Would thoroughly recommended staying here, great hospitality without being obtrusive, traditional building with modern comforts, great location, stroll to the vibrant Medina, but good access for taxis etc - a wonderful, relaxing home from home in a fascinating city

When we stepped into Riad Mazar our jaws dropped. The place is amazing. OMG, so beautiful. Great location, just a couple of minutes to the Blue Gate, Rainbow Street and the Medina. Siham personally picked us up from the square and was absolutely lovely to us through the stay. She recommended wonderful places for food (for example Palais Faraj and Ruined Garden), got us a tour guide for the next day, recommended good massage places etc. etc. etc. Also other stuff were also kind and helpful. Recommendable.

I was very comfortable stay in Fes with the Riad. Before my arriving to my departure, one of the staff was so kind and helpful! She arranged private transfer, and private guide for me before my arrival. Thanks to the arrangement, I enjoyed the walking tour with English speaking guide and didn’t get lost in the very complicated town which has moreh than 9,000 streets. Also the Riad is very traditional style building and I felt the atmosphere of ancient times including welcoming mint tea, rooms, architecture, and breakfast as well. Thank you and see you again someday! Fes is very complicated and hard city to walk around, because it has more than 9,000 streets!! So, I recommend you to ask the Riad to hire local guide! Local guide is quite reasonable (approx. 20-30EUR/USD or 25MAD for half day.)

Riad Mazar - Perfect, everything about our stay at Riad Mazar was absolutely perfect! I contacted the Riad in advance to inquire about gluten-free options for breakfast and dinner. Siham responded quickly and positively to my requests. My daughter and I traveled to Fez in January and had a wonderful time! Siham arranged for our round trip airport transportation and also for our guided tour of the Medina. We arrived at the Riad in time for dinner, which was spectacular, with traditional options for my daughter and gluten-free options for me. All of it was delicious, the spices and flavors were so subtle and such a rich treat! A completely sensory event! Dinner was served in one of the mosaic lined side rooms of the ground floor. Each meal at the Riad was an amazing, delicious event! The Riad itself is absolutely gorgeous, with layer upon layer of color and pattern in the mosaic, plaster, and woodwork, a feast for the eyes! The staff (I'm sorry I'm terrible remembering names!) were all so kind and helpful! Our room was one of the smaller twin rooms, but perfect for the two of us, beautiful mosaic borders and a lovely bathroom. It had a window looking onto the street which I loved because it gave a view of daily life! There was a large school across the street and it was fun to see the students coming and going. Breakfast was again a wonderful meal, served in the inner courtyard room with two beautiful fountains! Our guide for our Medina tour was arranged by Siham and it was a fabulous experience. (Again, I'm sorry I don't remember his name!) Our guide's knowledge of architecture, history, and culture was fantastic, we moved along slowly and stopped often to discuss buildings, history or religion in that area, etc. It was truly a wonderful tour and so incredible to walk down into the layers of history of the Medina! Once our guide realized that I was so fascinated by the mosaics he suggested that we visit mosaic a school and store. It was a short taxi ride from the Medina and also an excellent place to visit and learn about the history, art, and craft of mosaics. We took a taxi back to the Riad, relaxed for a while and then enjoyed another wonderful dinner! Our second day, we enjoyed staying at the Riad for the day and dinner, there was a small reading area/balcony near our room which also had a window onto the street, the sun poured in and accented all of the mosaics and plasterwork, it was so beautiful to just sit and enjoy the Riad for the day! All in all, it was a perfect trip (but short!) trip to Fez, thanks to Siham and others at Riad Mazar, I recommend it highly!
