They have many rooms and rates for any traveler. They are very clean and spacious rooms, they have free reliable internet connections, their restaurant offers delicious fruits and breakfast from 6.30 to 10 am (make sure to stick to the time, you might miss your fee breakfast if you oversleep, but you can always ask for room service), the outdoor is spacious with swing pool, green gardens, and bar with a variety of drinks.

For the second time I was given a room facing the dusty, noisy main road, so I couldn't open my window and enjoy the mild, cool climate. The room had No night desk lights, so reading in bed was impossible. One night desk was missing altogether. The WiFi (included) was far below 1 Mbps and even my emails didn't download properly. I was unable to exchange larger files or access my cloud service. The guest has the choice whether to use the tiny refrigerator or the water heater, both together is not possible because of a lack of adapters. There is zero fire safety, no smoke detector, no fire extinguisher, no escape route signage. There are some papaya and pineapple pieces for breakfast, but the smelly meat stew they served for breakfast (!) spreads an aroma that makes eating difficult. However, they did fry me some eggs when I asked. No more breakfasts there. The shower took about 10 minutes for the water to warm up. In the evening it was till cold after 20, so I called the reception. Someone apparently opened a valve outside - and it worked. I wonder why this had been closed in the first place. The swimming pool is murky and smells unclean. So no swimming. I decided to skip the gym. TV programmes appear to be coming from Mars, flickering, grainy and with unintelligible sound, except for the deranged Televangelist on channel 1. All in all, the fact that this hotel is rated #2 in Dodoma is a true reason to worry about hotels in the Capital City of Tanzania.

This is like home away from home facility in Dodoma a great place for trainings with with great conference rooms and great clean food. A bit of a distance from the CBD and that makes it quiet. When you just need that personal reflection time st.gasper is the place to be. However be careful not to iron on the bed they may not also give you an ironing board in the room. But they have laundry services.

Father Dominic, the Manager, is a very nice person and very accommodating, but this is just an average hotel. The windows in the room don't close tightly, and the screens don't fit. So, you actually need the mosquito net with holes in it. The AC worked, but leaked water constantly onto the floor. The toilet was not attached to the floor and leaked. The shower was lukewarm at best and very low volume. But, the restaurant was quite nice, although the breakfast buffet was pretty sparse.

The hotel is beautiful and relatively quiet. However the maintenance isn't going very well. Sometimes stuff in the bathroom isn't working and because of the Dodoma salty water, cleaning can be tricky. The rooms are clean but mosquitoes can be a nuisance. Local cuisine is great but service is sluggish.

We spent 2 nights at St Gaspar Hotel. The room was spacious and clean. The shower pressure was great and the water was hot. The room was serviced every day. The flat screen TV had a variety of different tv stations to view. The gardens were well kept and the area was very quiet. The food was terrific, the breakfast has a variety of foods to choose from. Lunch and dinner menu was good value, and the portions were very generous. The food was plated well, and there was a good balance between fresh vegetables and meat/chicken. The meals were all well presented. The swimming pool was clean, and it was great to have space to swim laps. The staff were very helpful.

We have just spent 2 nights in our first time to Dodoma. We were pretty worried after reading the reviews for the hotels in this city but we went for st gaspar as we had 2 daughters and wanted a pool for them. We were very happy when we arrived. Staff very pleasant ( though nobody helped us with the luggage) and rooms good size and good bed and hot water so that is all we needed. The pool is just great and our kids loved it. The only big dissapointment was food. We had dinner the first night but had to look for another place the second day. I think they could improve the menu and the cook. The chicken the first night was awful and could not eat it and had to leave it on the plate ( was not particularly cheap). Hotel is far from town but we did not mind at all. We think the location is just great and we could sleep like babies. We will come back here!

I initially thought the place fairly overpriced but the staff won me over as they were friendly and quite helpful (maybe even too helpful). The rooms are quite spacious and comfy. The bathrooms could do do with some improvements as the hot water is lukewarm and the shower restricts full flow of water. The meals are pretty good and reasonably priced however there is sometimes quite a wait. The breakfast was extensive and overall okay. They also have a number of conference rooms that would make an office retreat ideal. I really enjoyed the fact that the hotel is spacious and that it has beautiful grounds and a large swimming pool which tends to attract the weekend family crowd. The internet worked most times and was fairly fast however it did disconnect on a number of occasions. The only thing maybe that I noted is that it kinder far out of town, which while it may make it a nice and quiet spot it can be quite bothersome when you need something from town like attending an event in town, changing money or Mobile money agents or bank services etc.

I have stayed this hotel on a number of times and I'm writing more in response to some of the criticism than as a review, first to reach dodoma you either do it by air (flight in flight out not always available) or face an excruciating road travel (10, 12 or up to 17 hours on a single very transited road 4x4 suggested in case of forced detours) there is no alternative and outside of a conference, the university or parliament when in session I can't find no reason why anyone would want to visit this city other than to say I've been there. This is not really what I would consider a tourist destination (it is a political hub) by any stretch of my imagination, in tanzania concentrate on Zanzibar, Dar es Salaam, Kilimanjaro, ngorongoro and possibly Arusha, great places to visit with a tourist infrastructure and adequate hotels to match. The issue is not wether this is a great hotel or not, I find the hotel average but it's personnel friendly and polite, when rating the facilities please take into consideration the area and the challenges placed on the hotel and staff in terms of the surroundings, infrastructure and distances. As a rule of thumb whilst traveling in Africa (+\- 38 countries so far) I normally stick to the city center due to traffic and accessibility issues, however in Dodoma as a business traveler and after trying a number of hotels I found this to be the best place to stay for mainly four reasons 1. It's quiet with pleasant surroundings and courtyard you can get a comfortable nights sleep (and not deal with boisterous drunks or late night revellers which in a small town with little to do seem to multiply) it also helps that the food is ok and fresh, 2. It's safe, 3. It's clean, 4. The staff is friendly.
