I was very comfortable stay in Fes with the Riad.
Before my arriving to my departure, one of the staff was so kind and helpful!
She arranged private transfer, and private guide for me before my arrival.
Thanks to the arrangement, I enjoyed the walking tour with English speaking guide and didn’t get lost in the very complicated town which has moreh than 9,000 streets.
Also the Riad is very traditional style building and I felt the atmosphere of ancient times including welcoming mint tea, rooms, architecture, and breakfast as well.
Thank you and see you again someday!

Fes is very complicated and hard city to walk around, because it has more than 9,000 streets!! So, I recommend you to ask the Riad to hire local guide! Local guide is quite reasonable (approx. 20-30EUR/USD or 25MAD for half day.)

Riad Mazar - Perfect, everything about our stay at Riad Mazar was absolutely perfect! I contacted the Riad in advance to inquire about gluten-free options for breakfast and dinner. Siham responded quickly and positively to my requests. My daughter and I traveled to Fez in January and had a wonderful time! Siham arranged for our round trip airport transportation and also for our guided tour of the Medina.

We arrived at the Riad in time for dinner, which was spectacular, with traditional options for my daughter and gluten-free options for me. All of it was delicious, the spices and flavors were so subtle and such a rich treat! A completely sensory event! Dinner was served in one of the mosaic lined side rooms of the ground floor. Each meal at the Riad was an amazing, delicious event!

The Riad itself is absolutely gorgeous, with layer upon layer of color and pattern in the mosaic, plaster, and woodwork, a feast for the eyes! The staff (I'm sorry I'm terrible remembering names!) were all so kind and helpful!

Our room was one of the smaller twin rooms, but perfect for the two of us, beautiful mosaic borders and a lovely bathroom. It had a window looking onto the street which I loved because it gave a view of daily life! There was a large school across the street and it was fun to see the students coming and going.

Breakfast was again a wonderful meal, served in the inner courtyard room with two beautiful fountains!

Our guide for our Medina tour was arranged by Siham and it was a fabulous experience. (Again, I'm sorry I don't remember his name!) Our guide's knowledge of architecture, history, and culture was fantastic, we moved along slowly and stopped often to discuss buildings, history or religion in that area, etc. It was truly a wonderful tour and so incredible to walk down into the layers of history of the Medina! Once our guide realized that I was so fascinated by the mosaics he suggested that we visit mosaic a school and store. It was a short taxi ride from the Medina and also an excellent place to visit and learn about the history, art, and craft of mosaics. We took a taxi back to the Riad, relaxed for a while and then enjoyed another wonderful dinner!

Our second day, we enjoyed staying at the Riad for the day and dinner, there was a small reading area/balcony near our room which also had a window onto the street, the sun poured in and accented all of the mosaics and plasterwork, it was so beautiful to just sit and enjoy the Riad for the day!

All in all, it was a perfect trip (but short!) trip to Fez, thanks to Siham and others at Riad Mazar, I recommend it highly!

It was so delightful to return to Riad Mazzar after a six year absence, (mainly due to Covid). We were warmly greeted by Sihan and the owner who remembered us from our last stay. The riad looked as fresh and new as it did when we visited the first time. Although now it has a lovely lift. The atmosphere was still just as tranquil, the service just as attentive and the decore and comfort of the rooms just as we remembered it. This is a truly lovely, traditional Moroccan riad, with a great location being within easy walking distance of the world renowned Fez Medina. We look forward to our next visit.
Regards
Hazel Cole

Wow, the initial impression which greets you when you walk through the door is nothing short of breathtaking. The more time you spend looking at the interior of the central courtyard the more impressed you are with the extraordinary detail of the workmanship. It's cavernous! Just thinking about the time it took to create the interior of this stunning riad defies imagination. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable. So why four and not five stars? Well I struggled with writing this review, but I had to place it in the context of the other five riads/dars we stayed in and it is about overall experience and impressions. I felt the internal spaces were a bit 'reverential', more like a library where you have to speak in hushed tones than a social space. It felt awkward to sit there, even at breakfast listening to the rattle of our cutlery echoing around the building. My friends had a room which had windows to the front onto the street, and they suffered some street noise from groups of local youths who gathered outside. My room only had windows into the internal spaces and I was not troubled by noise. No full length mirror, but that was a theme repeated elsewhere. There is no doubt that this is an extraordinary place, absolutely beautiful, and we were treated with courtesy and respect during our two night stay, but I have to be honest and present my view of where it fell slightly short of our expectations. Entirely personal opinion, as reviews are by their very nature.

If you are traveling to Fes you must consider this Riad. Such a warm and loving meeting with
Siham when we first arrived. We were greeted with Morocco tea and homemade cookies.
The Riad is so beautiful and so elegantly restored, I felt like a sultan sitting and drinking my tea.
The rooms are spacious and very comfortable and the air conditioning works wonderfully for
A really comfortable night of sleep. The location is great and close to the Blue gate that gets you
Into the Suks . Each day when we got back to the Riad we were greeted with a lovely smile from
Siham and the smell of of fresh baked goods coming from the kitchen. The breakfast are tasty and
Made fresh every day. We truly loved our stay at Riad Mazar and thank you Siham for making us feel,
So welcome in Fes.

I stayed at the Riad Mazar with friends in Feb and would highly recommend this Riad. Its a beautiful building and a feast for the eyes with its architecture and beautifully appointed individually decorated spacious bedrooms. There is a lift to take you up to your room so there is no lugging of bags up stairs. The breakfasts and dinners were restaurant quality... absolutely delicious. The staff were warm and welcoming and the location was excellent to go walking around the Medina. You will not regret staying at this grand beautiful Riad.

Based on my teenage son and my recent 4 night stay, I highly recommend this Riad. The attention to detail sets this property apart from others - the architecture, furnishings, and location all make for a memorable experience.

Of course the stars of this property are the welcoming and attentive staff - always smiling and helping us if we had any questions or requests regarding Fez (a city we fell in love with). They booked our train tickets to Casablanca, arranged several tours (including a city walking tour and day trip to Chefchaouen), coordinated a hammam and massage experience and a leather shopping trip.

The breakfast offered was excellent. The on-site dinner option (book ahead) was the culinary highlight of our Morocco travel experience.

Thank you to Khalid Bouzidi Idrissi and his amazing team for making our stay one to remember. I look forward to visiting Fez and this Riad again, inshallah.

We only had one night and one breakfast at this riad in March 2022, but it was glorious. Don't ever judge a riad by its exterior! Our tour driver got us checked in on a Tuesday night, and we had the usual mint tea and snacks. The lobby is three stories high with windows looking out from each level. The famous Fes ceramic tile work is everywhere.

Our bags were taken up by the staff, and we enjoyed a tight and giggly ride up in a European-tiny elevator. We only used the stairs after that first trip up. Three grown women barely fit! We each had a bed, plenty of outlets, and a nicely appointed bathroom. The shower was slow to warm up but had good water pressure.

Breakfast was delicious, like all Moroccan meals, and heavy on French-style breads. We did walk to a restaurant for dinner, and the riad isn't far from the twisty alleyways of the medina. Just be careful of people charging you for directions!

A second visit with my partner, plus two friends, did not disappoint. The lovely Siham was there to welcome us and to ensure that every need was met. Riad Mazar offers wonderfully comfortable guest rooms and divine breakfasts. Laundry is accommodated without commission and returned the same day. The riad’s location is very convenient, just a short walk from a lively square, ATMs, restaurants, and other services. The nearby Cinema Cafe serves delicious food, including camel kefta. Also excellent fries, the table next to us reported! I’d return to Riad Mazar in a heartbeat.

Siham, the wonderful Riad Mazar attendant, arranged for a taxi driver to meet us at the train station, holding a sign with our name and he drove us to the front door of the riad. Otherwise there are many taxis waiting outside the train station and you could give them the name and address of the riad.

A cab is a good option. I believe you can choose between a small / large cab depending on your need (luggage, no. of people). The cab can take you right to the door of Riad Mazar.
