Riad Zara is a beautiful spot to use as a base for exploring the Medina and Marrakech. The location is outside of the center, which makes it a great way to get a feel for the old part of the city and experience a more local vibe. Still, it is only about a 15-minute walk to Jemaa El Fna market... More

Monique made my trip to Marrakesh easy and enjoyable. Incredibly good value. Amazing home cook food. Highly recommended. Monique explained how to find my way, where are the best places to visit and eat and sit and shop. So helpful. Just what you need in a foreign country when experiencing severe culture shock.

I could write paragraphs about how incredibly well were welcomed and treated during our stay at Riad Zara. But I will keep it short and simple: amazing, beautiful, friendly, tasteful, authentic, clean, charming. Our host was a friend of the owner, as she was away herself and I can say she became our mom while we were at Riad Zara,... More

Riad Zara is very beautiful historical building, very well maintained and equipped. Reasonably priced, thus a great value and price/quality ratio. The location of Riad is about 15 min walk from central square of Medina, so you have to take that into consideration. For me personally it was not a problem at all, as I enjoyed all this walking through... More

We stayed for three nights in Marrakech as part of our Moroccan trip to recapture our back packing youth now the children are grown up. Riad Zara provides delightful accommodation, beautifully decorated and maintained. Our host Monique was extremely helpful and attentive to all our needs. The breakfast was delicious and tasted even better looking out on the snow capped... More

Riad Zara is very special. The Riad itself and its location brim with authenticity, During the evening, the candles lit, it feels like being in a fairy tale. The service is unmatched both in terms of effort and quality. Monique wants you to enjoy your stay and will help in any way possible. The atmosphere is relaxed and if you... More

First of all I would like to commend the decor of the Riad - it is absolutely phenomenal looking and the details are magnificent. The Riad was certainly a pleasant place to be. I should also inform you of two general things for Marrakech: hot water can take time to arrive and flushing loo paper isn't a common practice (you... More

Dear Safina and Andrew, I regret that your stay in our guesthouse "riad Zara" was not to your complete satisfaction... I regret obviously that we had problems with the hot water supply in your room. Unfortunately, these things happen in historic buildings ; I hope we solved the problem to your liking. You will understand that fixing the problem in... More

So we came back for the tenth time to our home away from home. This time with a group of clients. This is where you want to be, if you want homey feeling, quiet and good food! Hassan looked so well after us including some unlucky that caught the flu… Thank you! again.

This lady has a natural gift to host guests and take them to the most magic places in the medina. Also the way she hosts people is amazing making you feel really at home. Service friendly and always wanting to help and orient you. I highly recommend. Carolina

I showed up in Morocco with a room booked at Riad Zara and ended up staying for a week. The Riad is gorgeous and peaceful. Hassan cooked the best meal I had while I was in Morocco, and the fresh bread and honey for breakfast was fantastic! Monique helped me organize all my other travel in the country. She hooked... A home from home, Riad Zara, a cozy restored riad, is situated in the east part of the medina, in the old Bab Aylen area.
