You can enjoy the mild evenings of Marrocco on the terasse very nice and also have your breakfast up there. The rooms are okay, the toilets like everywhere else in marrocco and the price is totally good. You do not get as much noise from Jema el Fna as you would expect. All in all a typical marrocan place!

Hotel Essaouira is located in the heart of Marrakesh Medina (Old town) near Djemaa al fna. It's very cheap (Single Room 90 dh), cool in winter like many hotels/hostels in morocco. For small breakfast you pay 15 dh, big one 25dh. You eat breakfast at the roof - which offers hell of a view! Simply amazing!! Normally the receiponists are... More

very very close to the center! for hostel prices, you can get your own bed in your own little room. shared toilet and shower room. it's a bit cramped. but very friendly and helpful staff. clean and quiet.

At first it was a bit hard to find but actually the hotel is in a very good location - near Djeema-El-Fna but also away from the crowd. The room was simple yet comfortable with the only drawback being lightning - if one plans to read a book or something in the evening, it might not be possible. The roof... More

I've stayed in the Hotel Essaouira a couple of times and the next time I go to Marrakech I will stay there again - as long as its not booked up. I can't really put my finger on why I like it there so much. Maybe it is because it is so close to the Souks and the main square.... More

The hotel is just in a side street at the beginning of the souks, close to the main square. The room did not have a bathroom, toilets (2 in total) were outside along the stairs. There were 3 showers as well (the two on the top floor had hot water - learnt it on the hard way). No toilet paper.... More

Exactly what a poor college student needed on a solo trip to Morocco. Affordable, safe, quiet, simple, and pleasant accommodations. If the sky is clear from smog, there is a pretty stellar view of the Atlas Mountains from the rooftop. I would smoke cigarettes, drink apple soda, and write in my journal while sitting up there. Not for the demanding.

I first stayed here 8 years ago. Every time I return to Marrakech, if there's an open room, I make sure to stay here. It's located on a back alley with several other hotels. The common refrain from people who are dissatisfied with other hotels and move to Hotel Essaouira is that they were paying as much as double for... More

Situated in the medina this hotel makes it a ideal place for exploring the city. We stayed here for 1 night, and everything was great. The staff was helpful. It can get pretty hot in the rooms since there is no air conditioning or fans. But it was bearable. Would recommend!

Stayed here in September. No fans in the rooms, so really hot the first night and moved the second night which was better. 1 x toilet and 1 x shower shared per floor, so can be a bit of waiting. The airy and peaceful terrace serves breakfast but we ate elsewhere. Price 100dihrims (2014) They did look after our bags... More
