We had an incredible stay at Ikoma Wildcamp where we experienced amazing hospitality from their wonderful staff. They made us feel at home from the time we arrived to our departure, for them nothing was too much trouble, they kept on asking what we wanted. The lodge is not separated from the park and we had Maasai guards to escort us as we moved from our room to the common areas and back. Our elegantly furnished room had a lovely view and a patio from where we had beautiful sunsets. The food was tasty (we had breakfast and dinner at camp, and packed lunches on safari) but it is the people that hosted that made our stay special. Hihgly recommended
Really wasnt sure what to expect and pleasantly surprised. Situated 30km outside of the Serengeti NP, the camp still feels "in the wild" and the whistle given with your room key and the need to be escorted from your room to the restaurant area reminds you that there are a few wild animals about. Our room was a super mud hut, spotlessly clean and well decorated. Yes on one night no lights or warm water, but remember where you are and bring a torch and man up when you take a shower. The restaurant, built on a hill with panoramic views provided very good, tasty food and had the luxury of 70mps down load wifi so great for face time. Staff excellent and all joined in for the singing and presentation of a beautifully decorated birthday cake for my wife. Top place and one to check out.…
Last month my wife and I stayed at Ikoma Wildcamp located in a spectacular isolated area of Grumeti Reserve-Serengeti. It has a great 360 degree view of the reserve It was beautiful watching sunrises and sunsets from our canvas room. The memorable stay highlights are great food, first class service, great relaxation, beautiful sun-downers, wild animals (visitors) in camp, stories by the campfire, comfy rooms, amazing feeling away from the city……. Definitely worth another visit
We really enjoyed the stay in the tented camp, as there are no fences the guards have to be called with a whistle and then they come and bring you to the restaurant. Some in our group encountered a buffalo in the camp at night, so a good precaution. We enjoyed the Night drive where we spotted a leopard and the Serengeti Kangaroo( hopping hare) . A good place to stay with nice staff and good food, internet and device charging in the restaurant.
This camp is top class. Our room was very comfortable and spotless clean, It also had a balcony where we could watch wildlife in the nearby bushes and plains beyond from. We were awoken by a loud roar of lions deep in the night and felt like they were just below our raised room. Food was very good, beers well chilled and a fair selection of wines. Staff at the bar, restaurant were friendly and attentive and we had to take a guarded escort to our room after dark as animals wandered through the camp We had an amazing time at Ikoma wildcamp. Thank you
