We stayed here for 2 nights at the end of our Safari. Great location, as we saw 2 crossings of wildebeest over the Mara River not far from the camp. Friendly and attentive staff. Conversing in English presented a little issue sometimes, but often the misunderstanding erred on the side of providing more than we had requested. We liked the set-up of the tent, with all the bathroom elements on the same side. The staff were friendly and attentive - escorting us on the grounds after dark. With our flashlights, we saw zebras and impalas in the distance on the way back to our tent after dinner!
We stayed at the end of our safari trip at this camp and were completely amazed! The whole camp site is just wonderful and extremely luxurious. We felt right at home the moment we were greated and couldn't believe the standard of the rooms. Everything was very high end and there was nothing missing. The whole staff was very welcoming and amazingly friendly, we enjoyed every minute at this camp site. The food was very delicous as well and they even prepared a private dinner at night outside of the main restaurant guarded by the staff. We will never forget this camp site and would highyl recommend this to everyone having this as the last stop of their safari as it can't get better than this!
This should have been the highlight of our safari holiday. This should have been the place we talk about when remembering our time in Tanzania. This will be the place we talk about which was the biggest let down of our holiday and it could have been so easily resolved if local management had bothered to pay attention. First, the positives. The camp is located in the path of the migration, and night and day you are surrounded by wild beasts which adds to the sense of adventure. The decor of the tents strives to emulate the 'Out of Africa' feeling and on the whole succeeds. The team of staff were helpful when needed, despite some of the challenges. We were a family party of three staying in one tent. When we arrived at our tent there were only two chairs available outside, so we had to make a call to get an extra chair. Not huge, but tedious, you know how many guests you have, so think about their needs. Second issue, a camp bed was chucked in the corner and no effort was made to make it look special, it looked more like an emergency hospital bed. Our child said she felt like an afterthought. This was raised to the manager and some suggestions were made as to how the situation could be fixed for the next day to make the bed seem more special. This advice was ignored and nothing was done to make our third person welcome. Finally, the biggest issue was the food. As others have commented, the food tastes fine, our problem was that the food was cold when it arrived. Every time. It was served on cold plates and then once the waiter had run 50 metres in the dark from the kitchen tent, it was stone cold. This was reported to the manager on the first night. On the second night we were again served cold food, no efforts were made to resolve the issue or make sure that we were satisfied. This was again repeated on the third night and by then we had begun to despair. They can deliver WiFi in the bush but not a hot meal. This was further exacerbated by the poor quality lunch boxes provided. We were given a menu to select our lunch food but items were repeatedly missing from the boxes and the use of the leftovers from the previous evening meal was inadequate. Ironically the spaghetti was warmer the next day once it was wrapped in foil and left in the sun, than it had been the night before when served up on a plate. Complaints were ignored by local management during our stay and when it came to checking out the manager we'd been dealing with disappeared. A proxy was put in her place and he was presumably suffering from communication issues because all he was able to do was stare intently without saying a word. Sorry is the hardest word, even in the wilds of the Serengeti. We would not stay at a Wellworth property again and will not recommend their sites to anyone.…
Our tent was beautiful with a lovely view. We stayed 4 nights (9/1/22-9/4/22). You really felt in the wild here and at night, you could hear the wildebeest walking right around the tent. It was fun watching the wildebeest, zebras, and mongoose right from our private deck. It has a very intimate, wild feel to the place, yet it is luxurious. The lounge tent was spectacular in it safari decorations. The staff were wonderful, in particular, Brighton our butler. He taught us useful Swahili terms and made sure we were happy. The food was terrific. The only thing you should know is that they charge for drinks, including water ordered outside the 2 liters they give you every day in your tent. The drinks and water were inexpensive, and did not at all detract from our enjoyment. We loved staying here.…
The tents were beautiful, and we could see some animals from our porches. Our children fell ill during our stay, and the staff at Ole Serai went above and beyond to have medication delivered. One employee, Titus, even carried meals to our tents while my son and daughter recovered. Also, the staff responded well to my spouse's food allergy. Families are in good hands at Ole Serai!
the camp itself is very nice with beautiful tents and the staff is absolutely incredible! super lovely and accommodating! Even minor issues such as a dripping tap were immediately attended to and fixed within minutes of the initial call. Definitely worth revisiting in the future!
Absolute luxury. From the moment you walk in the tent you know you’ve gotten your moneys worth. Wonderful view, hot showers. Pure luxury. Then the dining tent!! Best food in all of Tanzania and I live here. The menu selection was amazing. Dessert literally was icing on the cake!!
Stayed here in June 2022. From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty. The staff were so friendly and helpful and nothing was any problem for them. We were early in the season and not many other guests but we still had access to all amenities. The migration had not yet arrived as our original bookings were Covid delayed by 2 years and our dates had changed. We still had a fabulous time and saw lots including lions, elephants and giraffe. On our last night we had dinner by the campfire and the staff entertained us to singing and a cake. The tent was a high quality large tent with all good amenities, hot shower and even a turn-down service with chocolates provided every night. Good security around the site with escorts in the dark. Staff zip up and unzip the tents for you every day. We would like to thank the staff for making us so welcome. Hakuna matata. We hope to come back one day.…
Best part of our stay in Tanzania. Luxury camping. Romance. We slept like Kings while hippos walked outside alongside giraffe and wildabeasts. Incredibly! Also exceptional Staff (Gift specifically was amazing and made sure every detail was handled for us, he was the ultimate in hospitality) but also Omar was amazing as well as managers Julius & N’oeraj (spelling might be off). They made us feel like we were celebrating a wedding. I will never forget the whole experience. Perfection. We will be back here. ❤️
memory foam mattress bed, luxury setting, amazing food, kind staff, welcoming atmosphere... This has been one of the best experiences of our lives and the highlight of our safari. Having hot showers and running water in the bathroom inside the tent has been incredible. We enjoyed the balance between being in nature, hearing the animals and seeing them from up close, to the fact there were no mosquitos or flies in the room, the food has been delicious, everyone has been very courteous... From the moment we arrived, we felt welcome and well taken care of. Kudos to Julius the manager who came there to check in on everything, took the time to talk to guests, and demonstrated top class hospitality.
