Riad Hikaya is a luxury boutique hotel located in the royal quarter of the medina, called the 'Kasbah', and only an easy walk from the main square, Jemaa al Fnaa, and the city's other famous landmarks. It took more than four years of meticulous restoration by local craftsmen and artisans, employing both age old techniques and materials, to transform the riad into what it is today. The two roof terraces, planted with orange, lemon, grapefruit and pomegranate trees, offer superb, open views onto the snow capped Atlas mountains. Guests are welcome to eat in our restaurant or on one of our roof terraces to make the most of the view. Included in the room rate:• Moroccan/Continental breakfast• Remote controlled air conditioning and heating for the cooler months• Fresh fruit & mineral water• Fresh flowers• "Sens de Marrakesh" toiletries• Babouche - his and hers• Flat screen tv / satellite channels• Nightly turn down service with rose petals• Heated pool • Free high speed wifi internet access

Detailed Reviews

During our recent stay in Marrakesh, we had the pleasure of staying at a charming riad located in the heart of the old city, offering a genuine slice of local culture. The standout feature of our stay was undoubtedly the exceptionally sweet and attentive staff. Each morning, we were greeted with a freshly prepared breakfast that could be enjoyed in various serene settings—upstairs, downstairs, or by the inviting pool.
The riad’s location in the old city is ideal for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the local way of life, and we felt completely safe while exploring the surrounding area. The atmosphere of the riad itself is incredibly welcoming, blending traditional Moroccan hospitality with the comfort of modern amenities.
However, there was a minor hiccup during our stay. We purchased some charming postcards featuring the iconic goats on trees, a quintessential Moroccan scene. Wanting to share this with our nieces and nephews, we encountered a small issue with mailing them. The riad manager offered to send them on our behalf, insisting despite our preference to handle it ourselves. Unfortunately, the postcards never reached our family, which was a disappointment, albeit a small one in the context of an otherwise fantastic visit.
While this was a lesson in handling things on our own, even when help is offered, it didn’t detract significantly from our overall experience. The warmth and charm of the riad and its staff left a lasting impression on us. We highly recommend this riad for anyone seeking a cultured and comfortable stay in Marrakesh, and we are certainly planning to return.
If you ask for a driver, please ask for Mustafa.
The best of the best taxi service, I only trust him.

From the elegantly decorated rooms to the impeccably maintained grounds, every inch of Raid Hikaya exudes charm and sophistication. Whether you're traveling for business or pleasure, you'll find yourself instantly at home in this tranquil oasis.

I enjoyed 4 days at Riad Hikaya with my partner and several friends and there are not enough words to describe how amazing our experience was! The treatment of the Riad's staff is simply perfect, they make you feel at home, always attentive and willing to help you with whatever you need. The food is excellent and they pay attention to all the details to make the experience unique. The location is also perfect, you can walk to all points of interest and taxis can access the door of the Riad, which makes transfers to the airport or restaurants much easier. Without a doubt, we will return! I recommend it to anyone who wants to get to know Marrakech and get the most out of their trip.

We booked the Riad through Expedia and staued from March 17th to 20th. It is our first visit to Morocco/marrakech. We had an amazing experience right from the beginning. Manager Wadia got in touch with us minutes after the booking. He took care of every detail. Arranged airport pickup, activities like hot air ballooning, Agafay tour with Quad bike activity and private dinner, Visit to Ourika waterfalls, Medina palace visits, massage.. drop off at the airport. All was planned and done so meticlously that we never had to wait, staff was sent to our room to inform that drivers have arrived to pick us up. We felt that being around family. We could get breakfast anytime we wished and at locations like scenic roof top or infront of swimming pool.
Staff was amazing. Abdol got us SIM card and printed our boarding passes all with great smile. The lady whoc did evening shifts was very kind, she treated us family. She offered us breakfast at 2.30 AM as we had to leave early to catch a flight. Nada was superb in handling all our needs, she brough a birthday cake for my wife
We certailnly look forward to another visit to Riad Hikaya and recomment the same to our family and friends

During my stay at Riad Hikaya in Marrakech, I was completely captivated by the charm of this beautiful riad in the historic Kasbah district. From the moment I arrived, the hospitality was truly exceptional—the staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and assist with anything I needed.
The riad’s spa and indoor pool added to the overall sense of relaxation, providing a perfect escape after a day of exploring the bustling medina. The location was incredibly convenient, with many of Marrakech’s key attractions just a short walk away.
Riad Hikaya is more than just a place to stay; it’s an experience of authentic Moroccan warmth and beauty. I would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone visiting Marrakech.

Look no further if you want an amazing stay in Marrakech. We recently completed a 4 night stay at this wonderful Riad after seeing all the great reviews on Trip Advisor and our expectations were exceeded. The welcome started even before we arrived with Wadia’s friendly response to our emails checking all was ok after the devastating earthquake. He reassured us and suggested sites for us to see and arranged our airport transfer plus a guide for our first afternoon which we would definitely recommend as a way of familiarising yourselves with the area.
On arrival we were so warmly greeted by the team and shown around. Wadia spent time with us to look at the local map and talk through the different areas, what we should see and recommended restaurants and hoped that we would feel like part of the family during our stay.
We stayed in Najwa which was one of the smaller rooms but suited our needs. The décor of the room was very traditional and beautiful with very comfortable beds and pillows. The tub in the bathroom was the biggest we’d ever seen – again traditional but with an excellent rain shower as well. Wonderful toiletries provided as well.
The hospitality from all the team is exceptional – when asking what time breakfast was served we were asked when we wanted it! Fabulous breakfast which we were lucky enough weather wise to enjoy on the roof terrace. Best orange juice ever plus yoghurt, fruit salad, bread and pastries and eggs however you want. We also had a meal on the first night which was absolutely delicious and beautifully served by Abdul.
Our whole experience was more than 5 star with Wadia taking the time and trouble to check on restaurant reservations, arranging taxis (making sure we knew how much we should pay) and sorting a last minute trip to the Atlas mountains…highly recommended if you are mobile enough to hike up to the waterfall!
The Riad is in an excellent position, near to the Saadian Tombs and City gate and only a 20 minute walk to the Jemaa el-Fnaa square which is a must see at night time. We felt very safe in walking around and always warmly welcomed back by whoever answered the door.
Our thanks to Wadia, Nada, Raja, Abdul and Bahija (plus everyone else) for looking after us so well. If we are lucky enough to visit Marrakech again we will be back for another stay.

Have just returned from 4 nights in Marrakech which ended with a 2 night stay at the amazing Riad Hikkaya. Wadia the Manager could not do enough for us from arranging to pick up our bags from previous Riad to helping arrange a cooking class for my partner and the golf for me. On our arrival we were shown around and then showed to our room which was amazing, we were staying in the poolside room and wow from the bed to the decor and the amazing Copper bath which was hidden after the lovely walk in shower everything was just amazing, our 1st night there we had dinner in the Riad and it was excellent i had the meatballs which were deliciously cooked and my partner had the seafood Pastilla which with me being greedy was also part of my dinner. The drinks were very reasonably priced and for the bigger bottle of beer was actually cheaper than thermal bottle i was drinking in the previous Riad. All this aside the biggest thing for me was how helpful and welcoming Wadia and his staff were, by far the biggest selling point of this hotel, he himself could not have gone above and beyond anymore to help us. in summary a beautiful quiet place to relax in amongst a busy city and staff and Manager are just amazing.

We absolutely loved our stay at Riad Hikaya. The staff were amazing. Very warm and friendly, always ready to accommodate our needs. It felt like we were being looked after by a Morroccon family. Wadia the manager was in contact from the time of booking. He sat down with us the day we arrived and showed us a map of Marrakech, showing us where things were and how to get there. Gave us tips about shopping etc, which was all very helpful. He did not once try to sell us a tour or push us into anything like I have heard other hotels do. He also booked us transport back to the airport on our departure free of charge! So helpful.
The Riad itself was beautiful, so many details everywhere, alot of hard work went in to this place. Very clean. Also loved the location, felt like real Marrakech, not overly touristy but still close enough to the main attractions, and felt safe.
I would highly recommend this Riad if you are planning a trip to Marrakech!

You’ll struggle to find anywhere with staff more friendly, accommodating and welcoming, an absolute gem.
We stayed for 5 nights and this riad was a wonderful oasis of calm genuine warmth, nothing was too much effort and everything was done with a huge smile. OK, the hot water took some time to run through, but who cares when in a room with so much character. The doors can’t be locked when you are out, but the place feels so secure and charming. Sometimes you may wait 5 minutes for anyone to pop up and notice you want breakfast but you’ll forget that as soon as you are greeted by the smile of the delightful waitress.
Our bedroom had been decorated by hand, and felt unique. The bed was so comfortable, the bathroom was something to behold. The pool was lovely at the end of the day, more relaxing than any exercise. The jacuzzi was out of action. The roof top was comfortable, and great spot to enjoy a hearty breakfast at leisure.
A highlight of our trip, real character

Riad Hikaya was a gem of an experience. Solo travelling puts additional importance on the place one stays: the people and comforts. I immediately felt welcomed and looked after.
The Riad was immaculate, beautiful, "handmade", thoughtful, authentic, and comfortable. The towels smelled cosy, the safe was hand painted, a YSL book sat on the drawers in my room, meringues were hidden inside little tin containers on my bed each evening, the food was freshly made each day to order (ingredients fetched based on what was needed) and it was delicious every time.
I could go on about this wonderful 3 night experience. But what I loved more than the material, culinary, and sensory, was the kindness of the staff. Warm, friendly, helpful. After a hot and tiring exploration of Marrakech it felt like returning home. Or at least as close to home as one can get when hundreds of miles away. Being able to replicate this feeling is difficult for any place offering hospitality to travellers.
Stay here. Easily explore Marrakech (I was able to walk everywhere). Be amongst kindness when returning. Eat great food. Relax.
