Me and a friend went to book for a weeks stay here, Elisabetta (the owner) was very accommodating when booking as the last two days of our stay our room was already pre-booked so she arranged for us to complete our stay in the neighbouring Le Coq Fou. (adjoining) Both Riad's were excellent. The medina markets/shops can be very hustle...

We booked this Riad after reading the reviews here on TA. Located in the Larouss area of the Medina. Once you step inside it is quiet and peaceful, you can't hear the hustle and bustle of the crowds and mopeds outside. Very charming with character. Thank you Fatima for our spotless room! Thank you Ahmed for the delicious breakfast served...

This is a charming Riad located 10 minutes away form Jem El-Fnaa Square. It's tucked away in the Souks, so after a day of shopping - It was a pleasure to return to this beautiful Riad which was peaceful & relaxing. The management were extremely helpful, drawing us a little map to guide us to jem El-Fnaa Square (There are...

The Riad is really beautiful! Like a little palace with a tiny pretty pool. The terrace was awesome, great place to spend the night reading and relaxing. Everybody was very kind: the manager stopped to explain everything about Marrakesh for us for 30 minutes. We left our cases on the Riad because we went to the desert for four days,...

It was a first riad in Morocco that we visited and appeared to be the best one. Fantastic and helpfull hosts. A lot of focus put on all the details like roses in a pool, in the rooms, etc. Very clean and comfortable. Quiet surroundings. Breakfasts were tasty though everyday almost the same. Overall i deffinitely recommend this place.

If you want to experience the real Marrakech, this Riad is the place for you. It is located in the Larouss area of the Medina and my wife and I stayed here for 10 days in November and paid around €50 a night. We had free transfers from and back to the airport which were organised by the hotel so...

From our first 3 nights at the start, to the last night after a week of biking in Morocco, the Riad of Le Coq Berbere, was a breathe of fresh area, relaxed, quiet and an escape from the chaos and speeding mopeds of the surrounding streets of marrakech. from when we stepped in, we were greeted by smiles and more.....

We stayed here for 3 out of our 4 nights in Marrakech after being disappointed with another riad. Despite arriving late at night, we were warmly welcomed and provided with helpful information, including maps of the medina and tips on how to get around. The staff went out of their way to ensure we had a good stay and that...

Nice 4 day stay. In a low hassle part of the medina, friendly staff and lots of common space make this a nice place to spend a few days. Terrace is big and sunny, where a nice breakfast is served. Beds and rooms are excellent, with rooms opening up to the main courtyard. Inward facing rooms mean there can be...

Classy Riad that is a calm oasis in the middle of the bizarre. We loved laying out and catching some sun, listening to the birds, and seeing the city and hills in the distance after breakfast each morning. The hosts are very friendly and help you navigate the city and what to enjoy and what to look out for. For...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
At the beginning there were two friends, Barbara and Elizabeth, and the charm of the Red Town. In an afternoon, walking in a quiet part of the Medina, called Riad Laarouss, close to Ben Youssef Mosque, they saw an old woman with a tattoo on her chin, standing in the street door. The woman was making great gestures to invite them into her house, which seemed very poor. According to the traditional Moroccan hospitality, the old woman offered them mint tea and cakes. She also introduced to them the last born in the family, Idris, a few-months baby, and Mustafà, a gentle and wise man who was living like a Hermit in his ... more   less
