From start to finish, the staff at Riad Sapphire ensured our trip to Marrakech was very special. Not only did we have our own lovely room and bathroom, the Riad also had beautiful indoor seating spaces, a courtyard and amazing roof terrace. Everything was presented with care and exceptionally clean. As we arrived late we took advantage of the opportunity to eat at the Riad on our first night - what a fantastic introduction to Marrakech cuisine! The location meant we could walk to all the sights with the exception of our very special trip to the Atlas Mountains all organised for us by Asma.
The Riad is in a good clean and airy location with a great welcome from the staff. It's clean spacious with a traditional courtyard which is immaculate. The food was good but the outstanding feature was the staff who were led by Asma, the Manager. They were helpful and never without a smile. We had a large spacious suite with a good bathroom with the only disappointment being the lack of tea making facilities. Thank you.
My family and I stayed at this riad over New Year's Eve. The riad is beautifully decorated, and the breakfast is diverse and delicious. Asma and the staff were very hospitable, and they were always attentive to our needs and willing to escort us through the Medina at various times of day. Definitely would stay here again!
The room that we stayed in was Topaz. It was beautifully decorated as we arrived. The room and the bathroom was very clean. It was a room with a dome and kind of a minaret. So it gives an authentic feel of staying in a riad. The downside of this is that there were no windows for ventilation. If you needed to open the ventilation, you had to go to the terrace to open/close. But having said that we did not have the need to do that because of weather and air conditioning. The only feedback I would give with regards to room is the pressure of water in the shower can be better. The riad had a terrace with decent views of the Medina. One should experience sitting on the top for an afternoon moroccan tea (if it is winter). The staff are really amazing. Asma, Abdul and Aziz were the staff I interacted during my stay and all of them have been excellent. They go an extra mile to keep you happy. I had dinner on the day of the arrival. The Dinner at the Riad is a bit expensive. But the quantities that they give are huge. I was unable to finish complete the full dish. However I was down with Diarrhea the night after eating the dinner for a couple of days. I can not say for certain that it is because of the food at Riad, but that was the only food I ate the whole day and always drank bottled water. However my wife and daughter also ate here (different dishes to mine) and they did not have any issues. Breakfast will be served on a table and it is good. There is a slight change everyday which was good. There is bread, egg (you can ask what you want), pancakes, cakes, fruits. No complaints. On days when we had to leave early for the trips, they gave a packed breakfast as well. The hotel arranged day trips to Atlas Mountains and Ait Benhaddou. These trips are slightly expensive than what you find online, but I highly recommend this. The drivers and the agency (You can read my review on "Is time tours" which is the tour company) are very good. I am very glad to have booked through the Riad. As I said above, since I was down with Diarrhea, I had asked if I can swap one of the trips to a different day and it was readily agreed. I don't think it would have been possible had I booked online with a different company. During one of the trips, we had an issue with a local guide who picked up a fight and my daughter was scared. On return when we told Asma about the experience, she kindly offered a cake to my daughter which was a good gesture. I also booked a pick up from train station through the riad and it was well organized. I was picked up by the driver and as soon as I arrived at the parking, there was someone from the hotel to help us with the way and luggage. On the return as well, Abdul helped us with luggage. Another great thing was that I could pay the final bill using a card - which is a rarity in Morocco! The location of the hotel as such not to far inside the Medina - so we do not have to walk too long. But if you are a bit late (after 9 during weekdays), you can find some youth/people who stare at you. Not that they do anything with you or bother you or it feels scary, but we felt a bit uneasy. However on day 1, Asma said we could call the hotel if we are late and someone would accompany us from the parking. However we did not feel threatened or scary enough for me to call them. Overall I would highly recommend this Riad. The only reason I am not giving it the final 5th star is because of my diarrhea after eating an expensive dinner.…
A beautiful Riad with kind, helpful and attentive staff. Asma organised our pick up from the hotel and we had a delicious dinner waiting for us which we preordered. The rooms were clean, spacious and had lovely touches. We braved the Hammam which was a real experience - I have never been so clean in my life! It is a 15 minute walk to the centre of the Medina, shopping and souks - the perfect location for us as it was quiet, with a gorgeous rooftop to look over the city. Breakfast was generous, with a different offering every day. Would definitely go back.
