The hotel is old but clean and neat. Carpets have a strong smell, bathrooms are old with combination of bath and shower in one. Great customer service. Staff are very friendly and always willing to assist. Dining is great, the buffet restaurant has a great variety with some different options daily. Food is well prepared and presented.

Serena Dar lived to the expectation as always. Happy gentle staff. I must highlight the assistance given to me by Suzzan khuzwayo whenever I needed any transfers or meeting rooms. I appreciate the extra mile she went. Regards Wainaina James

I spent 6 night in this marvellous hotel, the decoration, the service the kindness of the staff everything was very good. They have a swimming pool, a spa, hairdresser, gym and even give you access to a golf course right next door. I will definitely come back.

We had a one night stopover in Dar. The hotel was a bit lacking in character. Friendly staff and decent restaurant. We were given poor advice on getting to the airport.. we were up at 5.30 and it took 20 mins vs three hours we were advised

Dear Andrewintheuk, Thank for your review and staying with us. Traffic to the airport can be unpredictable at most times and can take up to 3 hrs, however in the early hours of the morning a 30 minute ride should be sufficient, I am sorry you were given a different time. On your next stay I am confident you will...

Enjoyed my stay here Pros were Friendly staff, comfortable room, nice breakfast and service and attentive staff Cons Room was a little dated and the fan in my bathroom went non stop and required ear plugs to sleep. Other people in my group didn't have the same problem.

I love this hotel. I've stayed here for several times for long durations over the past 5 years. The Serena updates are nice. The restaurants are currently being updated. The spa, recently updated, is very nice. The pool is refreshing on a hot, humid day. The staff are kind and accommodating. I was in a room near the staff elevator...

We stopped here on a Great Rail trip prior to a Rovos Rail tour through Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana and South Africa. A great start to the holiday, relaxing and comfortable and nice food. Room was spacious well equipped and the food as good as anywhere for the class of hotel. Security was fine, highly recommended.

I haven't checked out yet, but I must say that you are home here. Serena Hotel gives the actual description of Tanzanian hospitality and the staff takes good care of you. And I totally trust that it will not change.. I will come back here and I know where to stay..
