Right on the edge of the suk this Riad is well positioned. Ornately decorated throughout in traditional Moroccan style, with large comfortable rooms. Staff were always friendly and helpful and the breakfast, continental in style was delicious. However, we encountered one or two disappointments, perhaps a legacy of going out of season. The downstairs terrace area was stunning with a small pool in the centre. While the weather was hot enough to have enjoyed this facility there were no sun beds or comfortable seats. Also, the upstairs terrace area was unusable. There were one or 2 tables scattered about, most without seats and the seats that were present had no cushions. There was no shade/umbrellas and his whole area was dusty and rundown. Unfortunately the hotel chose our week to begin renovations. This work was not discreet. One whole side of the downstairs terrace was tackled at a time, dust etc minimised by an enormous black tarpaulin draped from the first floor downwards. This was unsightly, made the terrace dark and did nothing to conceal the sanding hammering and banging that was going on behind it. This went on for 5 of our 7 days stay and in-fact had progressed to include the reception area as we we leaving. In order to maintain a 5 star hotel, this type of work is of course essential. However, having paid a five star price to stay I think closing the hotel for a couple of weeks to complete this volume of work would have been fairer on guests. While the rooms are beautiful and comfortable in every way with air conditioning, minibar and reliable Wifi etc, the constant noise from the street overnight meant that undisturbed sleep was impossible.

Stayed at this exceptional Riad for twelve days in May. I only have one word for the experience- exceptiona, it could not be faulted. The Riad is one of the best palaces in Marrakech, with wonderful moorish architecture, and is so very well maintained. Our suite was luxurious, beautifully and luxuriously designed, was on two floors, with a large bathroom, very comfy bed and private patio to relax in the sun. Staff at the hotel were all exceptional, very helpful, eager to please, and so very friendly. A very big thank you to all, and for everything you did for my wife and I. The riad has an excellent restaurant, with a wide menu, in the most very pleasant surroundings in the courtyard with a small pool. Food was outstanding and ranks as one of the best in Marrakech. I repeat, this is an exceptional Riad, well positioned on the edge of the souks, and the staff were just amazing. I would recommend this Riad to all. We will return very soon and a very big thank you for our stay

Our stay in this Riad was overall a positive experience. We booked the ‘Yasmine’ suite - the room was comfortable and spacious - with a very large bathroom. We were able to have breakfast on our private terrace and enjoy amenities such as the pool and the bar as we went during the low season so there were not many other guests. There are different wifi networks in each room so you have good internet everywhere. The only thing that prevents me giving this hotel 5 stars was the evening meal - the dining room was poorly lit and we could not see our food very well - and the menu was somewhat limited and the food was not amazing. Otherwise a good experience and we would likely return.

Beautiful Riad in the Medina, quiet, peaceful and beautifully presented we stayed in the Yasmine Suite which had its own terrace overlooking the pool and the courtyard. Ideally placed for the many Souks and restaurants it is an oasis of calm and birdsong. The room was beautifully furnished but the bed was very hard, the lovely housekeeper gave us an extra duvet to lie on and this did help Breakfast is served in the restaurant or on the terrace and is substantial, slightly disappointing that there are no tea or coffee making facilities in the room We ate in the restaurant one evening, the food was good and the staff attentive, Would definitely recommend for an authentic stay on Marrakech

The welcome is pleasant. The setting is very beautiful, in a patio next to a swimming pool, but that’s where it ends. The cuisine is disappointing because it lacks taste. Foods are bland. The couscous was not up to par, the chicken skewers too dry. It's a shame.

Lovey Riad / Hotel about 4 mins walk from the Medina - in a quite and elegant street. We had the Yasmine suite - which has a double bed and seating area upstairs and then a single bed and bathroom downstairs. Also a private large terrace. The Kontobia suite has a double bed and 2 seating areas and bathroom. Both are very spacious! Breakfast by the pool area was lovely and very generous with four choices of menu. Staff were attentive but the place felt peaceful as well. It's an absolutely beautiful property. Only slight downside was that if you want to hang by the pool then the staff have to come to rearrange the furniture and put out loungers etc. So, it didn't feel easy.

We had the Yasmine suite which had been subtly decorated with rose petals to welcome us. Adorable and attentive staff, a wonderful garden with a beautiful swimming pool, ideally located just before the entrance to the souks. A very good restaurant We really recommend it with our eyes closed

Location! Location! Location! This hotel is in an amazing location. I actually learned that this hotel used to be part of the Royal palace, which is literally right next door. Apparently, the King doesn't really use that palace as much anymore, but cool nonetheless. With that being said, there are always guards nearby which gave it a sense of more security honestly especially when we were walking by at night.
My friend and I got to Marrakech in the later afternoon, so we didn't have too much time for sightseeing, but was able to get to Dar El Bacha Museum of the Confluences since it was about a 2 minute walk from the hotel. In addition, this is in walking location to a ton of good restaurants including Nomad, Le Jardin, Dar Moha, etc.
Our room was (Koutubia) was also HUGE for two people, so I would have to imagine the other rooms might be pretty spacious. I thought their breakfast was also pretty good and had a good variety compared to the 4 other hotels I stayed at during my Moroccan vacation.
I would definitely recommend this place and would stay here again if I am back in Marrakech!

Having visited Marrakech a number of times over the years Palais Donab has been a fantastic place for us to visit for lunch and to use the pool.
On this occasion my wife and I were taking our 6 month old son to Marrakech for the first time. We stayed at Palais Donab for 4 nights in the Koutoubia Room. What a fantastic spacious room it was with all the amenities to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable.
The breakfasts were amazing and offered a great variety.
A special mention to all the staff who made our stay memorable and enjoyable from the cleaners to the reception staff to the waiters and waitresses. I can't thank you enough for your attentive and friendly service during our time. A special mention for Mouad for his service. A professional and friendly young man.
The hotel is perfectly placed on Dar el Bacha close to all local attractions and restaurants. All of the room are amazing and you will definitely enjoy your stay.
We look forward to returning to Palais Donab in the future. Shukran 🙏🏼 🇲🇦
