I've been coming to Kipepeo for a day at the beach. You can pay 5000 to enter and you get a ticket that entitles you to a soda. Mot a bad deal for a day looking out over beautiful water. But the seating is very basic and not too comfortable. Plastic tables and chairs a little bit back and wooden recliners in the front. Waiters take your order and sometimes they bring it to you and sometimes they tell you that you have to pick it up yourself. Odd service. I have not enjoyed the food the last couple of times I've been there-poorly seasoned and cooked and it's been cold but once I had breakfast that I enjoyed. But having a swimmable beach is awesome. We were able to buy a used bathing suit on the road coming in. There are lots of vendors directly on the beach that want to sell you coconuts, wraps, chips, sunglasses, etc. but you're warned not to buy from them. It can get a little annoying when you're trying to relax. Today I noticed people taking a dhow over to Sinda Island-just across the water- with all stuff to make make a good party. Will have to try that excursion in the future.

I have been visiting kipepeo Beach for the last 15 years, I have never had a single complain until i met this new manager they have from South Africa. My last visit is a week ago, I arrived there early and booked a room, I paid for three nights right away, I was the only person staying in these simple cottages on the beach side as you know corona virus has affected many businesses especially accommodation business. I left my bag in the room and went to see a friend outside kipepeo beach,I also left my room keys at the reception for safety, I came back around 10.30 pm , There was no one at the reception, The receptionist forgot to leave the keys to the watchmen as they normally do when there are guests outside Kipepeo compound. That really didnt make any sense to me as i was the only guest there that day, How can they forget the only guest they have that day? Thats when the watchmen started to call the manager of the place, It took a while for him to show up but when he did, He made the situation even worse, He looked at me and asked the watchmen where is the client with a south African accent, Thats when i knew this is not going to end good as i have been to south Africa and i have some experience with the( Africans who are originally from Netherlands) The watchmen pointed at me, he turned to me and said people are sleeping during this time of the night with an angry face and walked in his office as if am the one who caused that problem, Now imagine if it was a white guy standing there in the night because the receptionist locked his keys inside? This manager who i came to learn his name is (Vessel) would have handled this situation very differently, We all know that. Am a Tanzanian, and its very painful to be treated differently because of the colour of your skin ,not to mention in your own country, Am begging the Kipepeo administration to look into this matter and do something about it. I want to make this clear here, My complaint is only about this manager and not the receptionist, as i know people do forget sometime, but the way the manager handled this situation am sure everyone who has read this review will agree with me that this white manager from South Africa is Racist, period.

I loved the Location & the food. Definitely would do a return trip. The cocktails were amazing, the staff super nice and very helpful. I had cottage number 3 and my view in the morning..... I would get used to it. Oh... only feedback would be to increase the number of Bathrooms & Toilets.

I stayed in one of the elevated chalets which was great, nicely decorated, nice sleeping climate. They whole compound of the beach village is spacious, nice beach, good variety of food and drinks, very friendly and helpful staff. I would choose Kippen again, Thank you very much for everything!

Hotel accommodation is simple, but enough. negative: Booked sea view was not provided. No wind therefore (second line behind bushes, many mosquitos. Recommeded: Insist on seaview. Beach is dirty, debris. Food ok, but service is poor: Food comes cold. Prices of bar are high (of cause). Negative: Prices are shown in Schilling, but payment by card requested in USD. Advice: Come with a lot of Schillings! Management is friendly. s. d
