I arrived in Dar es Salaam as a first stop on a tour of several locations in Tanzania and Kenya, and en-route to a few days of Safari in the Selous. On my first night I had splurged on a stay at the rather amazing Oyster Bay Hotel - that has a website and press-cuttings that speak for themselves and...

Myself (Grandma), my daughter and partner and their 11 year old twin boys found ourselves in a tranquil peaceful haven. We had three short breaks there during our month in Tanzania and each time we were so happy to return. Gordon the owner and his staff couldn't have treated us with more kindness and efficiency. The small garden and the...

Stayed at Alexander's for a couple of nights on business. Was pleasantly surprised to be met at the door by the owner /manager and shown to a spacious, adequately furnished room. Not extravagant, but decent, with a comfortable bed... The nice feature in this hotel is the roof top bar and restaurant, the wine list is extensive, backed by an...

My husband and I stayed at Alexander's for one night in July 2012- post-safari. Gordon, the owner, was very welcoming and attentive. Alexander's is a botuique hotel with a lovely restaurant, bar, and pool. The courtyard makes the property look very quaint. We stayed in Room 3- first floor facing the pool. It was well appointed, clean, and spacious. We...

My wife and I stayed at Alexander's one night before our safari and one night on return. Rooms were clean and very spacious. There were cans of insect spray and insect repellant in the rooms but a mosquito net would have been nice. Staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. The upstairs restaurant was very pleasant and relaxing,...

In the dust and bustle of Dar es Salaam, we came across Alexander's Hotel purely by chance whilst planning a lay over on our way home from the Comores. 11 spacious rooms on 2 floors wirh a rooftop bar and restaurant, all constructed around central courtyard with pool. This boutique hotel, ably managed by Gordon Alexander was a real find...
