A lovingly restored riad, dating from the 14th century, La Maison Blanche is tucked away in the winding streets of the old Kasbah, the spectacularly-located historic fortress high above the Moroccan port city of Tangiers. We arrived at La Maison Blanche in February and it is a beautiful place! Aziz (the owner) was fabulous - he gave us a very charming room on the top floor which led out to the rooftop with a wonderful view. He booked our ferry tickets for us, arranged for our transportation to his riad and helped take care of everything during our stay for 1 night (we wish we had stayed longer)! We got a private tour of Morocco and Aziz took us to some unforgettable places while we walked, dined and shopped. We cannot say enough about him - he is fantastic and one of the most generous hosts we have ever met.

We arrived at this beautiful boutique hotel on Thursday, March 12th on the ferry from Spain. We spent our first day touring with a fantastic guide the hotel owner, Aziz set up for us. By the second day of our stay we learned that Morocco had closed the border with Spain because of Covid 19. We began looking for flights out of Morocco through Paris, Gibraltar, Portugal etc. We had no luck. As soon we made reservations we would receive an email that it had been cancelled. At this point we became very concerned. Aziz came to the rescue! He went to the airport in Tangier himself to assess the situation. He spoke with someone who suggested that we try Air Arab. Fortunately the airline was flying to London Sunday morning. Aziz called the airline himself when we experienced trouble booking the tickets online. (We had no idea this airline existed as it didn't show up on any of the travel sites.) Aziz drove us to the airport the next morning and stayed with us until we had our tickets. I am convinced that if it were not for this incredible man going to such great lengths for us, we would still be in Morocco experiencing the nightmare that so many people are dealing with at the moment. Gawd, this review is LONG overdue! We stayed here in late November 2019. The service was excellent from the moment we were picked up at the train station to the moment we were dropped off. Mohammed was our go-to person! He always greeted us with a smile and never made us feel like our questions were a burden. Aziz was super nice to talk to, usually during breakfast, and was also very helpful. La Maison Blanche is located in an excellent area, plenty of stuff to do within walking distance! I will absolutely stay here again if I'm back in Tangier!

We loved our stay at La Maison Blanche, a meticulously restored 14th century riad. The 9 elegant rooms of this boutique hotel were decorated in the traditional Moroccan style and were super clean. There was a roof top terrace that provided magical views of both the town and the sea. As the location of the riad is on the edge of the old Kasbah, we were able to enjoy walking around town ourselves to experience the hustle and bustle of daily life. Aziz, our host, made our stay especially memorable. He was always available and was a wealth of knowledge. He knew everyone and everything and made recommendations for us that went beyond the average tourist experience. Upon our request, he arranged a very good tour guide, Ali, from Ali Tangier Tours who was fluent in English and took us around by car and foot. On the day we were leaving Tangier, it was very early and Aziz took us to the ferry himself to make sure that we made our connection. A very chic place in the heart of the kasbah. I have no words to describe the host, Aziz as he is simply the best. He was very welcoming and helpful. He is very humble and he even helped us arrange our tours while we were in tangier. He has this 2 cool nephews which we had dinner with. (Muhammad and Zakaria) missing those boys a bunch because they did well in entertaining our 5 year old daughter, Kandi. Very respectful kids! Muhammad on the other had was very helpful too. From our late night check in to breakfast and anything in between. We’ll definitely come back!
