A great place to stay in Dar es Salaam and makes it very easy to access lots of places in the city. Customer service is great, and the hotel restaurant serves great food, I really enjoyed the fresh fruits at the Hotel for breakfast. The rooms are fitted with Air conditioners which makes it great even in the heat. Great place to stay for business and short holidays, however nothing big to see in the area.
I have stayed at the Greenlight hotel over the last few years. My experience has been good enough that I will go there again next year. Electric is alway on, the air-conditioning is alway good. Restaurant serves good food, but is quite slow at times. Staff struggles somewhat with understanding English, but in all fairness they understand English better than I do Swahili. It is al well appointed hotel, but the rooms need to be kept in shape. Some small items could use repair, but again not bad enough to have me to somewhere else, and I stay in hotel room 300 days out of a year!
I stayed two time in this motel for a total of 6 days. Stayed in room which had two beds. It is easy to find this motel using Google Map and easy to get to coming from Mtwara. AC worked well and I had hot water. The Jacuzzi did not work in the rooms I stayed in so if this is a feature important to you, be sure it works before choosing your room. I enjoyed meals in the restaurant. Breakfast is a buffet, but some days it finished quickly, but you can always order eggs. It is not the ideal place to stay if you need to go to the airport. There are several different kinds of rooms. It also has several floors. Room quality was above average compared to other places I have stayed in Dar.
We visited Greenlight Hotel with my husband and took the fifth floor room, facing the road. Had a complicated reservation from Zanzibar, but the reservation dept handled it quite competently. I have just one word to summarize our entire visit to this lovely Tabata Hotel; Awesome. The room was big enough, spacious. The bathroom quite modern with great shower cubicle. Enjoyed hot water bath all through our three night stay. The food was delicious served at the restaurant mostly. Breakfast is a mixture of continental and a lovely local Tanzania cuisine. The beer garden was the definate delight for us on the mostly warm Dar es salaam evenings. We highly recommend this Hotel and do look forward to return.
No toilet paper. No WiFi. No shower. Bath had lumps of dirt in it and was rusty. Sign about properly disposing of used condoms in bathroom. Drive from airport took 50 minutes. Pre-ordered collection from airport - driver left me waiting for one hour outside the closed airport, alone and in the dark. Receptionist doesn’t speak good English and couldn’t organise the taxi driver (who spoke no English) to come to the correct terminal. S Receptionist’s English is so bad that when I repeatedly explained I needed to be at the airport at 3:30am she kept suggesting I get a taxi from the hotel at 4am. Taxi to airport stopped for petrol 3 times. Lift does not stop correctly at the floor - large gap to step up into the lift. Despite pre-ordering taxi drop-off it was 10 minutes late. Check-out took ages and receptionist was reluctant to give a tax receipt. Would not recommend anyone I know stay there even if it were free.…
