This perfectly located 18th-century riad has been in the Bouskri family for almost 200 years and offers the complete package of traditional architecture, authentic furnishings, exquisite cuisine and, above all, overwhelmingly hospitable service. The owner, Mohamed Bouskri, having been a guide for the rich and famous for 34 years (Brad Pitt, Nicole Kidman, former US presidents and others) is a mine of information and is always glad to share his knowledge and passion of Marrakech.

We stayed at Riad Kniza for a week at the end of January 2020.
This Riad is n exceptional establishment, owned and run by M. Mohamed, the owner and his staff( which are selected very carefully) takes a great care of details to ensure that we have a very pleased and a happy stay, attention to all details big and small. Our room and all the Riad are spotlessly clean. Wood fire was lit every night for us to keep the room nice and warm for us. Breakfast was amazing and varied everyday and you can have it any time and where you like and it is freshly cooked for you that is not cooked in bulk. We also used the restaurant nearly everyday for dinner, the food there is exceptional and at a vey good price ( we are really fussy about what we eat and how clean it is), they even produced dishes for us which were not on the menu. The staff and the owner went out of their way to help us with directions and suggestions. The owner MR. Mohamed took half a day off to take us shopping for Moroccan dejilabs for my daughter and showed us shops that we would have never found on our own. The Riad have a separate restaurant and also a museum with a gift shop. The museum is exceptional and the owner exhibit antique items which are amazing. All in all this Riad and the service provided are of a 5 star establishment similar or better than the four season .
We thankMr. Mohamed and all the staff for taking care of us and making our visit to Morocco really a pleasurable one.
We are already planning our return soon.

This was our first time to Marrakech and we were a little apprehensive, based purely on the films we have seen.
After being met at the airport and driven to the Medina we were guided to the Riad on foot where the tone of the whole stay was established:
"Please, sit down and take some mint tea, you are on holiday, you have to start to relax now."
The Riad was a delight, a collection of small internal courtyards which led up to the rooms and the terrace. It has been in the family for almost 200 years and the feeling we had throughout was that we were the honoured guests in a family home. The room, a Senior Suite, was sumptuous and it seemed that every time we left it someone came in to tidy up after us.
Above everything, the staff all made us feel that nothing was too much trouble, each and every person made it their job to make us relaxed and happy.
We have told all our family and friends to stay at Riad Kniza and we will be back for sure.

We spent 5 nights at the Riad Kniza and it was fabulous. I spent some time looking at lots of different places to stay but settled on this because of its excellent reviews and beautiful rooms. We were not disappointed. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a perfect stay. The breakfast on the terrace every morning was a pure treat, especially as you could order it at whatever time you fell out of bed! The rooms are all very tasteful and feel like a scene out of a movie set, full of promise and authenticity.
If you are looking for something that feels like an oasis of calm after the crazy medina and souk this is it.
You are around a 20 minute walk from the centre of Marrakesh but that suited us perfectly because we felt it was more peaceful and gave us an appreciation of other areas.
We are already planning a return visit later in the year. Thank you all at Riad Kniza!
Lou & Adrian W.

Our time at Riad Kniza was one of the best times in Marrakech. The staff was so cooperative even before we came to the hotel. They were very prompt in the email correspondence and before we arrived almost all things were perfectly arranged. Getting to the riad was also hassle free as the hotel staff made it very comfortable for us. The riad is one of the most beautiful riads and the staff is extremely friendly. Ah, and the food at the restaurant is just unbelievably delicious and sumptuous. We had 3 days of an unforgettable experience and hope to come back some time soon.

Me and my wife had a great experience staying at Riad Kniza. If you are looking for a homely experience, enriched with Moroccan culture right in the middle of the actual madina Riad Kniza is the place.

This Riad has a beautiful Moroccan architectured building adding all the modern aspect to the building without compromising the moroccan taste.
I took my wife for a trip as a surprise for our 15th wedding anniversary and we were blown away by the hospitality, comfort, taste and professionalism of the staff in Riad Kniza. There's absolutely nothing more we could ask for. All the staff at Riad in every department, reception, restaurants, house keeping was very professional and welcoming. The owner Mr Bouskri is very approachable always around and take kean interest in the comfort of his guests, always greeting the guests and asking if everything is going well.

On the day of our anniversary I booked a meal in Riaz, the food was amazing,on top of that they backed us a cake ( completely on the house) with 15 candle on it, all the staff came to greet us, Mr Bouskri personally came to greet us making us feel as we aren't in a different country but amoung our friends and family.

Breakfast was fresh, tasty and amazing, beautiful sunny weather allowing us to do it on the roof has certainly added more fun to it. They have so many different items and they kept on changing it on daily basis. What made it different to other breakfast I ever had is the quality of the food. The honey, natural yoghurt, fresh juice, tea, coffee, bread etc all were of a very high quality.

Riad is right in the heart of old city, going any where in the city is very easy and convenient, from Riad Taxi stand is 2 minutes walk at bab doukala, if you want to stroll by walk just turn right once you out of the Riad, with in twenty minutes of walk you would reach Kutubia mosque and the main souk. On the way you would have a great experience of Moroccan daily life and their beautiful culture.

I have lived in England for almost 20 years, worked in a 4 star deluxe at one of prime central London location for 6 years, stayed in countless hotels in different countries across the globe,i I have to say this was by far one of the most memorable experience I ever had, in terms of the efforts and kean interest from the owner Mr Bouskri take in providing comfort to the guests this probably was amoung the top hotels I have ever stayed in.

A very special thank to Mr Bouskri for making our stay an absolute dream. If we ever go back to Marrakesh ( which we will) Riad Kniza will be our first choice

I had debated so much when choosing somewhere to stay in Marrakech whether to go for the traditional Riad in the thick of it, or somewhere quieter, further out with the outdoor pool/lounger scenario. In the end, recognising we only had 4 days, and it being our first visit to Marrakech we opted for the true and authentic experience of a Riad. Boy am I glad we did. And even more so that we chose here to do it.

I cannot express how amazing our stay was here, it quite honestly made our trip.

Before arriving, communication was easy and near instant. On arrival we were collected from our private driver (which they arranged for us) and our bags carried through the streets to the Riad. We were greeted with Moroccan pastries and mint tea and given a guide of all the local hotspots, tips and tricks. Our room was phenomenal, they had provided drinks and a huge fruit platter and delicately placed rose petals throughout. Our room was cleaned at least twice a day to an impeccable standard, new towels provided each time, and they laid down our bed each evening while we were out, ready for when we came home. The pool and Terrance were true highlights, but the whole Riad was stunning and immaculately maintained throughout. The breakfast was plentiful, providing a selection of various sweet and savoury options as well tea/coffee and freshly squeezed fruit juice.

What really made this stay though were the staff, they clearly took pride in their work and were so friendly in doing it. Nothing was too much, you asked, they delivered and clearly embodied the whole ‘service with a smile’ ethos. I felt comfortable and welcome from the moment I stepped through the door and you can’t really ask more than that. This place is an absolute GEM so no wonder it is a favourite amongst the likes of Brad Pitt, Goldie Hawn and Will Smith.

It has truly earned every accolade and glowing endorsement. I’d be back in a heartbeat.

Riad Kniza made our trip to Marrakech one to remember. We've traveled all over the world and never found such a high-quality, luxurious experience for such a reasonable price. It's safe to say that in the United States, most European countries, or tourist destinations you would pay perhaps 3x the price for this quality of service. The Riad is so authentic and intimate - there are only eleven rooms, I think, and the staff takes care of your every need. They'll make up your room multiple times in a day, and help you arrange anything you need from guided tours to a room service dinner from the restaurant next door. The breakfast is delicious and the rooms are perfect, but the staff are really what makes this Riad special - I would give the service six stars if I could. We will definitely come back next time we're in Marrakech.

Conveniently located just inside the walls of the Medina near Bab Doukala gate and easy to find as it’s only 20m off a main thoroughfare as signposted. The staff meet your transportation and walk you the 250m from the roadway at the Doukala gate to the hotel - with a cart for your luggage.

It is a traditional old Riad that has been impeccably restored and furnished to the highest standard throughout. The rooms are large and comfortable while maintaining the look and feel of the old building. The central courtyard is superb.
It’s a relatively small Riad with wonderful friendly staff and this creates a very comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. They are eternally helpful and pleasant.

From the Riad it’s about a 15 min walk to the huge square Place Djemaa el Fna at the heart of the Medina.

We absolutely loved this place.

The experience was unbeatable. The location is just inside the walls of the medina so an excellent location for exploring inside the medina and walking out to the modern city. The riad itself was amazing. A former home, it retains the authentic old Moroccan layout, charm and beauty. Our room was very large with a modern bathroom and an A/C, heating unit. They also have an indoor pool and roof top decks for relaxing with drinks. The staff was very warm and the service couldn't have been better. Everyone was anxious to please including the owner Mohammad, who was always present, making sure we were happy.

Tucked away down a small side street just a few minutes away from Bab Doukkala and inside the Medina walls hides a secret paradise. Behind the sturdy wooden door, you will be welcomed into beautiful Riad Kniza with its indoor pool, maze of beautifully decorated rooms and relaxing roof top terrace. It’s a perfect haven away from the hussle and bustle of the medina and is perfectly situated to reach most of the main sites by foot (nowhere takes more than 20 minutes).
I had researched so many Riads for this special 4 night stay and although Covid delayed our visit by 2 years, our original booking was honoured and all communication was efficient, polite and relaxed.
On arrival, we were shown to a calm seating area and offered aromatic mint tea and tasty snacks. Our gorgeous room, a senior suite, was situated up a winding flight of stairs on the second floor and is 1 of 11 rooms that Kniza has to offer. It did not disappoint.
We had requested dinner here for our first night as we arrived quite late. Salma suggested the set menu. It was delicious but SO filling. We had appetisers, bread, chicken pastillas, a selection of salads, a tagline each and then dessert! Make sure you are REALLY hungry if you choose this option!
We had asked the staff to organise a couple of trips for us rather than book them ourselves as we would normally do …a full day’s Medina tour and a trip into the Atlas Mountains (go on a Saturday if you want to see a Berber market in full swing), and at our request they also booked dinner for us at Al Fassia restaurant and lunch at Kasbah Tamadot. It was all seamless, relaxed and both our guide for the tour and our driver to the mountains were lovely men (and both called Ali😀)
Breakfast at Riad Kniza is included. There isn’t a menu but each morning you are served bread, egg, yoghurt, bran flakes and a selection of pastries/crepes along with various jams and honey. The coffee is delicious as is the fresh orange. We chose to eat on the roof terrace but you can eat inside or in your room and they only ask for 15 minutes notice.
A couple of small suggestions for Kniza (only my personal opinion) would be that they include a little folder of information in the room and a bottle of water as standard each day.
On a final note, a big thank you to all the staff who helped make our stay so pleasant and relaxed. In particular, Salma on reception and the wonderful gentleman who brought us breakfast each morning (sounded like Bujama, meaning born on a Friday, though I have no idea how to spell it!)
You will have a wonderful stay if you choose this lovely Riad. Enjoy 😊

I don’t think so. Most riads have restaurants etc on ground floor. Both times I have been there I’ve had a flight of stairs. I would suggest contacting them directly with the question. If you can manage a few stairs the experience will be well worth it.

Hi Rooms are large and have safes and the usual amenities. I used the laundry service and received my clothes in good condition the next day. It was good value compared with the usual hotel rates. I don’t recall exact cost.
