We are traveling with our two sons, 22 & 17. We were met by Mohamed on arrival with mint tea and lots of great information about the Medina including where to eat and how to not get lost! The rooms were lovely and while it is not the most flash of the Riads, it is comfortable, simply stylish, quiet and spacious. The service is excellent with the delightful Yessin, the evening and morning manager, serving us with great kindness and good humour. We had dinner on the first night on the terrace, by candlelight and it was delicious and plentiful. My husbands birthday was during our stay and they even bought a gift bottle of wine which they left in our room with a lovely note! Thank you Mohamed and Yessin and all the staff. Annie & James (and Gus & Jack).

This riad is definately a nice one. We originally booked for another of the Pure riads but there were sewing problems so we got an upgrade room in Dar Hanane (the grand suite). The room is really nice. Beds are comfortable with nice white linen and in my opinion they change it every day. The room is very quiet. I didn't hear any noise, however we were in the middle of the medina. Mohammed and Mehdi are two wonderful guys. Mohammed gave us useful tips and Mehdi served breakfast and free coffee and tea on the roof top terrace. The rooftop is nice with some sun beds.

I have one tip: take care of a Maroc sim card in your telephone (Maroc Telecom). Without google maps it is pretty difficult to find back the riad. Our EU card didn't work. You can buy a card for 20 dirham (2 euro) and the shop owner can top it up with 50 dirham. I shared my data with my partner and we had plenty of data. If you leave the alley of the riad, simply walk to the right and after 50 meters you enter a more busy street. Right in front of you there is a shop (there is a small sign above the shop with Maroc Telecom. Ask the guy to top it up. He will do it with his phone.

A potentially disastrous experience turned out decently. Upon arriving I was greeted by Mohammed. After giving him my name for the reservation he said he couldn’t find it. I showed it to him on my phone, as I had booked it through hotels.com. Somehow, the reservation went through (as my card was charged on the day I booked it, which was about 25 days prior to the stay), but didn’t appear on his system. I booked 3 nights, and he said the first two nights my room was available, however for the third night I would have to go to their sister Riad, called Riad Adore. He said they would give me a free dinner and free hammam massage as an apology. I was ok with this. The free dinner was great. The massage times didn’t work with my schedule, so I had to pass. Upon checking out, I had to pay for the local taxes (which is normal) and they charged me for the wine I had with the free dinner. I didn’t fight about it, as I’m near the end of my trip and exhausted. Would have been a nice gesture to include the wine for free, since I didn’t take the massage (massage was more expensive than the wine, so they wouldn’t really be loosing anything). All in all still not a terrible experience. This Dar is on the “edge” of the Medina, so you will not see many tourists until you reach further into the center. This is was great because i was able to buy my spices for much cheaper from a local seller (where the locals go) instead of tourist vendor in the Medina. Mohammed provided me with great directions, maps, and info for the spice seller. Just be aware of local youngsters trying to “guide” you to where you are going. They will lie and say that the street ahead is closed, or the Medina is “the other way” to confuse you, and then offer their help and then pester you for money. Download the free app MAPS.ME which works offline and is very helpful. One night when headed back to the Dar, i was literally 20 seconds away from my Dar, knowing exactly where i was going, and a local youngster asked me the name of my Dar. I told him the name (my mistake, should just have ignored him). He decided that he was “guiding me” and when he turned into the alley of my Dar, he started knocking at the wrong door. I said “I don’t need your help, that isn’t even my Dar. This is my Dar.” He still had the nerve to ask me for money for helping me. I never asked him for help and on top of it, he showed me to the wrong Dar! He should have paid me! Last recommendation: maybe if you’re booking through hotels.com you should contact the Dar afterwards to make sure they have your reservation!

My partner and I stayed for 6 nights at Dar Hanane, and couldn't be happier. The staff were exceptionally helpful, and the riad was beautiful.

It's fair to say that, when you're new to Marrakech, the medina can be an imposing place, but we were immediately provided with all the information we needed by Mohamed, the manager, on arrival. I cannot understate how important that was as, whilst the city is amazing, there are a lot of people on the streets that are out for your cash (there are many scams that can behalf the unwitting tourist - the most common being told 'you can't go that way' or 'it's the last day of the leather market' etc*). If we'd not had this guidance, we'd have probably found ourselves significantly out of pocket and completely lost!

Each morning Mohamed would also pop round after breakfast and ask what plans we had and help us get the most out of our day (e.g. advising on the best way to reach a destination, and even showing us how to spot a good quality rug!). He really is a first rate host.

Breakfast, by the way, is had on the roof and includes coffee, orange juice, mint tea, baked goods, fresh fruit...the list goes on. I'll greatly miss the view from the terrace.

If you're considering Marrakech, I can't recommend Dar Hanane enough - you're not just getting a wonderful place to stay - you're getting all the information you need to make the best of this wonderful city.

*note, Marrakech is not 'unsafe', it just has an opportunist, literally, on every street. Frustrating, but once you have that knowledge, you know how to avoid the blighters.

It was the first time we'd ever been to Marrakesh. Dar Hanane was our home for the eleven days we were in Morocco. It was the most beautiful place I've ever stayed. I loved everything about it: the lamps, the blankets with the pom poms, the woodwork, our room, the roof, the breakfasts (if you go ask for their egg tagine.)

But most importantly, our hosts Mohammed and Mehdi made our stay almost magical. They were so helpful and heartfelt. I will miss them and the ladies that cleaned our room and did our laundry and made our breakfasts with so much care.

When we go back to Marrakesh, there is no other place we will stay. The Dar is in the medina and Mohammed gave us a detailed map for how to get around the streets with highlights of where to go and where to eat. And we needed that map because it's easy to get lost.

Dar Hanane arranged our pick up from the airport. When we arrived on a busy medina street we were met with a man with a wheelbarrow for our luggage because the medina streets are too small for a car. He took off at a run and I then realized that I had left my pocket book in the taxi. When we arrived at the Dar I was frantic with worry, but somehow Mohammed was able to reach the taxi and within an hour my bag was returned with everything in it - including my passport.

That says a lot about Dar Hanane and Marrakesh. Don't hesitate to go there.

Dar Hanane is in a great location close to the centre of the Medina and yet manages to provide a peaceful and relaxing environment. The hub of the souks and all the main attractions are moments away by foot and yet you are cocooned from all the drama in this beautiful oasis! The decor is chic and comfortable and the hospitality provided by the staff is first class. The roof terrace for drinks is fantastic with an unparalleled view of the Atlas mountains - an absolute must for a sundowner or two.

My family had an excellent stay at this charming hotel! Our rooms were clean and lovely, with a view of the orange trees in the courtyard. The location was convenient, the breakfast was delicious, and the rooftop was wonderful. The most noteworthy part of our visit, though, was the truly fantastic service provided by the amazing hotel staff. They were so helpful, warm, and welcoming; it really made our stay. They greeted us with mint tea, offered us drinks throughout our stay, helped us locate restaurants (and walked us to one to ensure we didn’t get lost), and even provided a 4:30 am breakfast on the day of our very early departure. In particular, Yassine was incredibly helpful, kind, and thoughtful - just a gem of a hotel employee. Thanks for everything, Dar Hanane and Yassine!

I arrived in Marrakech late at night totally unprepared for the chaotic nature of the city. The Dar Hanane Riad was an island of calm and beauty. Once through the doors I was immediately welcomed by Mehdi, a very professional and kind host, He showed me to my room and then served mint tea in the lovely courtyard. The bedroom was very clean and comfortable and the bathroom luxurious. The next morning and every morning a generous breakfast was served on the roof top. My friend joined me the next day and her room was equally nice. We had two dinners prepared by the chef at Dar Hanane. The food was fantastic and rivaled the dinners at the highly rated restaurants within the walls. I would recommend having at least one dinner prepared for you there. We did come to love the city but we were so thankful for the riad.

My husband and I stayed for 5 nights at Dar Hanane , interrupted by a trip to the desert but we couldn’t have had a more pleasant, interesting and hospitable stay! Mohammed, the assistant manager was a prefect gentleman, an extraordinarily hospitable host who gave us detailed information on what to see and how to navigate the city. Armed with his useful, intelligent advice and maps we walked, shopped and ate, saw museums and historic sites with ease and pleasure . Besides a wonderful breakfast we often eat our dinners at Dar Hanane which were delicious, and on the rooftop, a beautiful refuge from the crowds. All the staff are very polite and helpful. The rooms are lovely and the decor charming .

Beautiful place - quiet and peaceful but just steps away from hustle and bustle of the medina. The rooms are large, bright and very clean. The beds are super comfortable. There are orange trees in the patio and you hear birds chirping in the morning. Breakfast is fresh and delicious - try it on the roof terrace for the views of medina. The service is very friendly and welcoming. A great place to stay!!

Apologies for such a late response. Yes it has. If they don't have anything that you have asked for then they will aim to get for you. Alternatively, ask prior to going as their response is pretty good too.

Good Evening, You would be very happy staying in one of the riads in the Pure Riads collection - Dar Hanane, Riad Tzarra or Riad Adore. They are all beautiful and English owned and managed and also operate totally legally (a lot of riads don't). If you have any further questions, you can call me on my UK mobile - 07935 079983 and I will be happy to chat about your visit. Best wishes, Stuart (owner, Pure Riads)
