Detailed Reviews
This was the perfect way to experience the Serengeti! The location is great.
The rooms are so spacious - you have a flushing toilet, full shower, big bathroom, big sleeping area and a "patio" space at the front of the tent. It was just a really fun experience. The food was delicious and there is plenty of it.
The staff is super friendly and welcoming.
Saw plenty of baboons and a giraffe at the camp. Highly recommend! Hope to visit again.

Camp in the serengeti, we pulled up and there were buffalo relaxing around the camp! Staff very professional and polite. The tented room was great, comfortable bed. Solar powered lights and charging stations. Hot water in shower (at night due to solar power), flushing toilet. Feels like a hotel in the middle of the serengeti. Food was great and big portions. At night we were woken by the sound of hyenas and a wart hog outside of our tent. Our neighbours heard a lion roaring! The staff provide 24hr security. Amazing experience!

+1
We stayed here for two nights during our trip to the Serengeti and it is truly a gem in the middle of the Serengeti. You can absolutely book a luxury lodge for your time here or you can have a real adventure and stay in a beautiful self contained tented camp like this. Most lodges are located overlooking the Serengeti but if you want to be in the middle of the wildlife and action then stay in a tented camp right in the bush like this one! Even if you are not a camper, I promise you will love it here. The tents are self contained meaning you have your own bathroom, shower and bed all in your tent. It is beautiful and safe. Meals are taken in a tented dining room and it is wonderful. The staff are incredible and kind. The best part is the location. You are literally in the bush. Our camp was surrounded by Impala, gazelles, zebras and Hertabeast so your wildlife viewing continues even after your game drives are over. We had herds of elephants stroll by and even had an elephant come right into camp. There are campfires at night, delicious meals and lots of drinks! Late at night we heard something outside of our tent and sure enough an elephant was right beside our tent!!!! It was exhilarating. I cannot recommend this place enough. A big thanks to Wild Roots Safaris for booking this place for us during our amazing trip!!!

Truly an amazing place which you should add to your Serengeti trip!! In the middle of the Seronera Valley, surrounded by grasslands and lots of animals. We could see giraffes, an enormous group of Buffalo’s in the distance and hyenas really close to the tent at night. Magical experiences! The tents are enormous, with an ensuite shower and toilet. We didnt opt for a luxurious safari but definitely felt that was where we ended up. When it gets dark, the animals can walk around the tent so the staff comes to pick you up to bring you to the dining tent. The food was offered at your table, where tourists eat together with their guide. A great way to learn more about the culture, the animals and of course strategic planning for the trip. The food itself was amazing, with plenty of choice for everyone. Staff is really friendly and flexible with breakfast/lunch requests. One day we were the only ones coming back for lunch, even then we got plenty of food for offer. The last morning we left in the really early hours and got a breakfast + a lunch pack which were both yummy. Coffee and tea are free for grabs.

My husband and I stayed here for 1 night during our safari. The food was good, the service was fantastic, and the room was quite nice. Even though it's a tent, the room had a separate entry area, main bedroom, and separate bathroom with toilet and shower. Wifi only worked in the main building but that was a common thing in the area. The sunrise in the morning was breathtaking!

Compared to the other lodges we stayed in this was pretty average, however it’s unique location with no fences surrounding it made for an interesting stay.
The staff were clearly newish and quite nervous of us. I asked for some ice which caused a stir as they only had a few small containers in the top of the fridge which left none for the other guests (I wasn’t aware of this till later when we asked for G&T’s after dinner and they couldn’t make them due to lack of ice!!!!!)
The buffet in the evening was very average with not enough choice but we made the best of it as we were only there overnight. Would I recommend staying here…not really there are much better places nearby but if you like rustic this would be for you..

We were in the heart of the Serengeti National Park where we would stay two nights at the Thorn Tree Camp. Located in the center of the park, this camp would definitely be more rustic than the previous two lodges we stayed at. It didn’t mean that they didn’t try there best to make us comfortable and the staff were extremely nice. They set chairs up for us around the firepit where we could sit and watch the amazing sunsets. We saw several different animals wandering through the camp and could see herds of zebras and wildebeest from our tent. Being as secluded as we were, we were able to enjoy looking up at the night sky with all of the brilliant stars. We really felt like we were on safari while we stayed at Thorn Tree Camp.
The one down side to the camp is that they do not take credit cards, so be prepared to pay for your beverages with cash.

We had three nights of up close animal encounters at this tent camp. The staff was lovely. The cook made special vegetarian dishes for us. Our tent was great. We were surrounded by animals grazing at night while lions roared nearby. Spotted hyenas roamed in the evenings and Giraffes walked through the field in the mornings. So graceful and beautiful.
Enjoy!

This camp is has a great location in the central Serengeti. The tents are large but pretty basic. Bed was very comfortable. I would rate the place 3 star except for the food which was the best of several places that we stayed on safari. The chef is well trained and dinners had a good variety of healthy but tasty offerings. The service and staff were very good as well. Overall a very good safari experience in the Serengeti

Reasonable experience, but tents (specifically the dining tent) can get some refurbishment after 7 years at this place and staff quite inattentive. Compared to GNU Camp where we stayed the nights before quite a step back in quality and staff friendliness. Sleeping tent still pretty okay.

I just stayed at this camp and I’m not 100% sure in the answer for this but it more seemed like people with safaris already booked were staying here as an accommodation more so than to organize game drives. A lot of people move around the Serengeti a lot to different camps as it is such a vast big area. This is a great camp though. Right in the bush. Wildlife viewing is great right from the camp. We had giraffes, zebras, Hertabeast all around and even had an elephant come right into camp. Woke up in the middle of the night with an elephant right next to our tent!!! We loved this place
