Thank you for a memorable 4 nights at the Lemala camp. We were so sad when we had to say our goodbyes but so thankful for all the great pictures we have to remember our time spent with you.

We stayed at Lemala Ewanjan for 4 nights for our honeymoon. I don't even know where to begin! The tents are so beautiful & the camp is authentic but very comfortable! We particularly loved the experience of the bucket shower & generally being off the grid with WiFi & charging points only available in the mess tent.
Our welcome from Juma when we arrived was full of humour & very informative. Our room attendant Goodlyck was very attentive, always greeting us with a friendly smile, bringing coffee in the morning & making sure our shower was perfect after a long day on safari!
Jonjo who took care of all of our meal times was also incredibly friendly & attentive with a big smile on his face. Nothing was ever too much trouble for the staff here ❤️
The surroundings are beautiful. We fell asleep most nights to the sounds of Wildebeest, and actually had some elephants in camp on our last night who we heard grazing outside our tent for 3 hours!
A special mention to our safari guide Albert. He became a friend during our short stay here, was so knowledgeable, full of humour, and did everything he could to make this the best experience possible for us! As soon as he picked us up at the airstrip he took the time to get to know what was most important to us during our stay so that he could do his best to achieve it for us!! I actually cried leaving the camp & saying goodbye to him at the airport because they made us feel so welcome! I just wish the trip had lasted longer, but we'll certainly be back!!

Thank you so much to all the staff who made this a very special experience for us 😄

From our initial greeting from Ebenezer and the rest of the gracious staff to sundowners on the final night of our stay Lemala Ewanjan camp provided a memorable stay. The chef deserves high marks for the food which was some of the very best we had in our two weeks in Africa. The scheduled showers were great. Joseph, the attendant for our tents in particular was very conscientious and should be promoted and given more authority over operations. The only negatives were that the bed closest to the bathroom in my tent spontaneously generated noise when one was lying still which was a bit disconcerting. The other bed in the tent was fine. Also, one attendant in the common area who volunteered that he shared the name of a famous American persisted in talking about his need for dental work while I was alone in that area reading , writing and trying to attend to some business.

After a long dusty drive we were happy to be welcomed with a cool refreshing face cloth and a welcome drink. Throughout our visit we found all of the staff at the camp friendly, helpful and welcoming. Our room attendant brought coffee in the morning with our wake up call and we were thankful to have "talking showers" at the end of each dusty day. This tented camp had a very comfortable communal sitting area where we could sit, have a drink, play games or catch up on what was happening in the world using the Wifi. My husband is celiac and he and my daughter also have other food allergies. All food needs were accommodated cheerfully and deliciously.

On our day of arrival, we were sitting outside our tent and a group of giraffes walked right by. Amazing.

The only comment that I have for consideration is that when seating guests at the communal table, I suggest using care to ensure that those you put together speak at least one common language as it can be a bit awkward when you are sitting as a group but can't communicate with those you are seated beside.

We spent three nights at the camp early September and we couldn’t be happier. We truly arrived as guests and left as friends. The team led by John, could not do enough for us to ensure we had every luxury and service given to us. To say this place in incredible is an understatement and this is coming from someone who has travelled a lot.

The rooms are of the highest quality in decor and the bed was even comfier than mine at home. We had a room attendant called Good Luck and he ensured we had hot water for the “talking shower”, made sure our room was impeccably tidy and did a great turndown service and bug sprayed the whole room and we we were never bothered with mosquitos.

The main area is well decorated and a great place to sit and relax, there is also “Bush TV’ (firepit) but we didn’t quite get to do that as it rained every evening. As soon as we needed an escort back to our room, a Masai ensured we were escorted and even John scourged us back one evening as well.

The main reason I give this rating is because of the culture and authenticity of the whole team, John led from the top and was a “player coach” and worked with the teams seamlessly and every member of staff felt they could be themselves. I loved every minute we stayed there, the team made us laugh and by the end, we hugged every member of staff before we were on our way. THANK YOU to each and every one of you - you made our stay so so special and we will be back to see you all again.

This tented camp was way beyond our expectations. If you can call it a "tent" with wood floors, solar-powered electricity and running water/plumbing. Luxury at every turn. Hot showers on demand with the help of your personal attendant. How do they prepare such 5 star meals in a camp in the wilderness - but they do every morning, evening and with a packed lunch to take on your daytime adventures. The staff at Ewanjan was attentive, warm and very professional. Everyone in Tanzania we met seems to have a great sense of humor and laughs a lot, which really creates a joyful environment - Hakuna Matata. Asante Sana to everyone at Ewanjan for the unforgettable stay with you.

Where to start... Flew in to serona airport, picked up by Ilena who would be our guide for the next three days (she was amazing, very knowledgeable, knew the best routes, and locations with highest chance of viewing animals) on the way to camp stopped off to see hippos, and a lucky spot for a leopard up a tree.
The camp, we have stayed in lodges before and this was our first tent, we weren't sure what to expect, we needn't have worried as it was amazing, their is a very different feel to a tent, feels much more part of the environment and closer to everything, the tents are spacious, luxurious and beautiful decks around them, flushing toilets and hot showers with no issue... Just ask and they arrive with the talking shower, no matter what time it weather, our room attendant was fabulous and only a walkie talkie away for anything we wanted.
Food and drink.. quality and quantity was for us, perfect, breakfast choice of hot or cold, cooked to order, lunch when at camp was a lovely salad with chicken, and dinner is a 3 course set menu, whilst there is no choice unless requested or dietary requirement catered for we loved every mouth full, with lovely wine and beer and ample spirits if wanted. Wee even had a campfire meal for 2 which we had no idea about, was stunning, with a guide staying with you just to keep an eye out.. he pointed out 2 fisi (he taught us the name for hyena I Swahili) but it felt perfectly safe. Later that night back in bed you can hear all the animals, with some very noisy lions just outside, again feel very connected to the animals but safe knowing the Masi are looking after the camp day and night.
Game drives.. stayed 3 nights had mini one from the airport, then an evening one for 2 hrs, next day was a half day then another 2 hrs in the evening final day, full day out from 7 am till 6.30, (be prepared for bush toilet.. jeep wheel and you will be fine) A lovely packed lunch of salads, meats fruit and cake. the game viewing was excellent, best we saw as migration was on the way through, as such lots of predators were about, as always sightings are luck and skill of driver.. we had both on our side, lots of lions (20 in one day) cheetah with cubs, leopard x 2. and the list could go on. Never rushed and in our experience a lot quieter than other areas we have been, the leopard spotting was us and 1 other jeep who left after 10 mins, leaving us to enjoy the leopard to ourselves.
Camp staff outstanding each and every one, whilst I would name check it would do others a disservice as all were excellent with nothing too much bother.
We will be back!

We, a family of 5, spent 2 nights at this camp and wish we would have booked it for 5 nights! The wildlife experience right out the front flap of the tent was amazing with zebras and giraffes grazing and a lion hunt about 100 meters in front of the property one morning. We were welcomed and cared for like family. The food was delicious and the morning coffee delivery to the tent was a gentle wake up to a daily adventure! I recommend highly and plan on a return visit.

Lemala Ewanjan Camp is located in the Central Area of the Serengeti. The location of the Camp was unbelievably close to Nature. We could hear lions roaming at night! Nevertheless, the Camp feels safe and is well protected by Masai guards who constantly patrol the area. At night, they escort all guest to and from their tents.
The Service provided by the staff is impeccable in every way. From our lovely steward to the ever so polite servers at the dining tent, every instant was absolutely magical. We had informed the Camp my father uses a CPAP device at night. They made sure a power outlet was made available to him in his tent each and every night. Our needs were met with anticipation which made us feel at home the minute we arrived!
The tents are perfectly outfitted and equipped. They are also very spacious. We were in fact upgraded to a family tent which was the size of an apartment with two bedrooms, two baths and a separate seating area. The decor while simple reflects the beauty of the Camp’s surroundings.
Excellent meals are concocted by the chef. A comprehensive selection of beverages including wine and liquor is also available. Most alcoholic beverages were included in our Full Board Package.
All in all, Lemala Ewanjan is what African dreams are made of!

Everything is organized for you. You do not need to worry about a thing. Heads up that at the camps you may hear lions walking by your camps with an occasional roaring during the night but nothing to worry about, it was an experience of a lifetime! I would return in a heartbeat. Enjoy!

Hi Marsh, sorry for not responding earlier. I was in the area 2 months ago (middle of March) and temperature was getting a bit hot (around 32ºC/90ºF) but a nice breeze never stopped. Tents do not have A/C which is not an issue at night when you go to bed since it cools down nicely. On the other hand, do not be concerned at all, the LEMALA customer service team will do whatever do want to make you feel very comfortable!!!

We were a single couple but had a double room tent (by mistake!). I would ask the resort for confirmation but truthfully you do not spend any time in the tents outside of sleeping....if you can save money do so! All the time is on safari and eating in common areas.....sleeping only in the tents so two couples can manage with two bathrooms which I sort of recall existed,
