Azzouna 13 has been renovated in the purest Moroccan tradition. Stucco, woodwork and wrought iron have recovered their historical and original beauty. The Riad offers a big patio with two “Bhou,” traditional exterior lounges around a refreshing fountain, a living room with a fireplace for the wintery evenings, five rooms all with en-suite tadelakt bathroom in the most sober style. A big terrace with multiple lounging areas covers the housetop.

Everything was perfect, from the pick-up from the airport, the welcome dinner (probably the best meal I had in Marrakech), the delicious pancakes for breakfast, the room, and the general peace and quiet of the riad, which was a welcome contrast to the hustle and bustle of the meding just outside the walls. Moha was brilliant in helping me get my bearings in the first couple of days, and the rest of the staff went our of their way to make me feel at home.

This Riad is a little oasis in the Medina. The decor is stylish with comfortable, immaculate rooms. Breakfast was included and was also great. It was really easy to get in touch with them beforehand too.

The room was clean. I was sick when I arrived at this hotel and we ordered our dinner at this hotel a couple months before we arrived but we cancelled. The hotel staff told us that he will check with the owner and maybe we don't need to pay for the dinner or maybe some type of discount since we will not going to eat our dinner. However, they charged 100%, and they don't even pack our meal in a box or anything. It was very sad, but we understood that after the earthquake they must have many cancellations. We stayed at the Riad in Fez, so we kind of compared to. We liked the style of Fez's Riad. More traditional Moroccan House. I would stay in a hotel in Marrakech next time instead of Riad.

We had a lovely time during our 3 day trip to Marrakech. The riad was clean, smart and comfortable and the staff were extremely helpful and welcoming. The riad is well placed for an easy stroll to the Medina and the location was quiet and peaceful. The breakfasts were delicious. Thank you for a lovely stay.

The riad is tastefully appointed, clean and lived up to the pictures. What destroyed the whole experience for us was the un-Manager Moha of Riad Azzouna - unfriendly, unhelpful, unwilling and unaccommodating. We arrived 2 days after the earthquake, perhaps the best time to test a hotel's true capabilities. We decided to check -in 2 nights ahead of our original booking (our other hotel booking near the Atlas Mts was closed due to damage caused by the quake). When we arrived, he virtually did not want to let us in and even denying we even had a booking without checking properly. When we asked him if we would be safe here, his instant reply was 'No, this place is not safe. The whole medina is not safe' When we asked if there was any damage to the property, he said the damage was minor. He left us to draw our own conclusions and made us wonder if he wanted us to cancel our booking altogether, let alone stay 2 more nights in view of the fact that we didn't know where to go. Did the property owner brief him on how to present themselves and reassure guests? As we had arrived after dinner, we asked if there were restaurants nearby he could recommend, his reply was that everything was closed, their kitchen was closed but we could order online ourselves without offering any help. There was zero attempt at offering any help whatsoever to help hungry and tired guests, not even some leftover bread in the kitchen perhaps. The next day, we asked where we could go to explore the medina, again he said everything was closed which was patently untrue! What he couldn't answer, he simply forwarded me the owner's contact and toild me to contact him myself. How 'assuring'. I don't see how a person like that could be in the front line of customer service, with his smirk, lack of courtesy and negativity. When I read other reviews describing his as friendly and helpful, I can only think that we must talking about a different person. The week after the earthquake was a difficult and uncertain time for both travellers and hotel owners. The other places we stayed in were exemplary in how they accommodated us under the circumstance and the fortitude they showed. We were very grateful and told them so. To add insult to injury, the owner of Riad Azzouna did not respond to any of my messages. It is not nice to write a bad review but I do not want others to be put through the bad experience we had. Not even the most beautiful property can make up for the total dereliction of basic service. Moha was a complete disaster! Stay there at your own risk!

Beautiful interior with good atmosphere. And the terrace on the top was nice. Most important, the bed and restroom are clean. And good food - breakfast and dinner (will be charged) But one thing, my double room on the second floor is quite dark. I think because here is the Riad.

We had a wonderful stay at Riad Azzouna 13. The place is nicely renovated and it’s really comfortable. We had 2 rooms, a suite for 3 people and a double room. Both were very clean, with comfy beds and air conditioning. Breakfast was included and it was delicious . Moha, the manager, was nice and he was able to answer all the questions that we had . One thing to remember is that this is in the very busy Medina, the old city, and the streets are small and often without street signs. If you are coming in through the airport I would highly suggest having someone from the Riad pick you up and take you to the property. We definitely recommend staying here!

We spent 3 nights in Riad Azzouna, a very charming and cozy place to be, the decoration is really beautiful. We were very well received and supported by Moha and the rest of the staff. The bedroom is comfortable and the riad is well located, we always walked everywhere we wanted to go!I would recommend this riad as a good choice to be in Marrakech🙂
