We stayed here for 2 nights at the end of a tour and did not want to leave! This Riad was absolutely stunning. A staff member, Amanda, met us at our taxi and had arranged a porter to take all of luggage to the Riad. We were very thankful for this as we would have had difficulty finding it ourselves... More

When we first arrived in the Medina in Marrakech ... I was taken aback by the sounds, smells and general chaos that surrounded me! We were lead through a maze like passageway and that ultimately ended to the door to Dar Fakir. Once we entered, I thought I would stay here for the rest of the trip. It was so... More

Hello again. Thank you for taking the time to write a review, your feedback is highly appreciated. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us and we of course enjoyed having you in the riad. Things can get a little bit chaotic outside, and sometimes thats the charm of being in an old city. We appreciate your recommendation... More

This was our first trip to Marrakech, bit dubious about being led down narrow dark alleys to a big wooden door. Bang on the door and open sezamee, like stepping into a different world. Friendly smile from the porter and led to a comforting sofa to be served mint tea and cakes. Had a wander round and took in the... More

My husband and I stayed here in early December. I was keen to stay here after seeing the Riad in Made in Chelsea. It is a beautiful building and has a tranquil feel, very nice to rest here after the hustle and bustle of the Medina. We had been staying at a hotel a little out of Marrakech and the... More

We followed our porter through small streets in the middle of the night and then we knocked on the door and were most friendly welcomed by the night porter and sat by the fireplace for a nice welcome tea with candlelight! The riad is nicely decorated and the atmosphere is very peaceful. Breakfast can be served on the roofgarden with... More

Excellent location, excellent rooms, very good breakfast, very good service. Breakfast was simple but nice, tea on arrival and very attentive throughout our stay. Was very quiet though, very few rooms occupied during our stay but would highly recommend this.

We had an incredible stay at Dar Fakir. When you step into the main courtyard from the alley, you are enveloped by soothing music, candle light, tables set with white tablecloths. It feels as if you have been dropped inside the lamp of a magic genie. The staff could not have been more helpful with practical, critical advice that made... More

Airport pickup and drop off. Breakfast is included and dinner can be prearranged for not much more. I can't say much more about the hospitality and customer service other than it's impeccable. The second you book with them, you'll be in communication with them about your flights and what services they offer. It's more than I can say about a... More

We only stayed here for one night and got an airport transfer booked via Dar Fakir, definitely get a baggage porter to show you to the Riad, as for the first time it will be hard to find, but once there you'll have the route memorised. The alley may startle some at first, but it is perfectly safe and commonplace... More

this riad became our sanctuary from the high intensity sights, sounds, smells of marrakech. the riad is tranquil, the common spaces are comfortable and cute, make sure to spend some time in the rooftop. the lack of door between the bedroom and the bathroom may be off-putting for some, but we found the rooms to be clean, comfortable, and well... Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Dar Fakir is a Riad de Charme located just 3 mins walk from Djema el Fnaa square. It reopened at the beginning of 2011 to visitors after a complete refurbishment. We differ from other riads in the sence that we offer an extensive service over other riads including not only the normal cooking courses but yoga, artisanal workshops and a very intimate service bordering onto concierge at very affordable rates. We provide extras such as meet and greet throughout your stay if required by our security guard during the evenings and at night. Mobile phones are provided to guests on request and are free of charge during their stay. We spend a lot of time with the guests making them feel welcome in the riad but also at home in the hectic maze of the Marrakech Medina. In total 5 languages are spoken in the riad - English, German, Swedish, French and the local Arabic, Darija. The rooms all have individually embroided bed linen made from Egyptian Cotton. The toiletries provided by Sence de Marrakech are Shower gel, Body lotion, shampoo and hand soap. For the Suite we can provide black soap and a gommage flannel. All rooms and Suites are decorated in elegant beige tadelakt on the walls as well as in the bathrooms. The floors have terracotta zellige. Rooms and Suites are furnished with traditional dark wood furniture in traditional berber style. The suites in addition have beautiful leather clad writing desks that tastefully match the decor. You will experience the ambience of arabian night in the evening when the handcrafted lamps and lanterns cast magical shadows on the walls. ... more   less
