This is a very nice Riad where they greet you with mint tea and cookies when you check in. My room was one floor up and there were steps to get to the closet and the bathroom, both of which are large and spacious. However, staying is not for those with mobility issues. The interior of the Riad is gorgeous. They provide toiletries, there is free WiFI and a small pad lock is used to secure the room. it was a short taxi ride from the train station and the taxi lets you out by the closest Medina entrance to the Riad. Since often finding the Riad door is a challenge, luckily there were Riad guides waiting right outside the Medina entrance to take you to the Riad. There is a generous breakfast where you get an assortment of pastries, dried fruit, yogurt, olives freshly ground coffee and juice. The Riad is conveniently located and it is a short walk from it to get to the Casbah and river front.

We stayed one night at Azahra. We loved our stay here. The room was extremely nice, stylish, clean and the bathroom was spacious and modern. The bed was also very comfortable and our room gave us access to a very nice rooftop. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice. Unlike most of the Riad we stayed at, the WiFi coverage was excellent! We had dinner at its sister Riad (Riad kalaa) next door. It was excellent in an amazing atmosphere, although a bit pricey for the (300mad for a starter/main/dessert menu). We would definitely stay at Azahra again.

Our first night in Morocco was spent at this charming Riad. After finding our way through the myriad alleys to reach the door, we were greeted by the Manageress who spoke French, but we had no trouble communicating with her. We had a wonderful stay and were looked after very well. Our room was pure delight with nooks and crannies of intrigue. Breakfast was home cooked and more than generous.

I booked this riad weeks ago and was excited about our upcoming stay. When we arrived, the door was locked and no one answered the phone. After repeated attempts to reach someone, we rented a room at one of the major hotels in the area. This was not what we wanted to deal with at 11:00pm and not a great introduction to Morocco.

Like Kuiterss ( a previous reviewer) I found that the quality of this riad was really high, but was disappointed about the lack of English. This may seem trivial and unreasonable but when you are in a foreign country where you dont speak the language, you often need assistance or guidance in small things, like breakfast times, intro to facilities of the riad or how to get to an attraction. It was not until the night guy came on duty that I could communicate to the staff at all - and he was gone by the time I woke up. The room was very nice however (although a bit small with no TV or clock - important since I had no mobile phone or watch). The other rooms I saw had a TV. The breakfast was superb and enough to carry me through the day and the bed was very comfortable. Overall, I would stay again, but ask for a double room.
