In the foot of the Koutoubia mosque, with its matchless landmark minaret and only 5 minutes walk from the Jemaa el Fna square, the Villa des Orangers offers an exceptional location to explore the medina. The Villa des Orangers is an intimate haven of peace located near the bustling souks of Marrakech with 27 rooms and suites arranged on two levels around three verdant open-sky patios with water fountains surrounded by galleries of chiseled plaster and a garden.

Once you walk through the doors you are transported back to another time. A wonderful hotel that is stylish, elegant and incredibly comfortable. The staff were excellent as was the food. As I was staying by myself, I would have preferred to have seen a room service menu that was a little bit more extensive in terms of choice. Saying that, the breakfast and lunch options were limitless and delicious! Its the perfect place to base yourself for a truly engaging Marrakech experience. I would however, not recommend using the tour guide that the hotel front desk recommends. The tour guide that was organised for me was intent on only taking me to his friends shops and then insisting on me buying things, which I didn't and it became a little uncomfortable. A great choice in a city that has a lot to offer.

My husband and I have stayed at La Villa Des Orangers for the past 6 years and cannot wait to return to the beauty, warmth, elegance and charm that awaits us. The location is perfect and the rooms and hotel are beautiful with exquisite details. Roses abound, dried fruit, olives and nuts rest in your room waiting for your return. The food is delicious and perhaps the best breakfast and lunch in Marrakech. The staff is like none other. No request is too much and their kindness abounds. If one wants the perfect Marrakech experience, this is the place.

From the street, Villa des Orangers won't impress you. Nestled between a tire shop and a local retailer, you wouldn't be blamed for walking right past. However, behind the nondescript door, you enter into a stunningly beautiful hotel. Our driver met us at the airport and drive us the short distance (maybe 15 minutes) to the property. Staff quickly took our bags and we walked through the door, and down a long corridor to the check in desk. There, we were invited to take a seat in the courtyard while check in took place. We were promptly offered towels and tea, coffee, and or water while we waited. While we sipped mint tea, the staff explained the property and after taking our details, escorted us on a brief tour before taking us to our room. The hotel was kind enough to upgrade us and our suite was expansive and very comfortable. Set up like a duplex, the lower section had a comfortable living room, with a fireplace, as well as a separate seating area with a day bed. Upstairs, the bedroom looked onto a balcony, and there was also a large bathroom with tub, shower, and changing room. Our balcony had two tables, along with lounge chairs. It was really large enough for a small party. The bed and linens were very nice, and worthy of this type of establishment. The hotel has three pools, although we only went to one. The hotel also has lots of private areas for drinks or just to relax. Service was excellent. Room service was promptly delivered and staff set up the lavish spread on our balcony. When we requested directions and a driver to a museum, staff suggested tickets in advance and quickly arranged them for us. The hotel is well known for its restaurants. They have two, one Moroccan, and one French. We tried both and both were excellent. My only complaint was that the staff wasn't really able to recommend any specific dish, they simply said "everything is excellent". While that may be true, it could do them well to try to understand their guests preferences and tailor suggestions to that. Lunch is included with all rooms, and the lunch offerings are really amazing with elegant service to match. Dining in the courtyard on a bright sunny day is very welcoming after the chaos of the souks. There is an excellent bar as well, with many unique cocktails. The bartender, I guess you'd call him the hotel's "mixologist" was, unlike the restaurant staff, very generous with suggestions and created some very special drinks for us to try. The hotel is very convenient to the bazaars (souks) of Marrakech. Less than a 10 minute walk and you're in the thick of it. Marrakech is not a huge city, so a short cab is all you need to reach other parts of the city. While there are some amazing "hotel" style properties in Marrakech, you'd do well to experience a riad for a more special experience and Villa des Orangers is certainly among the nicest and with their fine restaurants, is probably a top choice in the city.

Have been to Marrakech 3 times, and stayed previously at other roads - can't speak highly enough of La Villa des Orangers. Stylist, slick, comfortable and low key services. Very charming and relaxing place, full of Moroccan characters. Would return and stay!

Gratious in everyway. Super comfortable, with a staff devoted to your pleasure. The kitchen is a five star facility, from daily breakfast pastry specials, through updated and amazing dinner treats. Truly a resort destination located in the middle of Marrakesh's old city. Highly recommended.
