The positive reviews are not accurate about this place. Base to our experience! The only correct that mentioned is the free wifi, pretty good and fast, and the friendliness of the staff. The location is walking distance from the main street where you find the restaurants, shops, and sights nearby. But, Casa Aya Medina is not easy to find, especially if you arrived in the evening (be sure to come in the daytime). The location is in the Medina, and the taxi will drop you off on the parking lot then walk through like in a maze. You must have an excellent orientation to find it back. And you'll have to do some crouching and crawling through a narrow alley until you reach the front door. Is not easy! The rooms are situated upstairs, by going through a narrow staircase, is dark and smells like sewer — tiny room not enough space for luggage. The bathroom is filthy, mold around the sink, and the mirror cracked. No bin to find in the room, we use plastic as trash. Nice balcony as well, but you have to go through many staircases. At night can be chill from air conditioning as there are no extra sheets on the bed. I took one of the blankets lies above the rack, but this has a strange smell, probably never been washed. Breakfast included in the room rate serves between 8-10 in the morning. A Moroccan food, mostly fried but no eggs. Terrible coffee if you want black is so strong if you wish coffee and milk, you barely taste the coffee. Not good at all. By the way, they arrange airport pick up for 15 euro =150 dirhams.

The typical Moroccan shelter (with pros and cons) in the Medina of Fès but at the same time extremely special! Thanks to not only the beautiful decorations and the breathtaking internal design but especially to its “guardian angel” who leads the location. He looks after you and gives you the most precious suggestions you might need. A real angel! Also the breakfast is amazing, at the beginning even overwhelming but everyone is gonna love it!

+ location (far enough from main street to avoid noise at night yet within walking distance) + terrace with nice view + breakfast + cleanliness + staff is very attentive, super nice + AC + extra blankets + many electrical sockets - one of the extra beds was a bit small and “crooked” (as if you were about to roll down)

This place was amazing, clean, tidy... Great location. The breakfast was rich with a great hospitality. It's also very easy to find from the bus station direction, little bit tricky from inside the medina direction. Don't use maps.me, they are showing slightly wrong. Google maps are more accurate. If u go from the bus station area, go down the street and look up on poles, walls, they have signs "casa aya medina" so if u follow them, u will find it easily. The place is in the very tiny narrow blind street and u need to go through sort of a dark tunnel in a wall, but no worries, the area is very safe with nice people, no hassle experienced around. Right behing the riad, u have a small hill with some ruins, donkeys, sheep, where u get a really nice panorama view. It's 5min walk and worth it. If locals ever tell u anywhere that the street is closed (because of weekend or reconstruction), NEVER TRUST THEM and just go. they are lying. Ignorance towards them with no speaking is the best.

Great location easy to reach from the main gate of the Medina without getting lost, beautiful Riad, clean and spacious rooms and good wi fi. What made this hotel stand out for us was the hospitality witch the boy working on the reception greet us,it was an unique experience for us from moment we entered the riad till we checked out we felt like we are guest is his home not like hotel,it was truly an authentic experience. I have been to so Manny hotels but never seen something like that. I recommend this riad if you have the chance to take it do not think twice. Thre minus about this place is that where some moskitos and flyes witch bother us a bit. Also an advice for fes would be not to take a tour guide as it seems more like a shopping tour better there are many locals offering more historical insight for less money.
