I booked my stay with this Riad around February before things got bad with COVID-19. Once the USA banned travel to Europe (I was starting my journey in Portugal) I contacted the manager who went by just “B” and he refused to work with me on getting a refund. I was told I would get a discount off a future stay. Are you kidding me?! Why would I want to stay at this establishment for a discounted rate in the future when you refused to work with me during a GLOBAL PANDEMIC where thousands of people lost their lives and jobs?! My booking was non-refundable however, I think that considering the borders to Morocco we’re CLOSED at the time my trip was supposed to commence and I couldn’t travel to the country if I wanted to, it would’ve been the humane thing to provide a refund when a service was not provided. I begged and pleaded that this was out of EVERYONE’S control and I was told that they had “families to take care of” so I wouldn’t be given a refund. So basically I lost $500 of my hard earned money so they can feed their families. I was shocked and appalled that humanity did not kick in for these people who run this Riad to sympathize with what was going on in the world, and at such a tough time to only think of themselves and profit off of someone else when they did not provide a service. I was also communicating with another member of the staff who had to beg “B” to at least give me a credit for another time and ended being blocked by that person on WhatsApp which was the number listed on their website as the customer services number. Due to what was happening I could not predict when I would be able or felt safe to travel again and the deadline he gave after being begged was September. Long story short, I never received that credit or heard from them again. Frankly, I wouldn’t want to stay here anyway because the customer service was downright atrocious. A lesson I learned through all of this is to never book a non refundable rate unless it’s with a big name hotel chain. What hurts the most is the Riad I really wanted to stay at (Riad Star) was booked. So to lose $500 at a place that was a fifth choice burns deeply. I would not recommend this Riad.

It's a lovely, beautifully decorated riad. The room was fresh, clean, nicely decorated with a very good big bed. Only the water pressure in my shower was too weak. The hosts make you feel very welcome and are nice to chat whit. Service is perfect. You can buy some drinks in the riad. They serve a delicious dinner (though a little pricey) in the romantic patio. They make variations in the good breakfast. The location is in the medina, in the south part, which is less touristic than the area around the souks en El Fna market. We liked the area with lots of locals. The little splash pool on the rooftop is a nice bonus. The area around the pool though is too small (with 4 people it's crowded). Some extra sunbeds around the rooftop would be better. We enjoyed our stay here in everyway!

We recently stayed at the Riad Omara for two nights and had a great experience. The door is on a busy street, but once you are inside it is peaceful and quiet. Our guests Karem and Abdul were evil, helping us navigate Marrakech. The city was a bit quieter than usual due to the corona virus, but we had a great time. The courtyard is a perfect spot to sit and relax after a day in the city. The roof deck is gorgeous and a perfect place for breakfast. Thanks again!

Wonderful accommodation, friendly and extremely helpful staff, great kitchen and lovely breakfast. Rooms are excellent and bathroom facilities authentic and beautifully decorated. The location is right downtown in walking distance of most places where you want to be. We were there at a time when stress took over the world due to the Corona virus. The staff kept us up to date on our ability for a return flight since Marokko had closed the borders without sufficient notice. We got the last plane leaving Marrakech.

It wasn't a great experience at all. Not nice welcome when we arrived. Nice room but without windows. Said with a terrace... but in fact you access your room by passing by the terrace... quite different. We ordered a diner before our arrival and agreed on the menu.. but what we had for diner wasn't totally what we agreed on and when we told that to the waiter he said it was like that and then the manager he replied it was our fault and we should have refused the meal... Finally, for the check out, it took us more than 30 mn, the manager proceeded the payment without validating the amount with us before. This experience was not pleasant at all.
