-When we arrived, we felt really welcome. -The riad looks very beautiful, even more beautiful than on the pictures that are uploaded by other reviewers. -The manager and the people working in the riad were very kind and helpful. One man even walked with us to Jemaa el-Fnaa to show us the way. -The rooms were really nice and clean and the airconditioning worked very good. -The staff speaks proper English and makes breakfast for you every morning.

Lovely hostess is Madame Marie, makes delicious breakfast. But i wouldnt stay there again. Too difficult to find. Creepy neighborhood at night. Get lost in a laberynth and not find your way out!! Even native taxi drivers cant find it and it will cost you a fortune in tips to have the locals of any age help you find the place. And they dont want just a $1 or Euro either. they expect 10, 20 euro or dollars. Intimidating. Old and rundown area.. very creepy.. The Riad is very lovely though. Just terrible location.

The Assaada was the most wonderful place to stay. Marie, the owner is an extremely special person. She is exceptionaly kind, full of charm as is her Riad. She could not do enough for you. She organised all taxis for us, all excursions, also outside Marrekesh. She made sure we had everything we needed and her home is truly exquisetly decorated. One is welcomed like a long lost friend. All the rooms are charming...well equiped and were a dream to stay in. We will definitely return because of Marie. Her Riad is not far from the center ans taking a taxi is very very cheap. The area around the riad is full if charm and bustling with life and safe. Her Riad is a few minutes away from the Hermes Villa but sadly one cannot visit. Anyone contemplating staying there, I just cannot reccommend it enough....it is a MUST..A wonderful experience the only Riad to stay in Marrekesh..... .

Marie the owner is a very kind and elegant woman and this place indeed reflects her personality. The Riad is located in the Medina 20 min walking from the main square (2 euros by taxy) and close to the Museum of Marrakech and school of Quran. Marie will welcome you and this place will become your oasis of peace and relax in the chaos of the city. I definitely recommend it!

This traditional riad is the best choice I have ever made by far. Located in the northern part of the Medina, the heart of Marrakech, we reached it thanks to a shuttle service arranged by Marie, the host: this was only the first of the many amazing things she kindly set for us, immediately followed by a delicious typical breakfast that served as refreshing welcome for us, people landed in the early morning. The riad is bright and quiet, furbished in style; bathrooms are very clean, as much as the rooms which are big enough to accommodate luggages leaving room to move around; beds are extremely comfortable and the overall sensation is pure relax. Marie introduced us to Marrakech, providing hints and suggestions along with a map of the city and walking us towards the closest "taxi stand". She has been always ready to assist us as any other guest of the riad. In terms of distance to the main attractions, just to mention a few: the souks are 15-minute walk from the riad, depending if you get lost in the labyrinth of Medina streets :) The same it takes to get to Jemaa El-Fna, the central square; 30 minutes is the walking distance to Jardin Majorelle. If interested in day tours or restaurants, she is also very well connected and is able to arrange any sort of treatment, including hammam and massages.

The owner Marie, was charming and very helpful. A very simple riad, we stayed on the top floor. Able to open all the windows to get a lovely cool breeze at night so no air conditioning needed. Also there was a sitting area upstairs to relax in. Breakfast was very good. Very quiet. I would recommend staying here.

Stayed for 3 nights in May with a friend. We booked through secret escapes which included, room, breakfast and an airport transfer one way. We were met on our arrival by a driver who took us a close as he could get to the Riad, he then walked us to the Riad with our luggage(2 minute walk) The owner Marie, created us with open arms and showed us our room which was lovely. Very clean and spacious, with a great big shower. Marie then offered to walk us in to the Medina, with a map she had prepared for us. I recommenced you take her up with this offer. It was roughly a 15 minute walk to the Souks and another 10-15 to the main square. Marie was a great host and even though we struggled with the language barrier she managed to meet all our requirements and solve any issues we may have. The person i travelled with unfortunately snored very loudly :-) and i did not get any sleep on the first night. We asked if another room was available. Marie sorted out another room for us at NO cost. Where else would this happen? Marie truly wants all visitors to Marrakech to enjoy their stay. The Riad is beautiful and would recommend to all.

Marie is an amazing host, she made our stay very enjoyable. Our room was beautiful and enough space for the three of us. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. When we arrived Marie greeted us open arms our French was very basic and Marie had basic English but we got by using translation apps :-) Marie gave us a map to be able to get around and she was of taken us around to show us our bearing but we had a tour booked and was being picked up shortly after arriving. We were very happy with the location as it was not on the door step of the main square and we were in a more residential area which was nice to see not many tourist :-) Breakfast was OK but I'm a very healthy person and having lots of bread and cake and no protein is not my ideal for breakfast but everyone else enjoyed it. I will book again and will recommend to family and friends.

Having been to Marrakech 9 years ago and stayed in a large hotel, we knew we were looking for the intimacy of a Riad, tucked away discreetly in the medina and we certainly found that in the Riad Assaada! The property has been beautifully and tastefully restored by Marie, the French owner. Throughout the Riad are many beautiful objects of art and tastefully artisan crafted furniture. Our room with ensuite wasn't large but we had a comfortable seating area directly outside the room for our own use, overlooking the central courtyard where a tasty breakfast was served each day. We had an authentic Moroccon meal served to us included in our package on the evening of our arrival. Marie is a wonderful host. Welcoming, helpful and friendly without being intrusive. She even took us to a wholesaler to buy our tagines to take home. They were half the price we would have paid in the souk. Our only regret was that our French and her English were of a standard that we had to resort to a translation app on our iPads. A French dictionary would have helped! We needed the torch we took to find our way back to the Riad at night after venturing out to the wonderful restaurant recommended by Marie. Whilst Marie drew a very detailed map to find our way to the main centre, we would recommend you take a pen and notebook for other routes. A lovely stay and a five star review fully deserved!
