Black clawfoot tub in tent!

This was by far the most elegant tented camp we visited on our Serengeti safari. All the staff seemed so happy to be working there. With only three tents, it felt like you were alone with nature. We were there with our 15 year old grandson who was the first to spot an elephant in the distance. The outside shower was a joy after a long dusty day as were the wet towels awaiting us on our arrival. Bites with an aperitif before diner at the campfire were delightful. Both nights we dined under the stars with lanterns hanging from the trees. You will not be disappointed. …

Asanja Africa....AMAZING in every way!

We returned last week from a family trip to the Northern Circuit in Tanzania. After extensive research into numerous safari companies, as well as specific camps, I found Asanja Africa. They have their own camps in several locations, and were also knowledgeable and able to help with all of the other arrangements, such as internal flights, transfers, and other camps. Ajay from Asanja was an amazingly responsive and helpful representative, who was totally dedicated to working closely with me to understand exactly what we were looking for and to create an itinerary that met our needs. Ajay made sure our trip was coordinated with the Serengeti migration to maximize our experience. Ajay was great, and his level of service, concern, and focus on our trip continued throughout our trip. He stayed in touch all along the way, and immediately got back to me with any information or help I needed. He is an amazing example of perfect dedicated customer service. The first Asanja camp we went to was Moru for four days, and then we moved on to the Asanja Grumeti Camp for four more days. Both camps were absolutely beautiful, and the locations were stunning. Both camps struck the perfect balance between being relaxed, low-key, small, and intimate, and at the same time being very comfortable, luxurious, and truly special. Both Managers, Bariqi at Asanja Moru, and John at Asanja Grumeti were totally focused on the highest quality customer service, and made our family group of six feel like welcome guests in their home. All of the staff couldn’t have been more professional, and they offer a truly five-star service experience, (similar to the best of hotels) in the bush, in a relaxed and casual way. Perfect! Everybody looks very happy to be working at Asanja, and that joy and fun permeate the entire experience. We got to know and really like all of the folks working at each camp. The tents, the furniture, and all amenities are beautiful, and the food was absolutely delicious. Whether it’s dining under the stars, on the savannah, or at the camp lodge, the staff always tried to make each meal into a special dining experience. The chef was flexible in accommodating any specific dietary requirements (vegetarian), and they took great pride in every course of every meal. Meals varied between traditional Tanzanian (home) cooking, and more elegant (western) cuisine, and all of it was very delicious and plentiful. Of course, a lot of what safaris are about is the game viewing and touring around the Serengeti. With all of the wonderful aspects of Asanja and the camps themselves, truly the most wonderful and important aspect that really “makes or breaks” the quality of the safari experience is the game drive guide/driver. We travelled with Erick, our driver for eight days, and I can’t speak highly enough about him. He too, was completely focused on making sure my family and I had the very best, most exciting and interesting experience we possibly could. Erick’s knowledge of the Serengeti and the animals was absolutely amazing! We saw ALL of the animals in the most close up and intimate way. Erick was tireless in his focus on ensuring that we’d see as much as we possibly could, and he had the answers absolutely to any questions we had. He found wildlife with the keen eye of an experienced professional, and he knew where to go and how to maneuver through the park. Erick made sure our wildlife encounters would feel intimate and private, and he successfully avoided us having the feeling of being in a crowded tourist destination. This was our third family safari trip (others were South Africa, and Kenya), and Erick was as unique and special as the Serengeti itself! We really came to think of him as a good friend. Erick was flexible and relaxed, and totally dedicated to providing us with memorable experiences, and he was also lots of fun and exciting to be with. I can’t recommend Asanja Africa highly enough. From the initial experience putting the itinerary together with Ajay, to the experience at the camps and the ultimate wonderful game drives with the Erick, the best driver ever, Asanja strives for perfection. All transfers, arrangements, and logistics were clear and perfectly coordinated, and the entire experience was as memorable, magical, and life-changing as we could ever hope for. I couldn’t be more pleased with our choice of Asanja Africa, and I can’t recommend it highly enough!…

Incredible place!

We stayed at Asanja Grumeti during our Northern Circuit with Asanja. The experienced was truly incredible. The organization was superb, Ajay was always super responsive (maybe 30 email!!). The place itself is out of this world, I still can’t figure out how you can have a bathtub out there in the wild. Having dinner with hyenas chanting up and getting close to your food is something I’ll never forget. Eric, our guide, was super helpful and very prepared, and was also a lot of fun! We loved when he shared some past experiences of his time as a guide. Given its position in Serengeti, the camp is perfectly places to witness the great migration. We went after it and honestly we loved it anyways! The scenery and animals were so different from other parts of Serengeti, and we felt like we were alone in those awesome fields. Final remark for the staff and chefs that were superlative! …

We love Asanja Africa!

My husband and I had an amazing time on a 7-day safari with Asanja Africa in Tanzania. This is an eco-friendly and locally owned company, which we wanted to support. We arranged the trip over countless emails with Ajay, who was always super responsive and incredibly helpful. We stayed at both of their luxury bush tent sites for 2 nights each-- Asanja Grumeti and Asanja Moru. The staff and service were wonderful at both places, all very accommodating and flexible. Everyone was extremely kind, helpful and attentive. They washed and dried our clothes by hand and returned them beautifully folded the same day. All of the meals were delicious and abundant. I don't eat a lot of meat and they prepared wonderful vegetarian meals for myself and meat dishes for my husband. The location is breathtaking! You're in the heart of the Serengeti at each site and we heard both lions and hyenas each night, truly unforgettable. I'm certain that our safari guide and driver Erick is the absolute best safari guide there is!! He's kind, patient, extremely knowledgeable and made sure that our trip was everything we could've hoped for and more. He's an excellent driver, which matters when you're on safari, and he knows the parks really well. He quickly maneuvered our jeep right in front of the action time and time again. He planned the trip well and adapted it based on potential for rain and made sure that we were able to see everything we wanted to see--including all the big cats (7 cheetahs!) and black rhino, plus a few exciting extras like seeing lions mating 3 times, a cheetah hunt and kill an impala and lionesses eating a water buffalo right beside our jeep. While nothing is every guaranteed on safari, we think that any trip with Erick will result in something spectacular and memorable. Upon leaving, the staff sang the lovely 'Jambo Bwana' song which will remain forever in our hearts. Asante Sana Asanja! We highly recommend Asanja Africa for safari and accommodations at their luxury bush sites - Asanja Grumeti and Asanja Moru.…

Wonderful honeymoon experience

We stayed at Asanja Grumeti for 2 nights as part of our Honeymoon Trip. The experience is way beyond our already-set-high expectation. Asanja Grumeti is very beautiful and private. All staff took very great care of us. Asanja team really did great job, they made sure that we had the best honeymoon experience. Everything they did is so special from a nice bush breakfast specially set for us to the live dinners under the stars. Game drives were amazing. Our guide, Erick, ensured that we got to see all the possible wildlife. We still remember the wonderful sunrise from our tent vividly. And we really miss the hot chocolate they brought us every morning as part of our wake up call. …
