We stayed in a few riads across Morocco and this one is the most beautifully designed one. Very classy. I’ve taken so many pictures of it to inspire my family and myself how we can lift some concepts to our own garden and balcony. Breakfast is good, fresh baked french cake/bread/pastry. Location also pretty good, close to the entrance of the medina. The classic music in the evening and the morning bird sound in the courtyard - small touch but really give it a very classy feeling. Highly recommend. Also the room KO Coloniale was inspired by studio KO, the designers behind the YSL museum.

The hotel Dar Rbaa Laroub lies behind a simple door, identified only by a tiny number plate, “61”. It was once a private residence, a riad, a very special type of house prized throughout the Middle East and North Africa. Dar Rbaa Laroub expresses the essential purpose of the riad: to create a haven of privacy hidden from the outside world. When you step through that door, the medina’s cacophony fades, you hear the sound of birdsong drifting down from the rooftop garden. The windows and balconies of the riad face inwards towards the courtyard which is open to the sky. It is a vision of antique tiles, white plaster walls and carved wood, half-hidden by flowering vines and palms. The hotel has seven rooms, ranging in size from the Student Room suitable for a lone individual to the Oriental Suite which could easily sleep 5. The interiors of all the rooms have benefited from the discerning eye of the hotel’s owner Jean Noel Shoeffler, who has decorated with a light, but exotic touch that never obscures the underlying beauty of the riad. Jean Noel has owned the hotel for over 25 years, and in that time has turned it into a magnet for local and international writers, artists and knowledgeable travellers. The hotel is long on creature comforts in addition to being beautiful. A magnificent breakfast including coffee, fresh orange juice and hot breads can be taken in the rooftop garden. The hotel also serves an evening meal on order, offering very fine Moroccan fare.

This Riad, is one of the oldest guest house of Marrakech, owned by Jean Noel, a delicious french gentleman, everything is reflect taste and real charm. If you are looking for international standards, such as jacuzzis, or a pool, there is not such things at Dar Rbaa Laroub (Riad Jean Noel). But one of the most romantic terraces, surrounded by flowers, with views on the palace Dar EL Bacha, its situated in Mouassine, one of the best spot to stay, close of all place of interest. Don't hesitate to ask to eat on site, the food is delicious. All bedrooms have a fire place. This adress resisted all temptations of marketing so the place is recommended by friends of friends since decades. You may have to reserve in advance. The prices are very reasonable compare to what you have. Certainly one of the best riad in town.
