The hotel is actually located inside the Medina, inside the medina consists of many narrow alley, which is very easy to get lost. However, this hotel is close to the door of Kasba therefore it is relatively easier to find your way back. The hotel is surrounded by mainly the local residential and therefore you found yourself become their neighbourhood....

Only one member of the staff spoke any English and Spanish, and most of the time this person wasn't even there. So a simple task as asking for a lemon for breakfast was never understood, because no one understood english or spanish in the mornings. Breakfast was a joke: 3 types of bread, coffee, jam and a little slice of...

Booked this place for nice warm design and great views of medina and Tangier bay. Hotel is owned by Italians, managed by 2 attentive local guys. Arrived early (7am) and was offered a traditional moroccan breakfast (jam, cheese, bread, warm pancakes, juice, coffee), my only suggestion is that some cakes are warmed after fridge, better - if freshly baked. hotel...

This was the BEST place we stayed in during our recent trip to Morocco. It is located in the old town, and is close to the Medina and markets - an easy walk. The staff were exceptional - they met us at our taxi and carried our bags, we were served hot tea, and instantly made to feel at home....

From the moment I stepped through the door until the moment I left, I felt so taken care of, in a way that truly made me feel like a guest. I know hotels always say, “You are a ‘guest’ in our hotel” but it was the real deal at Albarnous. Mehdi, the incredible manager was extremely attentive with a talent...

Beautifully appointed Moroccan design with spectacular rooftop views. Comfortable, immaculate and peaceful. We were fortunate to have included an extra day of rest during our travels and didn't want to leave the Albarnous! Mehdi attended to our every need 24/7 immediately with gracious hospitality. The traditional Moroccan breakfast was superb and a treat to enjoy on the rooftop. It's just...

This is a beautiful riad in an excellent location with sweeping views. It is well appointed yet homey and I cannot say enough about the fantastic service we received while staying here. We found Morocco to be so filled with hospitality but here, our host Mehdi, really outdid himself. He was working 24/7 (as I believe he was filling in...

Other than a lot of steps to climb, we thought this place was perfect. The view of the city from the rooftop terrace, where one can have breakfast, is spectacular. As soon as our driver called the hotel from just outside the medina walls, the hotel staff came to pick up our luggage and guide us to the guest house....

I stayed hear with a bunch of friends and the first thing i noticed was the homeliness of the place. The rooms are very comfortable and are more like bedrooms rather than hotel rooms. The staff are very friendly and helpful for all types of requests. The top of the building also has a geat view of the city. The...

Lovely little b&b located in the heart of the Tangier kasbah. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and accommodating of all of our small requests. It's at the top of a hill, so if you're exploring the Grand Succo and the markets below there's a bit of a walk uphill to get back at the end of the day,...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Dar Albarnous is not a classic hotel, is a private home that offers to its guests a personalized service where the elegance of a traditional Moroccan house (zellige of Fez floors, tadellakt walls) lives in harmony with the Italian design and the careful choice of furnishings. Located in the heart of Tangier's Kasbah, within a stone's throw from the Marabout Ben Ajiba (portrayed by Henri Matisse), Dar Albarnous is the ideal starting point to discover the beauties of "Tingis", as the Romans called it. From its panoramic terraces you can enjoy a privileged view of the city and its wide bay, to encompass the Straits of Gibraltar and the coast of southern Spain. This charming riad has five bedrooms: three double rooms, one room with two single beds and one suite, all comfortable, tastefully decorated, with private bathroom, and provided with air conditioning, heating and safety box. In addition to the terraces, two large common rooms and a gorgeous Moroccan Hammam beldi - with the possibility of scrub au "savon noir" and massages with essential oils made from Argan - will be at your disposal to make your stay even more relaxing. ... more   less
