We started our safari from Kenya in early July for the migration towards Tanzania combining all the wonders of the region with a plan to finish up with Kilimanjaro.. With my biblical Old Testament reflections I chose babylon lodge. We checked in Marangu base town at mid morning after Arusha.. The contrast of the Masai plains and the tropical forest... More

As you will probably understand reading the other reviews, what makes this hotel a great place is its owner, Bobby, as well as the rest of the staff. They really try their best to make you feel good. For example, Bobby drove us back to Moshi (over an hour drive) with his personal car for free because it was on... More

The place is nice and the location is great if you want to climb Kilimanjaro. Rooms are cosy but hot water didn't work. Breakfast was very slow, and spaced out staff. It's mainly for all included excursions and not for backpackers. In my opinion too expensive for what it is.

The grand hospitality will be the first thing you will enjoy at Babylon Lodge. Amandi greeted us, and made sure all our needs were met. Bobby, the manager, is equally as kind and helpful. The food is outstanding! If there is any problem, such as hot water, just ask. We also completed a day hike on Mt. Kilimanjaro, and to... More

I absolutely cannot recommend this hotel enough...I arrived as a guest and left feeling like part of a family! Every single one of the staff here are diamonds, without exception. I've stayed at 5 star hotels where the service hasn't even come close to what I received here, with a more homely, genuine feel to top it off. We also... More

We stayed here for 1 night to take a day trip of Marangu village. The property was a bit old and the rooms were ok but bathroom and toilet need upgrade. Had trouble getting hot water but the staff was very prompt to fix the problem. We had dinner the day we checked in and waited for over an hour... More

I wanted to arrange a weekend trip from Nairobi to Kilimanjaro but other companies either could not arrange or the pricing was very high. Bobby arranged everything from a pick up in Nairobi to a car picking me up from the bus and taking me directly to the Lodge. Everything was included during my stay including a personal guide to...
