We stayed at this beautiful, unpretentious Riad in early January this year and had a wonderful short break in Marrakech. We were made to feel extremely welcome from our arrival through to our departure. The hospitality from Alexandra and her staff was excellent. We were provided with an impromptu lunch on arrival and had dinner at the Riad on the first night which were both very enjoyable. Alexandra helped with our itinerary, booked restaurants for us and ensured we were confident wandering around the medina (which can be a bit daunting on arrival!). The Riad is in a great location within the north part of the medina and we were able to walk to lots of places of interest within Marrakech including the Majorelle Gardens in the New City, the Medina and Jmaa El Fna (The Square) as well as many museums and palaces. We loved our stay here and would highly recommend it, and we are certainly looking forward to going back!

Our family of 5 loved our stay at this elegant and delightful Riad. Alexandra and her team were so welcoming and helpful, and made it feel like a real home. Others have described it as an oasis and that’s exactly how it feels. The sounds of birdsong and running water make it seem a world away from the chaos of the Medina. The location is within the walls and convenient to the main areas of interest, but removed just enough to feel a bit less touristy with lots of interesting scenes of local life. It’s also a very short walk to an area with car access, making arrivals really easy. Alexandra was very generous with her time, giving us lots of tips for exploring Marrakech. And the whole team were so hospitable, the breakfast was lovely, and nothing was too much trouble. We’d happily return.

We had the most amazing stay at the Riad Emberiza over the Christmas period, The riad itself is beautifully resorted and the little touches make all the difference. Alexandra and her team will make your stay extra special from arranging guides and drivers to making sure you never get lost to restaurant bookings but not to mention their own restaurant. We dined in 2 nights as it was so good their chef was amazing they were our best meals during our travels around Morocco. We will definitely be back and can highly recommend

My mum and I stayed at Emberiza Sahari riad for a week. On arrival, we received a warm welcome, from one of our hosts Abdu. He offered us freshly brewed Moroccan mint tea and delicious biscuits. We instantly felt relaxed and knew we had chosen a gem to sojourn. As we sipped our tea, we chatted to Omar, asking lots of questions about things to do in the area. Omar armed us with a map of Marrakesh and helped plan a perfect itinerary for our week which included: arranging tours, drivers, guides, and helping to make a spa booking. Omar recommended we get a Moroccan SIM card for our phone, which was a good suggestion as we planned to explore the Souks and knew we would rely on google maps if we got lost, which we did!
The riad is within the Medina, the old city. It's very well situated, walking distance from the souks, as well as many other attractions and destinations. As you walk out of the riad you will fall into a small car park, assuring convenience if you do need to grab a taxi.

After a busy sweltering day exploring Marrakesh, it was a relief to return to the riad, a cool, calm, and relaxing oasis. The riad has some wonderful features including its rooftop which unlocks a special view of Marrakech's architecture. I suggest spending some time there in the evening to see the city lit up. There is also a small pool at the ground floor of the riad, which you can use at any time.
Our room was perfectly air conditioned and immaculately cleaned every day by Wafa, who also prepared excellent breakfasts and the most flavoursome Tagine for dinner.
The week flew past and was thoroughly enjoyable. We both loved what Marrakech had to offer and the unique experience of staying at Riad Emberiza Sahari.
I highly recommend this riad hotel if you are planning a trip to Marrakesh.

The Riad Emberiza Sahari is one of the most beautiful places I've ever stayed at.
After a busy day touring Marrakech it was great to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and relax in the quiet and peace of this Riad, whether in our lovely, comfortable rooms or sipping a drink on the roof top terrace.
Alexandra, the owner, couldn't have been more hospitable and welcoming. Her staff are outstanding. When we said we were getting a bit tired of tagines the chef made a special dinner for the 5 of us. In fact, after tasting his cooking, we cancelled our restaurant reservations!
All together it was a marvellous experience and I can't recommend Riad Emberizo Sahari enough.

I spent three nights at this wonderful riad towards the end of October 2022. I knew the owner, Alex, from a previous life, and I had been wanting to visit for a number of years. I could not have wished for a better place to stay on my first visit to Marrakech.

First of all, the riad is absolutely beautiful. All you can see of it from the street is the entrance door, but it's a solid, polished wooden door that is opened for you at the first push on the buzzer. Inside, it is like a different world: you enter a courtyard with a small swimming pool in the centre and a fountain to one side. There are mature lime and orange trees around the pool, and verandas and alcoves in which to sit and have a peaceful drink. The peace is extraordinarily refreshing.

I stayed in the Isadora room. Like all of them, it's air-conditioned if you need it. The room is large and very comfortable, with a large French-style chair in which to sit and read if you wish, and there are chairs and a table on the balcony outside overlooking the courtyard, again lovely for a drink or a glass of mint tea. Alex has completely renovated the entire riad and her eye for colour and detail is amazing; it is truly beautiful. And not only beautiful; it's efficient. Everything works, which in a third world country like Morocco is not easy to achieve.

The food is outstanding. The breakfasts are delicious and large, starting with a fresh fruit salad. I only ate dinner there once, and because it's such a small place, there is usually only one main course on offer and you have to say by lunchtime whether you'll want dinner as the food is bought fresh that day from the market. My dinner was lamb tagine with quince and absolutely delicious. By coincidence I had the same dish at one of Marrakech's top restaurants a couple of nights later and the one at the riad was better. I had a good bottle of Moroccan wine with it too.

Alex is a marvellous hostess. Guests are greeted by her on arrival and she spends up to an hour showing them all they need to know about the riad, and equally importantly talking to them about places to go (and not go) in Marrakech. She has a four-page document describing all the different places and full of necessary local information, and basically she will help you make plans for each day of your entire stay. She's always available and always charming. She does run a tight ship; the staff all love her and she loves them too, but she requires standards to be maintained at all times.

If I am in Marrakech again, this is definitely the place I will be staying.

To be honest I would rather keep this fabulous place a secret so am writing this somewhat reluctantly! This riad is absolutely stunning and in a great location for exploring Marrakech. It is a sublimely elegant and peaceful retreat; exquisitely decorated in a soothing and restrained palette. The gorgeous turquoise pool framed by beautiful citrus trees is so pretty. Alexandra the lovely owner is a discretely attentive host and was so helpful with dinner reservations etc and ensuring we had a great stay. We enjoyed an incredible supper cooked by the lovely Wafa and daily breakfast with fresh local ingredients was a real joy. We so enjoyed the relaxed and unpretentious atmosphere of this special place and would return in a heartbeat.

Our family of 6 had a wonderful stay for 3 nights celebrating New Year 2022 in this lovely Riad, a haven of tranquility within the hustle and bustle of the Marrakesh medina. Everything revolves around the beautiful internal courtyard with fountain, swimming pool, citrus trees and colourful mosaics. Breakfast and dinner take place there. Breakfast was incredible as were the two dinners we had (including a 7 course extravaganza on New Year’s Eve). A roof top terrace is a great spot for a pre dinner drink while watching the sunset. The 3 bedrooms we stayed in were immaculate and a perfect combination of traditional stylish decoration and modern comforts. The service from the staff (Omar, Abdu and Wafa) was simply outstanding and nothing was too much trouble. Alexandra, the owner, was an exemplary hostess, with helpful suggestions and recommendations for things to do, and organizing bookings, guides and drivers. All in all it was a wonderful experience which we will never forget. We could not recommend the Emberiza Sahari Riad more highly!

Have been staying at the Riad for at least six years. It is great to see the owner Alexandra , as friendly and entertaining as always. Omar has been working at Emberiza Sahari since the opening and provides his best. Abdou and Wafa do an incredible job.
The roof terrace has a newly renovated gazebo with green tiling and furniture which look stunning. The same for the pond and water feature.
With the great weather I spent some time in the refreshing pool. The orange and lemon trees provide some oasis atmosphere.
Delicious food and the place exudes a casual sophistication all around. Superb breakfast next to the pool.

That's not a very original title but there's a reason why its what all Emberiza's guests are saying the same thing! Amidst the hustle and bustle of the Medina it is a cool and tranquil refuge. We visited in July which is Morocco's low season given the intense heat which was a small price to pay to have this beautiful Riad all to ourselves! What a treat! Alexandra, the owner was away and had left the delightful Omar in charge. More than ably assisted by Wafa and Abdul they provided us with the most special experience. One of them was always there in the background to call on and nothing was too much trouble . They arranged transfers and a walking tour, they booked restaurants, they prepared a pack lunch for us when we travelled on to the desert on Eid when shops were closed, Omar bought sim cards for us (on his advice) and even topped up our data remotely whilst we were away, Abdul charged off on his scooter to buy a sandwich for our son and later, with my husband on the back, to an ATM and sweet Wafa prepared the most delicious breakfasts for us (I quickly found myself longing for that freshly squeezed orange juice every morning!) and ensured that our son (who was struggling with heat and clinging to the air con!) had his delivered to him in his room. But our abiding memory was simply their smiles and generous hearts. We visited La Mammounia for tea one afternoon on our return from the desert and quite honestly, even if I could afford to stay there, I'd chose Emberiza Sahari!
