Can highly recommend to stay at Upepo Garden and also have them plan your visit to Tanzania. Everything has been so well prepared and planned! Staff is very nice, polite an helpful! 😍 Couldn’t ask for more ❤️
We stayed at Upepo Garden two nights and made excursions in to the city where our guide took us to the different local markets🐟🥑🍍🥥 He helped bargaining, and we made good deals 😉
They organized a Safari-trip where we drove to Selous, and stayed at Selous River Camp. We did a river safari, a morning walk in the woods and two full days of game drive. Saw lots of animals, though not as many as we had hoped for due to fact that it has been raining a lot🦒🦓🐘🐊🦛🐿🦎🐜🐌🦉🦅From Selous we flew to Zanzibar, where we spent two amazing days at Emerson Hurumzi in Stonetown. Had the best lunches and dinners, and the rooms were a dream! We he last three nights we spent at Blue Oyster directly on the beach on the east coast of Zanzibar. Everything has been planned so well and have worked out perfectly fine. We have felt perfectly taken care of since our arrival. Again, higly recommended!!

We found Upepo Garden to be the perfect place to relax, unwind, enjoy a morning coffee, beautiful sunrise 😍🌞, afternoon beer, and evening yummy lobster.😋🦞
Since day 1 til day 5 of staying in upepo we always get up early in the morning like 6am just to witness the spectacular sunrise 😍 (check out the pictures) There was one time also, while walking on the beach we found some seafood like crabs and the chef in Upepo they cook the crabs for me eventhough its not on their menu. 😍😋☺😁
And while everything about the place itself was fabulous the part we most enjoyed was the charm and very warm hospitality of all the staff.
We felt like we're just at home and not on vacation 😁☺ Thank you Kiki (the owner), James, and all the rest of the staff at Upepo Gardens for the memorable stay! ❤

Perfect for relaxing if you want to stay at a place away from noise in city center. You need a taxi to center which they help you with. It takes 45-60 minutes. Wonderfull staf and good food. Nice garden but no pool. Water outside is quite brown but the locals swim in it.

This property can’t be booked anymore. The owner had some legal problems and can’t manage the place anymore. However, she keeps an Airbnb listing open, only to tell you you should cancel your booking. Don’t waste your time with booking it on Airbnb. In the end I had to ask Airbnb to intervene and cancel my booking.

Great local hangout for family and friends. The food was excellent. We had beef ribs, skewers, goat and chips. Reasonably priced. Service was good. The food took a while to come which seems to be the normal in Dar but this gave us plenty of time to talk and have drinks. I would definitely go back when I was in the area.

So you think Tanzania: exotic, mysterious, exciting; you can't wait to get there. Then you travel for 15 hours straight and land on Dar Es Salaam. Now that's a bit of a weak spot you might find yourself in. Certain expectations might be crashed once you experience the traffic, the pollution, the chaos of this city. Tired Traveller, despair not. For close, lies Upepo Garden and the lady hostess Carrie-Anne. She's the cool pal you didn't know you have in Dar. Her place is a lush, spacious villa right by the sea, with good size rooms, very clean bathrooms and tasteful decoration. The staff are lovely; the food prepared with care and attention to detail. Dinner might be served around one common table, where all the -limited, due to number of rooms- guests meet, share a laugh and enjoy the company. Location wise, it's not central; you need to travel 15'-30' to the city center depending on traffic. However if staying centrally is not a must for you, Upepo is a fine choice you will surely enjoy.

I had a wonderful stay at Upepo Garden. A room with a sea view.
The rooms have different details and furnishings are made of wood from a wreck of a dhow boat. The staff er cheerful and courteous. I highly recommend this place.

Great little guest house away from the business of Dar Es Salaam. The owners were very helpful and welcoming, giving good local insight and helpful in organising our itinerary. Nothing seemed too much bother. Beautiful setting, enjoyable meals cooked freshly and with pride on site. Emails sent prior to our trip were responded to quickly and professionally. A great introduction to Tanzania. Thank you to all who made our stay so comfortable

Wonderful place - intimate, warm, well equipped and stylish home. Great spots to sit, beautiful views out to sea, soothing ocean breeze. Great staff and management. Very comfortable room and bed, good AC if required, and good box mosquito nets and netting on windows. Tasty food, and flexible arrangements - can have all meals there. Lulled to sleep by sound of wind and waves.

After a long journey we found our respite at upepo garden. Idyllic location. Friendly, trustworthy staff who went above and beyond. I stupidly left my phone in the taxi that was arranged through upepo when I got to the ferry port. I only realised when I got to zanzibar. A member of reception at upepo, Fadhil, contacted my partner and arranged to send phone to me at a minimal cost. This reflects simply how good upepo is!
